track sighted at Cedar Point!!

It would be cool if you guys got a hot rod themed rocket coaster like Xcelerator. The trains are so cool, as well as the theming. It would be perfect next to your coasters resturant (if thats where the ride is going).

The track will not be 50 feet above the ground after the launch if the track is sloped. Slanting the track up enough to get that high would really make a weird station, since Xcelerator's station is slanted already. maybe having it 25 feet off the ground would work, and have it rise another 12 feet or so like Xcelerator.

About the no stapling, please comment, if you expect a 3 inches of space ride, you're not going to find it. Stapling should be within reason, but the bladder pain stapling on Xcelerator's opening week was just too much. Now it feels just right, maybe just a little too tight. You still get air though even with the tighest stapling.

FYI, Xcelerator's current capacity is around 600pph, not including the regular 4 hours of downtime. Xcelerator may haved proved itself a very good ride, but it certaintly hasn't proven itself a high capacity/reliability ride. It breaks down all the time. To settle capacity issues, I would have a much longer train (upwards of 32 passengers), and also a roll out of the station and then launch, just so that the 2nd train doesn't have to wait 30 seconds to come into the station. Or, have shorter trains, a dual track station, and roll out to a launch.

Someone said they don't think a 400ft + coaster is going to happen for a while, Jeff replies "ye of little faith...? Maybe it's a hint about CP's new coaster?

Hey jeff. you say theres something we won't like about this. How much will we not like whatever it is?

Hey, I like Italian. It's pretty hard to mess up pasta! The spaghetti at Carowinds was actually pretty damn good (when I ate at the park two years ago...).

What are you talking about StarCoasters? lol

I'd assume that the factor most like is the ride length. Think about it...any amount of track while traveling 110-120+ mph will seem miniscule.

About the track looking narrow: It doesn't look narrow to me, but taller than normal. I've seen certain B&M's (the speed coasters) have varying depth of the spines seemingly related to stress. I think it was mostly in the valleys. Is this track really taller than "normal" Intamin box track, or was MF's track like that too?

If we are breaking new ground in terms of speed and height, perhaps Intamin made the track a little taller to stand increased stress?

About the reliability of the rocket at Knotts: Hopefully Intamin will make improvements. This will be second gen. S&S improved the reliability of Dodonpa (after it opened of course) vs. Hypersonic. Hopefully Intamin will follow along the same lines.

I would almost guarantee that the element Jeff is referring to about enthusiasts hating is going to be the length. Who would complain if it was only 200ft tall but 4,000ft long?

I was thinking that the track looked odd as well, but I looked at the track pics from MF's construction over at GTTP and they look perfectly similar.

I just wonder how long it will take for the Soak City parking lot to look like this: http://www.guidetothepoint.com/gallery/img.asp?img=h-mfconst108.jpg

At least I hope it will look like that...I want a lot of extra track...not just the Xcelerator length...but if it is, that's great too.

Thanks, CPgenius. You settled it about the track looking funny. Guess it is the same!

Can't wait to find out the official stats. I think I'm going to have to go to CP in 2003 for this monster.

My goodness those colors are ugly!

If it is in fact a racing/dueling coaster, you know what SFMM will just say that Colossus and S:TE are each 2 coasters in 1...

I don't think SFMM is going to do that.

Like I said before, if enthusiasts are going to complain, it's going to be two things: "It's too short" or "I wanted more bunny hops". Enthusiasts for the most part are walking cliches, they're not hard at all to predict.

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

Oh can we please not bring up this whole SFMM vs CP thing? Cedar Point won't make a claim like that. They didn't do it with Gemini so what makes you think that they will do it with the 2003 ride (that's IF it is a racer).
Um, I think they would call it 2 different coasters. It would be pretty hard to fit a racer there but a dueling rocket coaster would fit better. Thus, it would probably be 2 different coasters on 1 plot of land.

Racing is very different from dueling, kRaCLeRidAh.

If it was a dueling coaster, they'd be very right to claim it as two different coasters.

But I doubt it will be (thought it would be cool, and would certainly solve capacity issues).

First off, it's NOT going to duel or race, so what's the point?

Secondly, I really hate it when just as the discussion is getting exciting, someone drops a SFMM or SFWOA into the discussion just to stir things up. You'd think at this stage of the game, we'd be smarter than to fall for the same ole' same ole'.

Maybe it's not Intamin track after all. Mabye this is that dualing wild mouse thing. I mean, it is an odd year

There has been Intamin track posted...next!
