Can we please forget about dueling/racing Intamin Rockets? It's not going to happen, even Jeff confirmed this in a roundabout fashion in a recent post over at GTTP:


Before everyone gets all horny about a dueling ride, consider the (alleged) magnitude of the ride and how it would look on the skyline in a certain few colors.

So forget about the dueling rollercoaster and accept that the top hat is going to be red, white, and blue with all three colors being visible on the skyline and, most likely, from the causeway.

thank you...that's settled...now move on to other ideas folks...not dueling or racing...it's not...really...it's not.

Not really - remember "the Mantis affect" over in the Millennium Force area. Mantis has had larger queues the past three seasons than in the couple before that.

2001 Magnum Crew

While in the Millennium Force line on Sunday, I talked to someone that works for Zamperla. He said the new ride would be an Intamin rocket coaster, 125mph and 410' I believe. I think he said the station would be located over by Gemini. Sounds like a winner to me.

I say since it's so close to Frontier Town it should be called Billy Bronco Buster's Big Blast and be rustically themed. Billy Bob was a legendary bronco buster, you see...until he met this one steer that kicked him so far 'way nobody never seen 'im again.

You could add an awful lot of atmosphere for cheap--rough-hewn boards with sawed-out imprints of airborne cowboys, cowbells, washtubs, etc. You could subject people in the queues to all sorts of pickin' and grinnin'.

The station could have been themed to the backstage of a rodeo, where you're about to get mounted on the steer yourself. Get ready, get set, yeeeeeeeehaaawwwwww.......

And of course, there'd be an ungodly parade of 'Aah dun tamed the Bronco' t-shirts and false Billy Bob teeth for sale by the exit.

I swear they shoulda talked to me first.

Holy shnikes!! I'm very surprised that CP has track for the new ride sitting behind Mean Streak, right next to Perimeter Road! It's especially curious considering all of the secrecy that surrounded the MF track as it sat in the old boneyard in '99. They certainly don't seem too worried about keeping it a secret this time around! I think that this will definitely attract some unwanted attention to that area as anyone can just roll up to the new track and have a look!
