Thus far, the only casualty in the Fiddy/Kanye sales 'beef' seems to be Kenny Chesney--who said he'd outsell them both. Even the 'loser' in the 'battle' of rappers has tripled the country boy's sales.

The only thing worse than putting your foot in your mouth is when it happens to be a square-toed, turd-kicking boot...

Finally a reason for me to joint this thread...an old-school-rap battle and college football. Two of my favorite non-political subjects.

First off...I'm afraid my Vols are in for a tough weekend...and I'm still shaking off my Cal experience (Santa Cruz on Sunday made it a little more tolerable). Second off...Kanye has the better single and album in my opinion...have not heard Chesney's yet...but would not be shocked if he catches at least one of the rappers after the initial hype dies down. Thirdly...I was always under the impression it was "Fitty" not "Fiddy."

As for GL...I'd be really sad to see it go. it was the first Amusement park I ever went to, and I grew up with the park. Double-Loop was my first coaster ever, so the park has a lot of nostalgia for me. If Dominator and Thunderhawk do leave, next year may be my last visit to the park.

Hmm, so, maybe it is actually happening. I wonder what would happen to the Villain. If they move it, where would it go, and it would be a huge expense to move it. Maybe they'll keep the Villain? 13 pages i'm sure it's been discussed.

I hope someone takes out Florida. They can't run the Table, I and Ohio state won't allow it.

And Back on Coasters, i'm sad to say this, but I think my riding is over, now that classes are starting. But it's great that my last coaster was X-Flight(firehawk for everyone else). Fun Fun.

but i'd love to get up there to ride Batman tonight at Geauga, but I don't think I'm gonna drive 2 hours tonight.

This is not your mom and pop's ebonics. Like every known language...regionalized dialect has evolved. It is apparent that some of you indeed are using the “moron” version of ebonics for which “fiddy” is acceptable. I was schooled in classical ebonics, therefore “fitty” iz da style I use.

If not for the urban dictionary, I would have never known that some of you were using this new slang…and that such gibberish was actually frowned upon by those of us practicing classical ebonics. I just knew “fiddy” did not look right. :)

I've known ya pimpz uh long tyme, therefore I promise not ta diss ya too harshly fo' yo' whack language skills.

I think all versions of ebonics are moronic, just as I think redneck dialect is moronic. I'm not one to promote the spread of the Queen's English or anything like that but ebonics and redneck don't solidy one's connection to their roots, they just make one sound ignorant. Having an accent is one thing but talking in close to something that's a different language is just silly.

I see that side of it, Rob. But the idea that language (and speech) evolves is too strong for me to ignore.

Probably so. But when you think about it, our current "English" isn't all that much different from the English that was used in England during the Revolutionary War- at least according to writings dating back to that period. Ebonics and redneck seem like offshoots of modern-day American English that's either spoken out of ignorance or an attempt to be rebellious. I could make up a language or dialect of my own if I wanted, but I'd likely sound like an idiot by speaking it.
