Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

Yes it would be nice, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

^^Sadly the only place SW is going is the scrapyard.

SF gave up on trying to sell it to another park already.

So Drachen Wave Express isn't real??? :(

The Haunted Hayride is one of the most popular attractions during fright fest. The line is almost always at least an hour long, is that because it's popular or because only 4 tractors are running? The hayride could easily go even fruther up into the dump/graveyard area if a coaster was built where it runs now.

I don't expect a new coaster in 2005, no construction has started at all. I would be happy if the water park got a new Tornado waterslide and the theme park got something (drop tower, kiddie area rehab or another flat ride).

Nope. Shockwave is now being prepared to be melted down. It is in even more pieces than before.(If you know what I mean.)

Stop looking at the ride!
Long Live Shockwave!

R.I.P Baby, I'll miss you...:(

What are you talking about I already spotted crates behind Mine Train and I have heard a rumour about digging going on at the the eastside of the park by Screaming Eagle. *** Edited 10/16/2004 11:26:00 PM UTC by stlcoasterguy77***

There are cranes, I don't know if they are for a new ride or just general off season maintenance that they have every year. I know that the Boss is going to receive some more work this off season (along with the possibility of new trains). I heard that the digging was for utility work (whatever that means).

PTC trains?
Wouldn't a Superman themed ride go better in the DC area than the Gotham City Backlot? Just saying, doubt it will happen there because there is new room, but who knows really, SF is crazy!

All of those crates you can see whenever riding the regular Train or the Mine Train are what all of the Fright Fest decorations are stored in during the off season.
I am sure most of you have seen this rumor on Screamscape. http://www.screamscape.com/html/sf_st_louis.html

Lets just hope that they make the right choice and go with PTCs.

The east side of the park is really the only logical location for a new roller coaster if you look at the park property boundries, but I don't believe that 2005 will be the year for a new coaster. I think that during this off season money will be spent on general improvements throughout the park. Especially with Six Flags building a waterpark in Chicago and the world tallest roller coaster in New Jersey, I think their budget might be spent. I can't believe that any of you have a doubt in your mind that they wouldn't theme it after superman, reguardless of the so called "themed area" in which it would reside. Nearly every other Six Flags park has cashed in on the Superman market, so I would expect St. Louis to do the same (purely for merchandise reasons). Did you ever stop and think about how exactly the name "The Boss" fits into the Brittania section of the park. It really doesn't. As for the cranes that people may have seen around the park, they are there 365 days a year. They are usually sitting behind the scenes near the maintenance headquarters. (So don't get your hopes up just over that)

Well, hypers carry a very streamlined course, narrow and not many supports (compared to a Wooden coaster ya know) so... just run the Haunted Hayride under the coaster. Problem Solved.

There is no way that would ever happen, with the new safty policies that Six Flags has. Most employees are not even allowed to go near the coasters. Nearly every area within 50 feet of a roller coaster is a DANGER ZONE now, or a RESTRICTED AREA. If you look around the park, you will see these new signs everywhere.

By the way, who flippin cares about a hayride that last for only four weekends a year. I think that is last priority on most peoples minds.

Two months ago I never saw those crates behind Mine Train or where they store the FF stuff at so in my opinion I think it might have something to do with whats coming in 2005. I could be wrong though.

^^ So Batman's queue goes around the coaster now?
Some FF stuff is stored back by the Q-Bot line to B:TR. There is a bunch of stuff back there including some of the old Comic Book Adventure stuff and some old SFOMA stuff.

its in the woods.........
They store a lot of the decorations in Waterstreet Cab Company as well. If you do go to SFSTL during FrightFest, DO NOT MISS OUT on the upgraded bumper cars. They added in a huge sound system, covered all the windows, and added dance lights; so now whenever the ride is going, you got some kickin' songs and crazy lights. Its quite awsome. From what I hear, they are planning on keeping it like that for the rest of the year next season.

Six Flags St. Louis Screamin' Eagle Ride Op crew 2004 "Push down, pull up"
I could have rode it this weekend, but the wait was always like an hour long, must be very long.

The line is long, poorly ventilated and extremely claustrophobic -- not the best combination if you ask me.

All I know is that "we" have this discussion every year and all the we get is a big let down. SFSTL is going downhill fast. That is why I got out of there when I did. Ride ops are getting slower and less intelligent therefore promoting Area Supes is getting horrible, look at who they have promoted in the past five years. I see a a FEW good supes and alot of BAD supes. Not to mention they fire good workers and let others leave that are great workers. Politics and "favorties" are getting out of hand, if you aren't kissing the right a** then you might as well leave. Employee relations there is a joke also, they don't try to work any thing out with their workers. Rides are falling apart and I don't feel safe on even the flat rides. Fright Fest is a joke going to all of the area haunted houses is well worth the money compared to Fright Fest.
