SFStL-abandoned section of Park or Halloween suff

Ill bet thats not for our park. I thought that was for that huge park down in Mississippi.

I never said that my signature had anything to do with a coaster. I mentioned something would be coming back to life in 2003...think about it ;)

Does it even have to do with SFSTL?

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with any park or attraction, but definitely something in the industry in general ;)

I went to Park this past Sunday and saw absoluting nothing in regards to anything new. Kinda a bummer... On a lighter note however, The Boss was running outta control! I am always amazed at the pure power of this coaster.

Steve

I remember someone saying that if theres gonna be something new in the grave yard #1 in 03 then a good sign will be if the haunted hay ride makes a return this fright fest. Well indeed it has, well in another form. But anyways this means the park is gonna use grave yard #1, which means of course that there not gonna be doing any survaying or anythign else for that matter over there . So if you dont see a new coaster dont say I didnt tell you so.

Heres the link.

They could do the surveying - a couple of survey markers wouldn't disrupt the hayride... they just couldn't start construction there.

Ummm....Valleyfair is getting a very small coaster that outside of the electrical workings, can be erected in a very short period of time. But they have already surveyed and done samples.

Wouldn't a hyper or similar need more planning, excavating, and construction time than an Impulse??? Oh yeah, it only took 8 months to build Mamba from start to finish. (early August to early April ) and the only major excavation was the que and lift hill.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

I didn't say they were getting a coaster (well, this thread is so long - I might have said it before, but I don't feel like going back to look :)) All I said was they could already have the surveying done.

Do I think they're getting a coaster? Nope...

Sorry Kip099, I should have specified who that was to, it wasn't meant for you.

Not to be rude... but I don't think the Haunted Hayride would disrupt any plans to build a coaster. Probably not the best way to determine what SFStL will be getting for '03. We'll just keep hoping...

I'm visiting the park tomorrow. I will get the low down on what is going on.

Awesome Chris, I cant wait to find out! Please be a coaster, please be a coaster.....

Ok, according to my sources at the park, construction will not start until the final weekends of Frightfest. They have surveyed the area near the tidal wave, going out and along the back side of Hurricane Harbor. From the looks of it, dirt has been moved in that area as well. BUT...due to the financial issues with Six Flags at the moment, NO attractions have been finalized for ANY PARK.. let me say that again...NO attractions have been finalized for ANY PARK. SF is in the process of making some major management and personnel changes all over and until they get their finances in order, cap-ex will be in limbo. He said its very possible rides and general managers could be moved around.

On a side note, both STL woodies are riding absolutely HORRIBLE. Dry rusty rails and of course the G trains are to blame. I asked my friend why the rails weren't being oiled and he said "man, we have a hard time keeping the rides we have open much less running great!"

Also, Scooby is having some issues with the boats in the channel near the unload/load area. The ride ops are literally pulling and pushing the boats down the channel!

When you say surveyed, do you mean that there are the little sticks with red tape? Because 1) I think there have always been survey markers buy Tidal Wave, I always thougth they were there for fright fest or something but mabey I'm wrong. 2) I wonder which pile of dirt your talking about because whenever I ride Screamin Eagle and look out east in the field, there is always this huge pile of what loooks to be dirt but mixed in with like tree limbs.

You porbly know more than me but that was just my 2 cents.

Chris... amen about the woodies running like crap. I don't know if I'd blame the trains - I'd say purely lack of maintenance... The rails on Boss are so rusted, it looks to be SBNO... I guess if you want good wood, drive the extra 3 hours to Holiday World.
