Terminator themed GCI to open at Magic Mountain on Memorial Day weekend 2009

(Which should be decent considering this park generally themes a lot more extensively than the other Six Flags properties).

Like Scream? ;)

kRaXLeRidAh, I really can't wait to see how creative they get with that storyline...lol. Forced never works.

Maybe Christian Bale sports a "woodie" in the new film? ;)

It'd be better if he was swearing at the DP. That's entertaining.

Naming a coaster after a movie seems so... short-sighted to me.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

Haha. :)

No, I meant more like Ninja, Batman, Goliath, Tatsu, The Riddler's Revenge, and Superman The Escape.

Hopefully Scream will get an X2/Medusa/SROS treatment in the future.

Thanks for the info. Sounds great. Can't wait to ride the coaster and see the theming. I will be there sometime between 5/26 and 6/5.

My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.

Let us know how awesome it was to fight the robots by riding a wooden coaster. I'm sure that there are a lot of people wondering.

Lol. Don't worry. I'll be sure to include it in my trip report after that visit. LK, I am sure you really want to know, right? The new article about the queue, which was posted today, is encouraging. And no, I have never seen a fight at MM.

You can slam the theme of the ride and what park it's in all you want. GCI makes fantastic coasters, and their newer ones are even better than the older ones, in my experience. I'm pretty excited to see a major park like this bucking the "add whatever is trendy" routine by building a GOOD medium-sized wooden coaster, with or without a themed queue.

Pass da' sizzrup, bro!

Who is slamming the ride?

The old one's a pretty damn good. OzCat and Thunderhead are currently at the top of my GCI list of awesomeness. Renegade is a close 3rd.

Thanks Moosh, we finally agree on something! This has been my point for years, who cares about the theme or queue if the ride itself is good? Heavy theme does help when you go the Disneyland route, (lackluster coasters, heavy theme) but we all know SF will never go that far, so don't expect it and hope for a good caster.

I love Scream, despite its parking lot location and lack of queue elements. And Terminator looks great too, with or without the added queue.

An excellent ride with little-to-no-theme elements is always better than a bad ride with excellent theme elements (see: Mummy).

I sure hope you're talking about the West Coast version. I <3 the one in Orlando.

"GOOD medium-sized wooden coaster"

Soggy, I believe that pretty much sums it up. I get a kick out of these articles which describe Terminator as a family coaster. Just because it isn't "record breaking", doesn't mean it is a family coaster. This is a family coaster.

^^Yes, Jeff.

GCI=cool!
SF=suckfest.

I'm not knocking the actual ride at all. It's what SF is planning on doing with it that I find strange.

^ Theming a coaster is strange?

I hear that termonex is a sponser for the new ride.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
