Tomb Raider at PKI: Questions answered!

Thanks Sean. That helped a little. I'm guessing it flips 5-6 times, but the intensity I'm confused on. I do find BTR a little more intense than Vortex, lol. Would you say many of the flips are backwards?? Put a spoiler on it if you need to Sean, but I need to figure out if I want to ride this beast. =Op

I'm about 6' 5" and its kinda hard to fit in the restraints becasue the OTSR comes tight against my shoulder, but at least they do have a test seat.

So what is better? SFMM or CP? I don't care! They both have 29 coasters between them that they build so we can have a good time!

Woah woah woah, Mamoosh this is a family friendly site let's leave the XXX rated stuff out of our posts. LOL!

PS Sean, I don't want to know even if you did.

thinking here is that with Sean naked, capacity wouldn't be a problem....j/k Sean....;)

....and that Angelina Jolie's dressing room would have an exceptionally long queue...(and that the "single-riders" line would be of no help)....

bill, thinking he's really stretching the limits of a "family-oriented" site, but that Chuck REALLY set that one up...

The ride is like nothing else. You start off by doing a complete flip, then you go right up to the main wall in the room. You do a flip and a half and go up to the ceiling and there are these HUGE glacier pieces. You then get tossed around and drop tro the bottom where there is hot water boiling. Really cool to see. Overall there are four inversions. What made my ride so cool is Angilena Jolie actually rode the ride right beside me!! She even ate pizza afterwards with me and my family. It was so cool. I am disappointed in Kings Island though because when I went to ride this thing the second time they said it had broke down! And none of the good coasters were open. Peace Brandon

Newbie, I hope you're being sarcastic. Unless you think that the Lara Croft model there actually was Angelina Jolie.

He let the contents of the bottle do the thinking; can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding.

Too bad they couldn't let Lara get wet on the ride, then walk around in the cold... that would be an attraction in itself! :)

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...

::drools and Runs to PKI as fast he can!::

The person who came out of the cave wasn't the real Angelina Joline, it was just a model.

Mr. Bungle to answer your question there is an exit in the antechamber prior to going into the main chamber.

In the main chamber, how many "groups" of effects are there? Such as one group would be the lave and one group the icy stalactites and one group the statue thing,... This is really going to be sensory overload, lol. Hopefully, they let you clearly see all the effects and you don't move too much to miss anything.

They aren't grouped really.

You will not miss any effects. The effects are staged with the ride movements to allow for maximum sensation. The designers use the ride's movements to direct your attention to the different scenic and visual effects.

In other words, the ride stops several times just in front, above, below or beside effects.

The darkness also gets pierced by lighting effects drawing your eyes to certain areas.

DONT CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!!!!

Well, that doesn't answer my question at all. But thanks anyway.

And thanks to the others who did answer my question. If it gets really dark, she might get a little frightened and I wouldn't want to do anything that could possibly upset her. They can just wait for me at Hanna-Barbara Land :).

Bah! to the Naysayers, but I thought the idea was cool (when I was working with the rumors of a Top Spin). The actual description makes it even more interesting. I think I even described how this system would work in a much earlier thread, though they've gone far above and beyond my own simplified ideas. Sounds awesome, and if I can get my friends scheduled with Coastermania and Coasterbuzzcon, I'll be happy! :)

Sounds awesome, although I must admit I wasn't sure that they would actually flip people over. Hope it's actually a smoother flip than the regular Top Spins so that the people who get serious motion sickness could still enjoy it.

I can't wait to ride Tomb Raider tomorrow. I am going with my friend Orthur. I hope I do not get my hair to wet then it will frizz out!
