track sighted at Cedar Point!!

Yes, Taipan, it's been considered...I believe there were nearly a dozen posts or perhaps more discussing it already. Please read ALL the posts before commenting.

I have no clue what it's going to be, but the speculation at the park is crazy. The Troika/Chaos situation sounds like those two rides are moving to the Schwabinchen area, and the old bar whore is being retired from active duty. Corkscrew and Super Himalaya will be trained on each others' rides and combine crews for Halloweekends and the Troika employee break area will be closed, all beginning Sept. 2nd according to what has been told to me by Troika employees. Corkscrew should have lockers in front of it's entrance next year, due to the entrance to the new ride theoretically being located very near there. This should help with guest complaints about the Corkscrew carry-on policy, and eliminate the walk-on at that ride (which it has been most of the season).

That's all I can add to the topic.

What I think Jeff is saying is that we are not going to like the wait for this ew ride!¡! because this ride is going to generate so much press!¡!

-----------------

I think that Jeff's clue points out that it won't be at outlandish heights. Think about it, what does everybody want it to be? A 400ft. Intamin Rocket. I don't think it will be over 400ft. I want it to be, because I think a partriotic themed tophat 400ft. tall would look awesome from the causeway.

Call me SpongeBobAlex.

I am so suprized...really I didn't see another coaster at Cedar Point coming SO soon. What's even cooler is this makes it CP's 5th Intamin. Along with the 5 awesome arrow CP is getting better and better.

Large spider thing...yellow support...hmmm.

Well if I remember the construction photos of Xcelerator correctly, the yellow support will be part of the main supports for whatever is going to be the tallest section(tophat?). That will support the cross members and diagnals of that structure. Are we looking at the same thing you are calling the "spider thing"?

Hey, whens Jeff getting back? Didn't he go to Cp. He's gotta be back pretty soon. I'd like to hear what he says.

Oh yeah, just wondering, has any topic in the history of CoasterBuzz gotten 200 posts in one day, lol. That could be an aim for us! I dont think we're trying to set a record though here, Cp will do that for us.

I think that cedar point is going to break the speed record for a rollercoaster not making it the tallest!¡!

I am not the triangle in the orchestra any more!¡!

Yes, I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same "spider thing", but since rcdb seems to be down, I can't confirm that it's the main support for the tophat or not ....

Geez, i'm actually so excited about this, i just noticed i stayed up all night... Overhere (Holland) it's allready 7.30 am.

Looking at the curvature of the red track pieces and the height of them, i'd believe they'll make the pullout for the launch into the first tower. With that large of a radius, to make the G's tollerable, there's no doubt we've got a worldrecord for speed (logically, this could mean hight aswell) I've got a feeling this is gonna be rollercoaster-extavaganza...

Hey Jeff, one question: should i allready call the newspapers overhere?! :-)

I didn't have time to read EVERY word & had to make do with skimming through the thread. I'm not a newbie who doesn't know squat. You have the honour for being the first to tell me I haven't read all the posts in my near 2 years as a Buzzer. Sorry if I offended you. :)

I doubt it would be a Rocket Coaster, I have a strong feeling it would be a multi-looper like Collusus* mind spelling. And another thing why does everyone think its a Rocket Coaster?

Hey just off subject for a second but Helios, since your from Holland...Ive just been itching to know how Goliath is. Have you been on it? (I take it you have.) How's the Stengle Dive?

Alright back on topic. Well those are some pretty good pictures too. A couple of those are funny cause you can see the guy taking them in the rear view mirror.

One question.....wheres the tan supports I've been hearing about. I've just seen yellow.

Over at GTTP, Jeff said
"If plans stay as they are, the announcement still won't be for awhile. However, given all of the information out there combined with this sighting shouldn't make it rocket science (pardon the pun)."

Perhaps I took this quote the wrong way and he was just being polite, but I really think that the coaster is going to be an intamin rocket. Every scrap of evidence thus so far seems to point to such a conclusion.

However, for years enthusiasts have been commenting that Cedar Point could use a good sitdown, multi-inverter. Could this new coaster really be it? I don't think so, but I guess it's still too early to completely rule out the possibility.

edit: this was in response to NITROman's inquiry re: an Intamin rocket......since there's NO way they're gonna have room for a lift hill.....and they used KBF to work out the kinks...same "limited space" type thing....and there's already too many people "in the know" who have dropped sufficient clues, etc. The *one thing* Jeff's referring to therefore would be ride duration....(Xcelerator, H:XLC)....

of course, I only have conjecture, etc. Now if the 400+ foot barrier DOES go down, I'll be at CP for the first possible ride I can get....and I'll work EVERY angle to try and get there early....

.....but unlike my friend jeremy, I'm all about the reduced waits for Mean Streak.....mmm....

BTW, my "guess" is that this thread does set a record for most posts within 24 hours....mods?

Everyone(Most people) know(s) that its an Intamin rocket coaster but no one(Well only a few people) knows for sure how tall it is going to be. I personally think it's going to be over 300 feet but I could be wrong. Just my thoughts though........

The Coaster Gods have answered our prayers. That would be great if it get painted red, white, and blue. Cedar Point is going to need a bigger parking lot for the crowds this one will bring in.
