As for anything currently happening the answer is no, any construction would probably have to wait until after Fright Fest. Both the Haunted Hayride and the Terror Train use the land where this rumored coaster would be and both are going to be a part of Fright Fest.
You are probably right too about waiting until after Fright Fest, but who knows. Batwing Fan made a really good point that the fencing may just be for employee and guest safty. I know that many of the Six Flags parks increased ride perimeter security this past year, due to a few unfortunate events at the beginning if the season. I think all of this speculation is going to give me a heart attack! It would be nice, if they were getting a new ride, to get the public excited about it. Start putting up signs during Fright Fest and have one of those naming contests over the winter. The more anticipation that they build, the better.

Get a grip dude. You, and the vast majority of the peeps on this site do NOT have a clue as to what the park SHOULD look like, or what good attendance is. Your not old enough(according to your profile) I dont want a flame war, and don't mean to down you personally. As an employee of Six Flags and a park patron since 1974(came to St. Louis on vacation, have pics to prove it! ;) ) I can tell you that the parks looks have declined greatly in the last 10 years and needs LOTS of TLC. I can also tell you that there were many improvements over last winter, but many more are needed. Screamin Eagle is abismal looks wise, regardless of how it is running. Please paint the old girl and replace her lights. In its glory days a night ride on Eagle was as coveted as a night ride on Beast or Legend. Flying through the woods with the lights chasing you with an early summer fog was incredible.
As far as attendance is concerned, Swoosh is right. Although the park seemed busy, attendance was only average or worse for the last 5 years, and horrible for the hay day of the park. In its hay day mid week the parking lot would be three quarters full and weekends would be packed. Now three quarters full on weekend( without concerts) and less than half, closer to one third mid weeks. Unfortunately this was before you were born, and long before Premier bought the chain and it was almost a given something new was coming every other year, if not every year.
Six Flags St.Louis is still one of the cleaner, nicer parks in the chain, but is a long way from the way it used to be. Attendance is a long way from where it used to be. That is the point Swoosh and I was trying to make.
So everybody take a deep breath, check your facts, and patiently wait for, as Playa said, the announcement of F:TR! ;)

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.
I can't speak for others, but you missed MY point.
My point was I was happy about the fixing of the 2 in my opinion very good woodies, but was, and still am dissapointed in the lack of visual improvements. A first impression can NEVER be had again. A lot of people will have a bad impression of a park if the first thing they see is a very bad looking wooden coaster, even though it rides very well, and buildings with peeling paint and missing boards. They may have a great time that day, but the thing that will keep popping into their head, by human nature, is how bad the park looked. Same thing if they had a bad experience with an employee, that is what they will remember.

+Danny, that was uncalled for. I'm not sure why you thought you needed to post what you did, but that is your perogative. Just be careful, people might start to think you're a troll if you keep posting like that.
I think CO hit the nail on the head about the new ride.
+Danny, we're cool again.

But to give you a rough Idea how how much they own. Go from the orignal image posted above and from the west go east all the way over till you see the ball feild (owned by the park) in the link below All the land around that feild and in between is owned by the park except for that strip with those homes.
So out side of buyign out those houses the park wont get to much bigger.
ANd since we have a nifty little satilite image, lets play a game. Who can find the two rides and name them that are in the grave yard now and in 2002. These two rides came to the park but where NEVER installed.
+Danny
The two rides up there are some type of an inverted swinging ship and I think a Vekoma Air Jumper (Time Warp). The freefall ride from Six Flags Astroworld is still somewhere at the park.
And the first generation free fall is laying in a nice pile below the containors in grave yard #1. Its jsut to the west of the current picture. Those are the only rides that resided in the grave yard since 2000.
