GCI should branch out and form a separate division specifically for wooden coaster trains...it really is a STRENGTH of their company, and those trains are the best thing that can happen to a wooden coaster (short of having ME marathon on it)...
....and just *imagine* how much Paramount would owe them if they could make GOOD trains for Sonny and save PKI *megamillions* in maintenance for THAT....beast...;)
Neither Paramount nor CF has even one coaster from them, it seems like an EXCELLENT way to "grow the brand"....
Oh, that's right, SFStL....love the place...:)
Was at the park for probably my last time this year on Thursday. There was nothing going on any were. The only thing out of the unusual is it seemed like the park was winterized quite quickly this year. Sorry kids guess we'll have to wait and see if I was right (unfortunately like usual) next year.
And has anyone else heard the rumor that the park might open a little earlier then when it usually does. Which is around April 20th? Kind of would like to figure out early this year when I need to go back into the park.
Also, the park is getting a something new in 2005 as was mentioned in the conference call last week.
Is it a coaster or a flat? That would awesome if we get a new original design coaster!!! I would be so excited. And it has been a tradition for me to go to Six Flags the first day it opens so I will keep that tradition up for 2005...I hope. If they get a coaster im there without a doubt. = D
If Six Flags is buying a lot of Tornado slides (which it looks like they are) then the park could easily get one of those. The waterpark has got nothing new since it opened in 1999 and a park of similar size SFFT got one last year. Or the park could get new kiddie rides and family rides similar to what SFGAm. or SFOG did in 2004.

Yes it is true according to the conference call made to the six flags investors that we are indeed getting something new. I am pretty sure it is not something major though. All of the major attractions were specifically mentioned in the call, such as Kinga Ka and the new chicago waterpark. Here was one thought that I had though. There were A LOT of rumors of a new coaster for 2006. I was thinking that if this were true, they would begin building at the end of 2005 which is why it would be included in the investment conference call although it would not be open to the public until '06. Just a thought, but probably not right.

Mr. Freeze Op 2005
Also something to chew on… I live 2+ hours away and I have talked to more than a few families/people that have given up on SFStL completely and started heading west two hours to Holiday World.
I would be curious to see the amount of "local" St. Louis people compared with the people that are in a two hour radius of St. Louis. My hunch is that the radius yields more than the city.
My Final Word: The parks are very much in competition for those people between them, just like any other pair of parks. If parks weren't, I wouldn't get bombarded with IB, HW, AND SFStL commercials in my hometown (Not that HW commericals are bad, Paula :-)).
Also if they weren't in competition why did we hear "it's playtime" in KC and "break out of your routine" in StL? And we hear SDC/CC/WWB commercials everywhere in the state. "Together we're the best that we can be....Together!"

If you believe that the parks aren't in competition, that who is SFStL in competition with?
My experience tells me that SFStL (as most other parks in big cities), is more directly in competition with the major sports franchises, the movies, the malls, and *touristy* stuff, etc., than they could ever be from another park HOURS away...
