Six Flags New Stuff

The Dark Knight coaster at SFGAm is supposed to go between the lift hill of Superman and Theatre Royale.

^Not just the queue theming, but the theming that will be involved while riding them.

I certainly hope so! It's just that it's Six Flags -- and I know new management promises "theme" and all these changes, but I can't help but to think of a Wild-Mouse version of Space Mountain sans the artificial outer-space lights. :)

Sure, the descriptions of The Dark Knight Coaster sound promising...but how far can one really go with theming when it comes to a bunch of enclosed pre-designed mouse rides? ;)

^Hey, Shapiro can only hope for any success relation to the Space Mountain coasters. :)

It'll be a cold day in hell when a Six Flags enclosed coaster can be mentioned in the same breath as Space Mountain. Not that I'm suggesting Six Flags shouldn't try, as I'd love to see some smaller coasters with theming that goes beyond some plywood cutouts in the queue lines.

Ever been to Kennywood?

Exterminator is one of the best indoor coasters around. Hopefully Six Flags will look to that gem for inspiration.

So SFKK isn't getting ANYTHING? I thought Shapiro liked our park...... Please, at least some type of flat!

I was hoping SFKK would get something as well, although not because it had to do with Shapiro liking the park. It's been 2 years since Top Eliminator Dragsters was closed down and the area blocked off. The pathway back to Twisted Twins really needs to be reopened for better park flow, and I figured this would be the year they got around to it.

Is it for sure they done with announcements, though? I mean, supposedly there's an eighth coaster yet to be revealed. Of course that could be an error on the part of the news source. But also, only two kiddie areas were announced other than the seven coasters, that seems a little odd........I'd hope there are some more non-coaster additions as well

And that's what I was hoping SFKK would add - either a flat or two or a kiddie/family area. Save the coaster for a year or two later, we need new flats and/or family rides after losing Quake, Chaos, Great Race, Thriller Bees, ect. *** Edited 9/27/2007 10:28:30 PM UTC by MrPKI***

Yes,they're done with the announcements & done with me as a paying customer for I won't be returning in october or next year for that matter.Five years<half a decade> with no new attractions to show for it is too darn much for me to tolerate any longer.SFI has deliberately run the park into the ground & I simply won't be giving them my hard earned money for a season pass after this.

As far as I'm concerned they can sell the land, bulldoze the park & put up new housing subdivisions on the land because I don't care anymore & will be spending my time, and money at KD instead...even if I only get to visit the park once a season.

Yes! Does that mean we'll stop hearing from you?

So...how soon after the season starts will we get our first SFA trip report from him? lol

^ It's not nitpicking! You're just correcting me. I obviously did not do a proper add up of the money spent on those coasters...but yes, that's the point I was trying to get across. They're spending less on coasters now.

The mice coasters have a lesser capacity. I've heard realisticly 400 people per hour. If that's the case, Superman Ultimate Flight is supposedly getting 1500, but that's probably a little high. It might be getting 1200. The mice coaster are more expensive in capacity terms to the Superman Ultimate Flight coaster.

Tatsu costs 21 million because of the terrain they had to deal with. Superman was only 15 million. So, two of those mice = one Superman. I think Superman is the better deal than 2 mice.

^Maybe in an enthusiast's mindset. I think the new mice coasters themed to the Dark Knight will be a hit.

We shall see.

They took the Batman's away. They aren't on the pages anymore. (sixflags.com) The only place they mention these rides is under the season pass. They even took away the news for each of the parks (SFGAdv, SFNE, SFGAm). Oops..
No way in hell the Superman rides get 1500 RPH. All the times I've ridden those things, it seems to be about 1000 RPH at the most, maybe a little less. As for the Mack mice, how many people can Hershey's handle? They keep the cars moving through the station so the line never slows down.

Georgia's Vu is leaving; Thomas Town is taking it's place. Great America's Vu is rumored to be going away as is SFMM's. Shapiro has a hard-on about removing rides with excessive downtime and/or are a drain on the maintenance budget. Flashback, Psyclone, Chiller, the Vu's...those are but the tip of the iceberg.

Sorry Moosh, I'm not a prude in anyway, but wasn't that a little over the top? Well, at least you're implying that he doesn't suffer from erectile dysfunction, so no Viagra/Levitra ads in the parks...for now.

I'm sorry to say that I back him up 100%. If you have an automobile that becomes a constant pain in the butt and you're always pouring money into it, do you keep it going? After a while it becomes a huge drain on your budget, when that money could be put into something that is reliable.

Take for example the Chaos and Rotoshake at SFA. These were constant nightmares. The Chaos always got stuck, and the Rotoshake either wouldn't work, or would get stuck as well. At some point you have to cut your losses.

What I don't support, however, is the mass removal of rides without something to go in its place. If the Tilt-a-Whirl was outdated and parts hard to come by, buy a new one. There are plenty of attractions that could've replaced the imposter Enterprise (I realize this was done under the old management), Rotoshake and Chaos that would be reliable, or at least more reliable.

Not a big fan of Cedar Fair and their "Geauga Lake Effort", eh? ;)

^Well, in all seriousness when I started the "Two more out the door at GL thread," I never expected it to be "We're closing the whole damn place down, except for the waterpark." Needless to say that my jaw dropped when I logged on the 21st.

I bought the "We're returning the park back to be more like its original days" line as much as everyone else did.

*sighs* and yet again reminds BatwingFan that two attractions were added in 2005. Bahama Blast and Tornado. What you really mean is two new attractions that you, selfishly, want to ride. I wonder if the SF ads an unannounced attraction to HH, if you will be back next season?

A day at the park is what you make it!

Anybody know why the dark knight ride was pulled from all three parks websites?

I was a tad surprised to see the "vandalized train platform" description. Didn't they "de-vandalize" Batman: The Ride because it wasn't "family friendly"? Now they're putting in new vandalized rides?

Well...Look at Rockin' Roller Coaster, that is supposed to be in a "vandalized" alley and it is still quite family friendly. After all, it is Disney. I mean even Tower of Terror is family friendly.

Wait, so is having that h-o supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? I'm confused.
