TTD waiting for parts

Dragster has plenty of power to make it over the tophat. The power of the "hydrolics" (sic) has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Hey Woody, they're just specualating, and their they're doing that based on something they've noticed about the ride, then there is nothing wrong with that. Do you have any idea whats wrong with it?

The trains are lighter because the themeing was flying off the things plus the fact that teh things crested the top hat at 20 MPH or so when the launch only hit 117 MPH and I have saw teh launch hit 123. Power is no issue.

As for your damage photo I woudl say that is extremely exrtremely Minor. It takes very little for Fiberglass to break, I woudl say that was a slow speed collision on the transfer.

Sounds good becuase I am going to cedar point for my first time in 10 days! I live in chicago so I won't be back anytime soon. I really want to ride it, thats why I am getting nervous that it won't open.

Well on the news tonight, they said that they are waitng on more Intamin engineers to arrive tonight, and it will be several more days until the ride is back up. This issue seems to be one of the biggest ones for TTD, as the on site Intamin engineers (as there is at least one on site for 90 days after they sign a ride over to a park) can't fix the problem.

What is wronge with it? Did they say when it would open or a guess, or did the say several days?

Is this standard practice for Intamin with all of their new rides? Do other companies keep an employee on-site for three months?

I know companies like B&M usually have someone present to "babysit" for opening weekend and/or week...but that seems like it would become quite costly to keep an employee present for three months.

Define expensive Draegs, when you have a mega-mutli-million dollar ride that might need "expert" maintenance while your own maintenance staff gets up to speed. The parks most likely consider it as the cost of 3 months of "training" of their staff...

I know I'm dissapointed with CP. Iwas there for 4 days and got 0 rides on TTD. This is the second year in a row I went to Coaster Mania and did'nt get to ride the new coaster. It was a 10 hour ride from CT. Why did they tell us at lunch they had the parts and were working around the clock to get it up, and still it was closed on sat. and sun.I think they should put up a big sign on the parking lot entrance TTD will be closed today. SFNE did when they were having problems with SROS. Lets face it a park puts in a new ride to get more people to come to the park.Another question I have is did Intamin give CP money back for all the parts the took off the TTD ie the tires, motors and fins. At least I got to ride WT this time.IMO they should have let B&M build it.
Ajr,

What expreience does B&M have in launched rides (other than Hulk)? Oh, that's right..........NONE.

Granted if I had attended CMania and for the second straight year their new coaster was down, I'd be a little miffed too. But, you know what, the park wants the ride open as much (if not more) than all of us.

You buy a car and have all the extras added, leather appointments, sunroof, spoiler. You suddenly decide you don't like this and want those thigns removed and your money refunded. Know what the dealer does? Laughs in your face.

Second, what makes you think B&M would have had any more success? I've never heard of a B&M rocket coaster.

WW is fun. CP_M @ TN and Perfectbowler @ SFN.

:) , they removed these parts bec. the trains are too heavy bec. the engine lacks of power.
The motor lacks no power get that in your head. It has no problems whatsoever making it over the tophat. The parts were removed because they were not as secure as was originally thought. A tire came flying off the ride at 90 MPH or so.

B&M build what they *know* they can deliver, and I don't think they should be thought any less of for that. No more than Intamin should be bashed for pulse-pushing rides that need time to work correctly. I'm really sick of this B&M versus Intamin crap. None of you really know what B&M have in store for the future, so you really need to lay off before you find your foot in your mouth.

Hulk's launch had nothing to do with B&M. B&M built the ride then a different company came in a assembled the lunch.
