Six Flags St. Louis-anything?

I was in the park Sunday, and I would have to say that things were looking really good. It had been a few weeks since I had been there, but I was very impressed. Everything was very clean and looked to be well kept. I guess they spent the off time during the week sprucing things up. If only they could do that every night....sigh......

Anywho, speaking of things going on in the park. Although this is not ride news, Fright Fest is on the way! I think this year is going to be very good too. Decorating has already begun in some areas of the park. Back scenes there are some cool suprises too, but you will have to come visit to find out......

Mr. Freeze Op 2005

The reason BTR is always crowded is because the attendants are so dang slow at loading the trains. They almost always stack trains and that in turn makes long lines. It's not because there are more people, just slower loaders.

Coaster Matt I hope that the "surprises" are good enough that they can muster a crowd during this year's Fright Fest. Last time I was down there I heard several people in the park talking about how Fright Fest wasn't worth coming to and that they were thinking about going across state to Halloweekends. I think another problem that SFStL runs into this time of year is that Haunted Attractions area that they advertise heavily on Z107.7 You know the place that has Tombstone and Silo X.

Not related to a new ride, but I've never noticed before that there's a stray police car that looks like it came from Batman's line near the River King Mine Ride. Has that always been there? It was very random.

You know, I dont get why everyone thinks Batman ops are so slow, everytime I have been up there they are getting trains out the way they are supposed to. You have to realize trains have to stack for a second because the train has to clear the running track and reach the ready brakes otherwise it would creat a lift stop. They have very reliable ops up there.

As far as the police car goes at Mine Train, that was there all season and I never really knew why. It is gone now because I guess they will decorate it and use it for fright fest.

Stacking for a second is one thing, stacking for several minutes is another thing.

The police car is used for the Terror Train during Fright Fest.

I'd have to agree with Boz. The ops on BTR have been fine this year, and I have seen a couple lift stops because the train before didn't fully finish the circuit. It has even happened to me on opening day.

I have the same as Swoosh this season, terrible stacking.

Personally, I'm more peeved when only one side of Freeze is being used than if I wait five extra minutes for Batman. I only visit SFSTl 2-3 times a year, and I've always encountered the 45 minute wait for Freeze on an empty day. When both sides are being used, it's a whole different story.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

They normally run one train just in the morning, but later on they open up the other side.

Stacking has been poor when I was there, lines when I have been there have been huge, and trains are constantly stacking. It seems like a simple coaster to load and unload, they've been running the thing for years.

Oh, and Mr. Freeze when running both lanes is great, usually no more then a 15 minute wait. But 1 lane, it sucks, which is why I go ride it late in the day, it tends to have both trains running by then.

Six Flags STL is terrible with stacking. The ops are lazy and it takes them a long time, not necissarily on Batman, but on Freeze, ohhh man..

I remember the year before Batman opened I saw a movie showing it off about how it would be, I was blown away, and the park was smashed the year Batman opened, but it seems to be that the park is dropping in attendence because of no new ride, we need something new there badly! *** Edited 9/19/2004 4:47:39 AM UTC by Geewhzz***

Whenever I go to the park, I can't help but think that an Intamin Drop Tower would be a perfect addition.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

Bull, I've been saying that for years... A drop tower is as common as a log flume these days. Excalibur was an okay addition but if it were up to me I would of opted for a Tower.

...and a perfect locale would be where the old Barrel ride was.

Steve

I think they have evaluated what to do with the old Barrel site. I thought at one point though that there was talk of refurbishing the ride, which would be cool.

New coaster will come in 2006, hyper, big, and the station will be located just beyond the path tidal wave.

Also how many of you (Employees) will be paint balling in the grave yard on Nov. 6th. Dont worrie if you dont have a gun or the money for balls. Dave is provideing the balls and is talkign with Fearless fighters about renting equipment at cost or around cost.

Boss - Is that 2006 or 2005?? Just want to double-check...

Steve

$5 to rent a gun....

Hopefully by all of the employees paintballing in the junkyard you might find some clues to what is coming in 2005.

Are new coaster parts usually stored in the junkyard?

Sharpton for President
It depends on where the new coaster will be placed. Usually parts are put in the employee parking lot and occassionally (especially in the off season) they use the parking lot right next to HH.
