Two more out the door at Geagua Lake?

I think the reason I like posting here is that the moderators keep the place pretty clean. Plus, this is the first coaster site I ever posted at, so I try and stay loyal.

Anyway, Geauga was great on Saturday. Got to talk to Bill for a bit, and he truely is a nice guy. We talked about operations and the industry, but I never spoke about any rumors.

Talked to some of the employees yesterday, and they were saying that they all found it kinda odd thatprettymuch all upper management were taking rides on Big Dipper, of all rides. They were also saying they were just getting the feeling that this was the last season.
The park had a nice size crowd yesterday. It was a little tough getting through the midway past the log ride thanks to the yummy food vendors for Octoberfest. There were also signs that 2008 season passes are on sale.
This is meant in good fun...given our history and all...

I thought I made it clear…?

Touche Mr. Jeff Smith And THANK YOU for not taking my little poke at your post personally and seeing the humor in it.

Thanks for noticing…this is not always the case! ;)

This is definitely a personality-driven site, and that's why I have been posting here regularly since 2000.

No doubt about it. One of my favorite personalities on here is playa. Hard to tell when he is joking or playing serious. Whichever is the case this time….it is all in good fun on my end playa. If you are trying to be funny…you succeeded. If you are serious…well then that is even a bit more entertaining. :) In many cases, it is the stuff that is taken seriously that makes it so darn interesting! ;)

Interesting thing about season passes...

How much is a Geauga Lake season pass for 2008?

It should only be a matter of time now before the cranes move in to begin dismantling the two coasters & shipping them off to their new locations at KD & MIA.

^^ I asked Bill Spehn on Friday when the Platinum Passes went up on the site and he said the pricing for the GL passes hadn't been finalized yet.

Many of the parks in the chain do not have their pricing yet.

Can this be confirmed? Who has time to check each individual park site?

I go by the park about every two weeks or so, and we always drive around the back. If i see anything, i'll let everyone know.

Jason did it already.

Honestly now...you've posted nearly the exact same thing at least fifteen times in this thread alone. Nothing has been confirmed, and yet I can practically hear you salivating over Dominator from here. Kinda' sickening...

^More survey markers were spotted behind the Scooby doo coaster & the bus parking lot has now been closed off so that just adds more fuel to the rumor.

Well... whatever happens... I for one can say that going to Geauga Lake the past 30 years has been fun, exciting, and wonderful. My trips this year were great, I rode the rides with passion and content and I was glad to share this experience with many others. I hope the future is brighter for my little park, but whatever happens... happens.
But it's not going to SFA ;)...

2009 - Walt Disney World Attractions.

BatwingFanSFA doesn't care if it's SFA or KD, he just wants a B&M in his backyard period. I do agree that the salivating is in poor taste, but have I mentioned how exicited I am that Steel Venom will be at Dorney next year?;)

I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't excited that there's a possibility of Dominator being relocated to KD. But, having ridden the ride in its original habitat, if you will, it's hard to imagine it anywhere else than on the Lake.

^Just for the sake of argument, go ahead and *imagine* it being behind Scooby...but don't let that ruin the "surprise" ;)

Voodoo*

I hope I don't regret the fact that I haven't been back to GL in a few years. When I come back up to Ohio it is hard to get over in that direction. It is such a shame that Premier/Six Flags took a park that was operating well, sure...not a super park...but making a little money, and then ran it aground and walked away.

Even with the best intentions by Cedar Fair, it just may have never been possible to fully recover.

Their season pass pricing is interesting to say the least. Can't believe Geauga Lake's is only $39.99 for their regular season pass. Thats a really good deal for those locals even if they remove those coasters.

I normally bought my Cedar Fair passes at Dorney, and ended up buying them at Kings Dominion this past season. BGW and KD has become our regular 1st amusement park trip of the year because they open a lot earlier then the parks up here. The Maxx Passes were $10 cheaper at KD then at Dorney, but my the junior Maxx pass for my daughter was $10 cheaper at Dorney. I am sure that the Nick kids area had something to do with that. We ended up getting all the passes there as we still saved $20 over Dorney's price.

I am anxious to see what KD pass prices are for next year. I am sure the Platinum Pass will be the same, but that's ok with me. Looks like I'll be a KD passholder from now on. Then I can go to Dorney and still get free parking. ;)We only went to Dorney once this year, and we went to Cedar Point the most.

We are going to KD for their Halloween Haunt for our first time on October 13, and going to Cedar Point for Boobuzz on the 20th. We are going to Dorney one of these weekends, but we haven't set a date. We just decide the day of since Dorney is only 90 minutes from us.
