Woa! Is sling shot really gone! That is quite a shocker to me even though it wasnt permanent, it was there for 3 years.
It is not a suprise. I thought that the slingshot was only supposed to be there for one year anyways, but since it was successful they decided to keep it for awhile. It is possible though that is is folded up for winter, being moved to a different section of the park, or getting some off-season re-hab, but who knows. I saw a list of the new changes for the 2005 and slingshot was not listed. There is along list of new things throughout the park that everyone can look forward to, but I wont spoil the suprise. Keep a look out for some stores and games though. *** Edited 2/8/2005 1:47:45 PM UTC by CoasterMatt***

River King Mine Train Op 2004
Mr. Freeze Op 2005

The Slingshot IS still standing upright in the same spot at the park and is probably not leaving before the season begins.

It has never been actually represented on the park map, only a number placed where it is located at.

Going INTO the park tommrow and thursday for the last time as an employee. Will let you guys know whats going on.

Bossstl, why is it your last time as an employee what happened? Also I did look at the site and sling shot wasnt listed on the rides and all the other pay attractions were but who knows.
Here is an updated from all you winter ravaged enthusiasts. There is general construction around ever turn. Especially towards the front off the park. Drove into HH today to get some stuff, and the slide's skeleton looks done and is middy impressive. The thing is much bigger then I remember. New paint and wood on almost everything.

Right now they are heavily working on the two woodies. I think however the park brought in a pretty good size work crew. I say this because much like last year the boss has a construction trailer, and there are many NON-Sixflags trucks parked around it. There will be some new foods around the park.

I guess that’s about it, fresh paint on a lot of buildings and Colossus, and the Tornado. As far as why today was my last day, well that can be answered by anyone that received a orientation list of new things for 2005, or has gone to orientation.

I may return, I just might. I know a couple of Matt's that may not want me back. ;)

P.s I am still putting my money on 06...

Wow! 2005 is gonna be much better than what I expected. I guess the park is getting ready for what is to come in 2006.

B&M will be building 3 new roller coasters for Premier Parks for 2006. I don't have locations.
I thought the Lemon Chill guy wasn't throwing out hints till the season started.

Maybe B&M didn't get the memo that they changed the company name a bazillion years ago. Yeah, bazillion. That long ago.

Or maybe Buckstah didn't get the memo. Yeah, I'm banking on that one.

Yawn. How's that B&M hat going?

My hats doing fine Jeff, thanks. I was told yesterday those exact words, maybe I should've used quotations, to make it obvious. My Hat is doing fine, thanks for the concern.

If you're going to quote me, Buckstah, at least get it right! That's not what I told you the other day ;)
Well after being at the park today I thought I would just back up what some other people have said. First the gleaming pieces of Tornado look sweet and the metal part of the structure is already in place and it is huge! Almost as tall as speed slides. It was confirmed today in the meetings that Collosus is getting repainted and I think it already has because the gondolas looked real bright. I couldnt tell if front mall had much changes but apprently they are rearranging some of the shops. There is also very high standards for guest service this year. We are putting are best foot forward in rides including more guest interaction and efficiency. There are still very many numerous projects going on; either way, 2005 looks very promising and lots to look forward to!
can't wait to go in March!

All that painting going on and I bet the Screamin Eagle still will look dry and weathered. Forget Collosus... paint the Eagle already, it's about 10 years past due!

Steve

I agree

I agree to it needs a paint job and the lights need to be fixed too. Also Six Flags St. Louis needs a huge unique steal coaster! I know we have the Batman and Mr. Freeze but you can also find the same ride at others Six Flags Parks. I think that could help are Six Flags improve more.
The machine company that my dad works for has been working on the Ninja a lot lately, and I'm not sure what they are doing for it. They have also put in a bronze bushing on Collosus so it sounds like SFSL has been working a lot with Collosus. In the past they have fixed the bumper cars (forgot the name) and the Log Flume. BTW, the company is named South Side Machine, Boz773. *** Edited 2/17/2005 2:04:03 AM UTC by stlcoasterguy77***

Hmm I wonder what is going on at Ninja, do you know if it is routine winter maintenance or something new and special? I am so excited about this year. Even though the suspected coaster isnt here this year, they really put their money to good use and corporate gave us a good end of the deal this year. A new colorful slide for the waterpark (much needed), major facelifting going on and from being an employee we are working really hard on guest service and enjoyment for everyone and we are working hard on employee competence and providing not just thrills but entertainment as well for guests.
