Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

It may get people through the gates once, but if something got them threw the gates more than once, "we" would get your coaster sooner.
Myself, I dont really care for Hurricane Harbor! It's always too crowded there! They need more shade too. I would rather get sumthing in the park this year!

So yeah like it was before mentioned it appears, that SFSTL is getting a Tornado slide. I am happy the parks getting it but seems like a dumb idea to get one from a marketing perspective. There is one 3 hours away and there will be one 4 hours away soon. SFSTL, I can see a long, bleak and rather slow season ahead. I jsut hope the park can hunker down and hold out. I am afraid if this season is too bad, that the coaster planned for 06 could be castrated or scraped altogeather.

One final note I will be in the park within the next two weeks when I find time to drop of some equipment off. I will try and let you guys know for sure were its goeing and maybe even take pictures.

Bossstl, try again.

Less than an hour to the closest 1. Raging Rivers has an earlier version of the same slide.

Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

Even though I am dissapointed that there is no new coaster for 2005 like there was so much rumors for, I am glad to see that the Harbour is getting something new because their numbers were dropping and they need an attendence there too. Yes it wont perk up attendence a whole like but it will still bring Harbors numbers up therefore bring the park a little more business. The water park hasnt gotten anything since it opened in 1999. And with the fact that there are slides like it nearby, who cares. People want to go a waterpark that is close, not far away just for one slide. There is also a wavepool, tube slides and speed slides at every water park as well. All they want to do is try to boost harbors numbers. Who knows maybe they will start construction on a hopeful 2006 coaster behind the new slide and people will see it and want to some back next year.
Well it was confirmed by the "group" ticket order form/flyer that was sent out to area youth groups that Tornado is coming. They are using the tagline "It will suck you in".

I don't mind a new tornado slide. It's cheap and will attract people which will be good for 2006.

I did not site the Alton tolit bowl because, its jsut that a tolit bowl. Its not anything like the tornados except for the hole in the middle. Its a completly diffrent ride.

Yeah, i'lll be going to SFSTL this summer to slide down on this Tornado Thing. But next season is the year that will make SFSTL more popular, I have a feeling bout it too. A BIG A$$ COASTER! LoL! = P

Well I am equally excited about about the new Tornado slide being added to SFHHStL. I think that some of you might be a little "premature" when it comes to 2006. Are you basing your new coaster rumors on anything solid? Also this new coaster better have a lot more "WOW" factor than the cross state's B&M inverted will have. It is being said that it is going to make BTR look like a kiddie ride and will actually take up more space than what the Express vacated. Also I think before SFStL adds anything else they need to rebuild the buildings/facades that are falling apart and add some decent flat rides.
This park is going into the crapper. Park execs can't even come up with a reason to add something decent to it. A slide!?! Is that all that this park is worth? One crappy slide in a water park that isn't even that good. You can go to Grafton, IL to raging rivers, That park is better than HH. There is even a water park in a little town called Farmington, MO that is better that HH and alot cheaper too. This park will be sold within the next 5 years and hope fully Busch will buy it and turn it into something decent, but wait a parking lot would be better than what it is now.
Whoa there little buddy. Anyone that has worked at the park since 2001, can tell you that the parks GM cares alot for his little park. Hes probably the main reason why the last two rides that went in got good themeing. Not to mention most rides that go into SF .inc parks or any parks for that matter get approval or are planned by the home office. Has nothing to do with park execs (too a point) In other words SF .inc probably called SFSTL shortly after IAAP and asked, "you guys wants a tornado slide thingy?" And the park jumped on it because other wise it would have got nothing.

As far as the 06 ride goes. I was informed back in October that it will be for 06. Now i would love to tell you who i heard this from. However, I choose not to say because I dont want it to hamper my job duties. Especially since I go into the park in the middle of winter. I dont wnat people thinking I go in there for looks when i am actully working. Its hard to explain and i expect none of you to understand even if I told you. Just take it or leave it, but been a charter member of this board since 2000.

Its not my choice if you choose to listen or discredit. I am just here to inform.

A tornado is a great addition. Anyone who thinks people would be willing to travel to Raging Waters over Hurricane Harbour just to ride a Tornado in existance before next year are weird. They'll see that a closer park is getting a new ride, and go to SFHHSTl.

Thankfully, with my sister at Grad School at GWU, I'll get to visit this park the next two years, so I don't care in which the new coaster comes.

Chattanooga needs a ITG2 Machine!
The slide at Raging Rivers in Grafton is not a Tornado slide, it is one of the bowl slides where you go around until you fall through the hole in the middle.

The Tornado is a different kind of slide, the Tornado is much larger and is tilted onto it's side. Some of you may need to watch this video to see what the Tornado is like. http://www.proslide.com/whatsnew/ProSlideTornado.rmvb

Man, SOMEONE from their marketing dept. needs to find a new job...;-P...:)

Want proof that coaster dorks can't see past their own noses?

Where do we start?

SFSTL, I can see a long, bleak and rather slow season ahead. I jsut hope the park can hunker down and hold out.

Yeah, just like HW did when they built the first one. And no new coaster. For years.

That's funny...when SFStl built their free lil' waterpark, WoF's attendance figures were never the same.

Myself, I dont really care for Hurricane Harbor! It's always too crowded there!

Egg. Freakin'. ZACTLY.
It's where everybody else besides you wants to go. And guess what? This year, it's gonna be five times worse.

They'll have to add more slides next year just to give the crowds more things to do! If they're smart, they'll add a clone of HW's Jungle Racer. Nothing in your park has air like the final hop on that slide. Nothing. And this is from a guy who considers The Boss his #1 woodie.

Hey I made that comment on what I have seen from the last 5 season I have worked there. So sorry if I am being pesamistic but the parks attendence has been steadly declining each year over all since 2000. Hey what the hell do I know I am jsut a coaster dork.

Also HW is a completly diffrent park althougher. The water park there on average back in the old days use to be more crowded then the amusment park.

Unless you're in management--and high enough in it to actually see numbers--you know as much as any season passholder who visits every week. Not much.

And HW being a different park altogether? Nobody's buying it who can see past their Coaster Jones. Exactly why you see Tornadoes popping up everywhere...

Maybe it's time a few coaster dorks slip their manboobs and bellies under a dark shirt and join everybody else in the 21st century. The coaster building craze is done and the waterpark age has begun. Besides, there's loads of homely folks with Flabulomas and BackFros already standing in line.

<Sarcasm>You know your absolutely right. I am sorry I ever went up against someone as smart as you. My many apologies to you sir. Sorry for the damage I may have caused to your ego.</Sarcasm>

I am not even going to sit here and argue with you. It’s pointless; I just simply state my opinions, knowledge and observation. Don’t really care if you or anyone else thinks I am right, wrong or crazy.

P.s. I don’t have a "BackFro", I have a "A$% Fro" with dread locks. So get it right

Why are people being so critical of SFStL. We enthusiast sit around all year and speculate about parks getting new rides, but criticize them if it is not a big new coaster. I don't understand. Six Flags St. Louis is a solid park that is definately building for the future. By the end of the 2004 operating season, the park was looking the best it has in a very long time, and the rides were in the absolute best condition. I don't see the point in comparing Raging Rivers to Six Flags. They are both nice parks with good assortments of attractions. Our town started out with one Subway restaurant a few years ago, and now we have three. Sure some people complained that it was too many, but honestly each restaurants always has a steady flow of customers. The point is that multiple similar buisnesses can operate in a relatively small geographic location. Honestly, Raging Rivers is the one who should worry since they have not added an attraction in over ten years. Thats all that I have for now.

PS: Bossstl, A$$ fro? eh? *** Edited 12/21/2004 12:42:28 AM UTC by CoasterMatt***
