Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

Also, are the 5 people wearing the Mamba and Wildfire shirts really the norm. Of course there are SOME people that are willing to make a 3+ hour drive to an amusement park, but that isn't the norm. The majority of people that go to WoF or SFStL I still believe are going to go to the closer park. It is just a matter of how often.

SDC is another story all together as most of the people that visit there are from out of town visiting Branson for its other rediculous attractions like Shogi (SP?), Jennifer, or the outlet malls. Can I get a Camp Kanakuk?

Tom - who would rather go to a Cardinals game than SFStL any day.

Down is the new up.
It is spelled Shoji. Actually a lot of them are coming for Pam Tillis, Ray Stevens, Andy Williams and Jim Stafford then anything else. We are starting to get more Vegas style shows in Branson now, though. They have a Broadway review show and Cirque, which is a Cirque du Soliel wanna-be show. Anymore though, I would say that a lot of people come to Branson for the HFEC attractions.

Regarding StL, I'll take a Cardinals game over Six Flags anyday. At least I will be entertained at Busch.

So the consensus is that the park is in more compitition with other St. Louis attractions than other parks. What other cities are in the same boat? SFGAm? Dollywood?
Most parks in major cities with only one major amusement park are in the same boat. That basically just excludes Orlando, SOCAL, and the top right. Given they are in SOME competition with other pakrs, but WoF and SFStL don't compete any more than CP and PKI do.
WOW! Is the zoo here really #1 in the nation? I didn't know that! Yeah, St.Louis Zoo is pretty kool. NICE themed areas like Penguin Encounter, Fragile Forest coming soon, and River's Edge. Very cool zoo. And yeah, I live only like 2 minutes away from Grant's Farm! I live next to the Busch family! Hahah! = P

That would be cool if Busch bought Six Flags St.Louis, I think they can make it a park that people uld visit from around the world...possibly! I can dream can't I?

We all can dream because a Busch park in St. Louis would be kool, seriously.

All I know is that "we" have this discussion every year and all the we get is a big let down. SFSTL is going downhill fast. That is why I got out of there when I did. Ride ops are getting slower and less intelligent therefore promoting Area Supes is getting horrible, look at who they have promoted in the past five years. I see a FEW good supes and alot of BAD supes. Not to mention they fire good workers and let others leave that are great workers. Politics and "favorties" are getting out of hand, if you aren't kissing the right a** then you might as well leave. Employee relations there is a joke also, they don't try to work any thing out with their workers. Rides are falling apart and I don't feel safe on even the flat rides. Fright Fest is a joke going to all of the area haunted houses is well worth the money compared to Fright Fest.

For the record this wasn't me... however I do have to agree with a little of it…

A park with friendly employees, two great woodies, a B&M masterpiece, wonderful modern launcher, and beautiful scenery? Sounds really nice. Whats that? Oh, they haven't added a coaster since Boss, and it's Six Flags? Ugh, Boycott it!

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

Wait a second I get it. You were using sarcasum.

However not that its been mentioned, SF HR is pretty bad off. However I dont think it the office workers fault for the most part. I think it manly has to do with there bosses. Along with a part of it being payroll. But what do I know I just goto them when I need to active/deactivate (they whine everytime) one of are workers ID's.

Also one more thing, to those employees that actully work for the park. Hows that new clocking in and clocking out proceedure treating ya. *Insert evil laughter*

Confirmed: SFStL is getting BENCH: the Ride™. It will be located in the Illinois Section of the park.

GET THOSE SEASON PASSES NOW!!!!

*sigh* the park is going to the pooper.

I was recently told from the machinery company that my dad works for that SFSL will not be getting a new coaster for 2005 and will come in 2006. Instead, we are getting new waterpark additions, and I am not sure what they are going to be. The reason that the machinery company knows about this is because they have been doing some maintenance for SFSL such as making a new bronze bushing for the ferris wheel. I will find out more on this when I go inside the park with the company later this month.

See told you guys I wasnt crazy. I may not even work for the park and jsut work there but I am telling you the plans are for 2006. You gotta save lots of pennies for lots of steel. And sounds like it will be a tornado slidy thing ala HW. Which is kinda funny since that will put possibly 3 of these things with in 3 to 4 hrs drive from one another.

As WoF removes 2 great coasters for a boomerang and a spinning coaster.

Ahhh, but then they have also added something every year as well to at least one of the parks. What did they add this past season at SFStL? Oh and what was added between the Boss and that used ride they called "new" two years ago? Sad isn't it when you put it into perspective.

Oh and for the record, WOF is adding a new multi-layered foam ball play area in Camp Snoopy along with the WoF Village (Deluxe Camper and Cabin Village). The WOF Village will be a lot like Lighthouse Point at CP.

Boy I hope they get that Tornado slide. They need a new ride at SFStL really bad.

To be fair, Swoosh, the only people who knew that ride was used were those who follow the industry. A very, very, very, very small portion of SFStL's attendence.
Does anyone know why the Hannibarrels just sit there? You could almost fit a nice S&S tower there. HINT HINT!

Nah, I'm not good at using sarcasm in text...just doesn't work the same.

Moosh - How much does the ride have to be used at the park was at previously to be considered "used". Actually as few times as it was open at GAdv, it might even be considered "new". ;)

I know, I know, noone knew about the ride being used until the news team "broke" the story about it not being able to pass safety regulations in 'Jersey and now SF sent it to MO because our standards are "lower" (their words). So yes they did know. :)

Cal - Isn't there some offices under it? Last time I checked there were.

When it broke way back when, SF corporate decided it would be too costly to purchase the new parts they needed. But the engineers at the park have been throwing out proposals to get it up and running again soon, and perhaps re-theme it or enclose it; so that people might think its a new ride, instead of "oh, its just those old hannibarrels". Which I am sure you guys would rip on anyways.....
