Steve -
I agree with you about the skyline. I can still remember my first time coming around the bend and there it was.
As far as something new, they need it. Being my home park, a hyper would be a great addition.
I don't think anything could take away from SE or The Boss.

Replacing the Ninja with Shockwave would be very welcomed (IMO)
I will take that trade. You get Shockwave down at SFStl and we get Ninja up here at SFGAm. I actually liked Ninja. It was way less painful than Shockwave.
I for one hope they get a hyper though. After visiting the park for the first time this year I have decided that it is an every year visit for me now. While the park has some outstanding coasters, a hyper would be icing on the cake.

Chris,
What's your prediction for St Louis next year? I know you have been confident on a Hyper coming. Now with Intamin being somewhat confirmed, what do you think?

Be prepared.. either a gyro drop or hyper should grace SFSTL unless corporate changes its mind. The contracts were signed in late 2001 and I expect to see either or both added in the next year or two. If they build that hyper that I saw last Sept, all I can say is.. LOOK OUT S:ROS, you are about to be overtaken!!!! It was 255 foot tall with a 247 foot drop complete overbanks, camelbacks, dives, and helixes. The colors were Green track with Red supports.... definitely fits the Goliath scheme....

Chris Godsey: That hyper sounds beyond awesome to me! I'll take one in my backyard thank you! :) (just not the bill for it!)
Anyhow, on the subject of the skyline, wouldn't it be a good idea perhaps, if a new coaster did in fact come, that the supports for it be a darker green color and the track a bright color. (as opposed to the proposed "Goliath" coaster on the board). This way, the supports blend in with the trees on the hillside and then you don't really take away from SE or The Boss or really any other coaster for that matter. Heck, you can hardly see namtaB since it's black. Just a thought.

If you put a Hyper behind Hurricane Harbor along the east side of the park, it will not obstruct any view of the Eagle or The Boss. In fact it would only enhance the Skyline in a spot which is now an empty field.
Give Us The Hyper!!!!!
An easy way to see if a hyper is coming in 2003 is to see if there is a haunted hayride this year for Fright Fest. The haunted hayride uses the land where the hyper would go and construction would have to start before the season ends.

Any other Year (well at least the last three) this would have been a good sign to tell wheather or not the park is gettign a new ride. But this year the park is doing FF in house which means they fired JPM (the company that orginized and put on the FF event the past three yrs.) and are doign it themselves. So the park may or may not open the Huanted hay ride. In other words if they sont open it, theres still a 50/50 chance for a ride too go there.

Thursday afternoon we went for about an hour and to answer the questions from MrFreeze979 the storage containers next to Joker are for the fireworks. The large items that were plastic wrapped appear to be 2 large tubes, they are hollow and appear to be about 6 to 8 feet in diamater. Nothing to do with a coasterr as far as we could tell.
Thanks for the info on those containers but the ones I saw that interested me were maersk containers in the boneyard. There were 6 to 8 of them lined up.
Well those in boneyard could be housing the rest of Skyscreamer from SFAW. I'm still surprised that the ride has not shown up at one of the smaller parks yet.
