Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

Whatever it is, I could probably see a Superman ride coming out of this, but dont count out Six Flags taking advantage of the Batman Begins rights to rides, they could use that to advertise the movie. Maybe a BB themed coaster, and a S:ToP.

its in the woods.........
*IF* sfsl is getting a new coaster for 2005 it will probally connect to the Warner Bros. Backlot themed area in back of BTR. Another possibility is that it could connect to the Old Chicago area behind Tidal Wave which would be good for that area because it is starting to deteriorate.

The park already has two Batman-branded rides and no Superman branded ones so if a new Sueprhero coaster was going to be added, I think that's a no-brainer. Of course, I remember saying that SFGAdv would never have two Batman rides and look what happened in '97!
Actually Rob, SFGAdv owns 3 coasters themed to the Batman series. ;)

I honestly think that if we see a new coaster it will go east of Tidal Wave and across the railroad tracks as they want to save the area over by WB backlot for a pending HH expansion.

If a coaster does go back by Tidal Wave, do you think it would be branded with a superhero character?

My head says no, but I have seen weirder things from parks.

Well of course! If they build a Superman coaster in the Illinois section of the park, it will fit the theme still as everyone knows that Metropolis is in Illinois (southern). ;)
They ought to accompany the new coaster with a new Midway or Themed Section that runs from the WB Backlot (Joker's Inc) to the Tidal Wave. The park needs a new area to breath some life into the old place.

^^ Ahhh! Good point Swoosh, but I don't give them that much credit to think of something factual like that.

I can see it now: Metropolis Machine coming in 2012.

If they connect it to Old Chicago, they will probally have to move the haunted hayride for Fright Fest, but the problem is I don't know where they would put the hayride. Now sfsl probally has to make a decision on to either get rid of the hayride or to connect the new coaster somewhere else which would possibly be WB Backlot. In my opinion I don't think they will get rid of the hayride because they aren't having the Brutal Planet haunted house anymore. The coaster might not even be named after Superman, but if it is I think it will fit in the WB Backlot area because I think thier was a Batman/Superman movie.

Coaster or hayride? Hmm... That one is tough. :-)
Well, hypers carry a very streamlined course, narrow and not many supports (compared to a Wooden coaster ya know) so... just run the Haunted Hayride under the coaster. Problem Solved.

Steve

I can't belive "we" are actually worried about a hayride being scrapped due to a rumored coaster. They would just do it in the parking lot like other SF attractions.
Do we really NEED a hayride? I mean when I think hayrides I think church youth group, not Six Flags.

Glad someone got it, Neuski. ;) I was afraid I went over everybody's heads.

It's a unique attraction, but for goodness sakes let's get a coaster and then we can start to complain.

beating a dead horse

Complain about the coaster? Huh, why? Oh you mean the hayride being gone. ;)

Actually if I told you what type of coaster was coming "you'd turn to stone."

Now why did you have to do something like that? Inserting that little blurb is just cruel. Turn to stone... Turn to stone... hmmm
Okay... so it sounds like there is some sorta confirmation on a proposed coaster - unless Swoosh is just pulling our legs here.

Steve

I take it you guys don't remember a couple of years ago when Medusa was added to GAdv, there were rampant rumors about SFStL getting one the following year. There were quite a few park employees (not me, I swear) that were spreading this "turn to stone" thing around to the GP. :)

Let me guess a medusa east clone?

I figured SF was done with the floorless design as they're fast running out of parks that can support such an investment,I guess I may be wrong there.

A Medusa clone would be nice for the park, and it won't really matter if its custom or not because a lot of non-enthusiasts probally won't know if its a clone. Even if people do find out it has an original design they wouldn't really care unless they are enthusiasts. I don't really care either if it's a clone just as long as it is a good coaster with speed, plenty of elements, and some airtime(hopefully it isn't Shockwave from SFGA).
