Six Flags Worlds of Adventure to get approval for hyper

Posted | Contributed by Alan

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure has been granted a height variance to build a 210-foot coaster in the Bainbridge Township side of the park. As a condition of the approval, the park agreed not to build in residential and forested areas, and agreed not to seek annexation to the City of Aurora.

Sounds great! I would love to ride a 210 foot hyper near home! ;)

Ha... annex to Aurora... why would they do that? Aurora won't let them build anything!

So the questions begin... just what do they want to build? This is a big opportunity for them. If they can build something of the Superman variety they'll certainly win over a lot of enthusiasts.

S:RoS, baby.

Doesn't it seem as though morons always have the caps lock on?

Woo!! Where would they be able to put this?? I cant see it in my head!!
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the manufacturers that produce a traditional hyper coaster. Another question would be where? The Bainbridge section is tight..maybe behind The Villian in the field adjacent to the parking lot.

Something along the lines of S:RoS would be great, but not another identical clone. Call up Intamin and have them take SFNE's SRoS and Expedition GeForce as inspiration.

Or give Morgan another go, they did very well on Phantom's Revenge after all ;)

This is GREAT NEWS! Superman will be flying high next year

ALL CLEAR

Please please please please God let it be of the Superman variety....if necessary, even a clone will do, thanks.

You're right, Jeff. This is a huge opportunity the park - it will give SFWOA the high-profile "tall" coaster they don't have now. Depending on which coaster this is, this could propel them to a level or ride diversity and strength that would be unparalleled, in my opinion.

Very nice! Good news! A 210footer is a great addition to the park. They already pretty much have everything. I sure hope it will be like SRoS identical to Six Flags New England. Looks like 2003 will be another break out year :).

I wonder if they will interlace it or theme it to their new land they are building coming this fall? It could be of the Goliath theme having to do with the volcano they are building? This could be pretty interesting!

I just hope it will be an Intamin and not a Chance Morgan!

I'm assuming you're talking about the SFA and SFDL versions? Trust me, if it's a clone of the SFNE version, you may never want to leave the park! (Or maybe that's just me! :))

I would like to see one of those twisting camelbacks like goliath at SFH.

Is it true its always happy hour here? If it is I'd like to stay a while....

210 feet, same as Apollo's Chariot. Maybe you can get a B&M. You can't beat the B&M hyper trains and restraints, they are so open and allow mega air time.

210 ft. does not mean neccesarily mean Magnum/S:RoS/whatever style hyper. It could be an impulse, a premier shuttle, or any number of other things.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

And let's remember folks: the can dig a tunnel, so while the lift may be 210' high, the drop can be MUCH longer ;-)

Matthew [with fingers crossed for an Intamin]

Don't forget "Operation Graduation" June 1st @ SRM - bring Pat Koch a graduation card! See Coasterbuzz News for details.

Even if it is a Superman clone, I doubt it will be Superman themed. The park already has one Superman themed ride on the opposite end of the park. Unless the station is near S:UF, it doesn't make sense, although I guess I shouldn't put anything past SF.

Besides a traditional hyper, 210 feet also sounds about the right height for a 4-D. Let's not keep that possibility out of the picture.

Whatever it is, I am getting excited...

I get the feeling there's a conspiracy over at King's Island to remove anything that has "K" or "C" in its initials.
