Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

Sounds like with Hannibarrels its a situation of "too costly to fix" and "even more costly to remove." It would be nice to see it running again or a new flat replace it.

its in the woods.........
SFStL could definately use an influx of newer generation flat rides and a revamped kiddie area.

I moved away from SFStL in 1994 and have only been to the park a dozen times or so since then, but besides the coasters and the pay attractions there hasn't been much of a change since then. I realize HH was a huge addition and I'm glad they added it, but I'm talking flats here.

Have they added anything new to the kids area? I really don't know. But I would assume little, if anything, has been done to that area in the last decade. And look at all the newer kids rides that have hit other parks in the last few years. I may be wrong, but this area certainly looks like it could be dramatically improved.

As far as flats are concerned, and correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Rush Street Flyer the second newest flat in the park. I realize that Time Tunnel, err Castaway Kids, umm Scooby Doo has been revamped and sounds like a success but what about spin and pukes. They've added some pay attractions but none of the new and thrilling flats. Is there a park out there as big as SFStL that doesn't have a drop ride of some sort? And the one in the graveyard doesn't count. Their selection of flats just flat out blows IMHO.

Now I realize where SFStL stands in the chain and I'm not saying they should get a huge influx of new flats and a new coaster every 3 years. But a drop tower and 1 or 2 other new flats could certainly help.

Bucsh Gardens Tampa
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Hersheypark
Six Flags Marine World

don't have drop rides, but 3 of the parks and SFStL have coasters with forward or reverse 90 drops.

Rush Street Flyer showed up in the park in 1981 I think, or somewhere close to that. Reguarding the kids area, I think that if they would just add some more shade it would improve a lot.

Well it has been long rumored that Looney Tunes Town was going to be moved elsewhere in the park, along with Moon Cars in order to make room there for the next B&M coaster (it was Medusa the last time I heard the rumor). Maybe they'll finally do that?!?!

Rush Street Flyer was added well after 1981. I specifically remember the ads on tv and I remember taking my eight grade field trip to SFOMA the year it opened. That would have been 1990.

Thanks LaMarcus for the list. But it makes my point. There are very few parks the size of SFStL that don't have drop rides. I can't think of any reason why one doesn't exist at SFStL. I know SFML has some height restrictions, but it's surprising that they don't have one either.

Of the other parks, the one that's a surprise is Hersheypark. But they are getting a Frequent Faller next year. Not exactly a drop ride but close enough. I guess Busch just doesn't want anything to do with them. At least it's a company-wide policy (BG's and the SW's).

I am pretty sure that the manufacturers badge on the ride signifies that it was erected in the early eighties. Any other employees confirm that?

I'm 100% sure the Rush Street Flyer opened in 1987.

Oh and for the record, WOF is adding a new multi-layered foam ball play area in Camp Snoopy

Multi-layered? Like a cake? Do you get to pick your own icing?

Anyway, FoamBall Factories are the best reason EVAR to steal a kid. *** Edited 12/7/2004 11:55:03 PM UTC by CoastaPlaya***

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

And a new campground!

Well yes, and that too. We are pretending that isn't being added though as we feel that it is not the right time for its addition. However, it just might be packed full most of the summer in 06 as B&M IS COMING. Thank God, finally.

We're getting a B&M in 06? SWEET! Thanks man!

"Tornado Warning" for Six Flags St. Louis in 2005.
I think one slide is just going to make situations worse for the water park. I can see more people coming, which are good for the pockets, but one slide, with lines longer than the coasters in the park, isn't going to make anyone come back soon.

I shouldn't be complaining, at least it's something.

If it gets people through the gates, that is all that matters. Get those numbers up, and we will get our coaster.

PS: I got my Christmas card from Six Flags today. When you shake most christmas cards you get some money, but this one just spit out a rehire slip. Thats good too I suppose.
