Where are all those people who insisted it would be something other than a flat ride in a box? Every time new evidence came out, such as pictures of the footers and RideMan's debunking of the 40+ million dollar budget, many people continued to deny themselves the truth. Flat ride in a box is better than nothing, next time don't be so quick to swallow everything a park's PR department pushes on you.

SFA 2002-What are they building?
To call it a "flat ride in a box" is belittling an attraction that none of us has experienced yet. IMO labeling this investment as a "flat ride in a box" is equivalent to calling Space Mountain at Disney a Galaxy in a shed, or Spiderman at IOA a 3D movie in a warehouse.
I am very excited about this project at PKI. What other park is adding anything remotely as extravagant as this for 2002? None.
I also am sad that the hard working folks at PKI have to compete with such speculation and leaks. This is like someone spending thousands of dollars on a surprise party, only to have an invitee tell the "secret" to the person for which the party is intended.
Shame shame on Screamscape for publishing any valid/invalid information of which they should not be privy. It is not their project to show off. Heh Heh, Screamscape sure has changed their minds about the 2002 PKI project over time. Seems I recall "info" on the site mentioning a possible Scooby Haunted Mansion, Flying Dutchman and/or Liquid Coaster. Tsk Tsk Tsk
Batten down the hatches folks, it's gonna be a long winter.

Really, that is really lame of Screamscape. PKI went to a lot of trouble to do something unique with the devolpment of this ride, and to see any of that go to waste is a shame. Frankly, I also think it was pretty uncool of Jeff to pretty much let the cat out of the box on the CP Impulse (if that is in fact what it is). Just let the parks do their job....

You will be HOT and you will be COLD. You will be wet, and you will be dry.
I'll leave it at that...

If you see me running, try and keep up!
Even the "almighty" Jeff thought there was no way it could be a Giant Top Spin. Nobody wanted to really believe. They thought it had to be a simulator or something. Who's yo daddy now? :)
It may cost a lot, but like I speculated in the past, there's probably a lot of special effects going on during the ride itself and the experience begins way before you board the ride. Probably begins while waiting in the queue line, and then there's probably something cool before you get on the ride as well.

...lol... ::shifty eyes::
Yea, I figured it would be a giant top spin too, I can imagine the theming possibilities for it... just as shaggy mentioned.
Then... chicken chute here I come. :o(
Sure, I understand coasters sometimes ostrocize people that don't ride em, but what about those of us that don't ride spin-n-pukes?

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

my mom will probably have to do the same thing. :( she's ridden well over 100 coasters, but she just doesn't do spin and pukes.

BRAVO!
You said exactly what I wanted to say......but before I could say it.
For those that are still expecting a 'top spin in a box' have to realize that this isn't going to be a 'let's enclose the ride and open it' type of attraction. Ohio (and the midwest for that matter) haven't seen anything like this as far as theming and the overall experiance goes.
It wouldn't surprised me in the slightest to see a semi-large backlash to PKI on this board from "didn't build what I thought they would build" kind of folks. People have to realize that getting your hopes up for such a secret attracton, then whinning when something shows you your guess isn't what you thought it would be, is a dead end street.
So, for those that are itching to voice your negatvive opinion on why PKI "let us to believe it was something else", remember that PKI did exactly what they wanted to do. They wanted people to speculate about what the ride would be, but they never once said something about the attraction that wasn't true.
