It will be called Insanity and placed in a new section of the park called "Wiggles World".Gee, those 5 year olds are going to pissed when they see a new coaster in Wiggles World they aren't tall enough to ride.
Hence why they are calling Insanity. ;)
But, last year, I attended a roller coaster design lecture by Larry Chickola. I hadn't thought twice about this, but this topic brought it to mind. He presented a "problem" that he was working on. He showed us a 2-D animated design of a human body riding a "free-flipping" coaster. He talked about damping the flipping to prevent a rider from being upsidedown at a certain point, etc.
While he also said, "Six Flags is under new management who want to focus more on the family, so go ride El Toro-- and enjoy it." I just thought that was interesting to note.
also wiggles world will be replacing loney tunes seaport , there is no way they are sticking another coaster over there.
Great adventure will not be getting a coaster anytime soon.
From what shapiro said we should be getting some classic flats for either 07 or 08

His only posts are in 2 threads, where he's only talked about this topic. He's made it clear he's already not welcome at another message board, so considering he registered here only for the purpose of revealing this "news," I get the feeling he's not going to last that long. Trolls and spammers tend to be flash in the pan type things anyway...

For all the attention Makel has recieved on his opinions I would hate to suggest he's not welcome to present his theories for entertainment purposes alone. Personally I welcome new therories, crazy as they maybe and the disagreements they may generate. If it just eneded up being the same group with predictable responses each week I wonder how dynamic the conversations would be?
So Makel, please continue to present your ideas. Still, you need to know when to let it go. What I've learned is you need to allow the many that disagree with you, to disagree. You're not going to change anyone's opinion here. We're all enthusiasts who know more then most on these topics. *** Edited 9/21/2006 12:01:08 AM UTC by rc-madness***

You don't see it, do you? The problem isn't that he is offering his opinions or new ideas. The problem is that he is stating it as FACT with no evidence to back up his assertion. There's just a little bit of difference between fact and opinion.
On top of that there exists an air of 'holier than thou' attitude from him because he claims to know this is going to happen while we don't. He could be right for all I know, but if he is, then he is certainly violating somebody's trust in him with this information. That's not something to be proud of IMO.
If he was merely offering his opinion or idea makel would have said something more on the lines of, "I think SFGAdv should add one of those Intamin ball coasters with a more elaborate layout for their next coaster." If he had only offered his opinion we wouldn't even be discussing this.

1. I didn't say he wasn't welcome. My point was that he's registered here for the sole purpose (at this point) of presenting his "news" and then crying foul when nobody believes him. This is his only source of attention so he's not going to be interested real discussion in other threads. I'm not saying that's *exactly* what's going to happen here, but that's usually the way it goes. I'll be fine with it if he proves me wrong.
2. Like I mentioned before, and the distinguished poster before me did, he isn't presenting "ideas" or "theories." He wasn't saying "Guys, I get the feeling SFGAdv is getting a ball coaster in 2008" or "I have a source that says such and such." He's saying what he has are facts, with nothing to substantiate them, which is fine, but then he claims something is wrong with the people who don't believe him. I agree that it's somewhat amusing but do we need the whole board filled with that sort of thing?
In journalism there's something called "The Front Page Rule." When you have a scoop like this, the idea is that you have to be so completely sure in your source that you'd be willing to publish your news right on the front page of the newspaper, for all to see. If you're not that completely confident, you shouldn't be publishing what you have. I get the feeling Makel would say he'd be willing, but then again his job as a journalist wouldn't be riding on it, either.
Besides, it doesn't matter how factual someone thinks their information is. As soon folks say they think he's wrong, I think people looking at the discussion figure out his is an opinion. Whether it's a good opinion or a bad one; I don't need to get into that.
Or maybe I'm totally off base and it's jglonek that's setting the standards for the boggispere journalism with comments like:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Considering how 'accurate' Makel is I'd be surprised if he can hit the toilet when going to the bathroom.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Bravo jglonek, now we can rest easy with you at the helm of journalistic integrity for C-Buzz discussions. *** Edited 9/21/2006 4:12:27 PM UTC by rc-madness***
I'll say it again, though. It's apperantly not his "opinion" that SFGAdv is getting such and such coaster, he's presenting this to us as tried and true fact. I'm not sure what you're missing here. *** Edited 9/21/2006 11:27:39 PM UTC by matt.***
