I wouldn't anticipate hour waits during frightfest, especially on Sundays. I have found September to be a great month to visit the Park. The weather is cool, but not too cool, and the crowds are really thin. Sept is the best month to go IMO
Steve
Agreed, September is the best time to go. Its not too hot and the lines are somewhat lower. But, I think Scooby might change that. Scooby is extremely popular with families and if you stay clear of it for the most part, you should be ok.
Like bossstl said, construction wont start until September/October. But by then, we should get an idea of what, if anything the park is getting. The boss was leaked out to the public around that time in 1999 and usually most employees hear things by then.

That is the layout I saw last September during a meeting at the park. Looks pretty cool huh???? :)
The strange thing is, Goliath at SFH turned out to be pretty similar in alot of ways to that layout. It makes sense cause Stengel did both of them.

That is a great coaster that needs to be built here!!!
I assume that the station for the ride would be near Batman and Hurricane Harbor, with the lift heading towards the back of the park. Most of the ride would take place behind the Screamin' Eagle.
Does the coaster have a cable lift like most new Intamin's?
If that design is genuine, it will be the First coaster built at St. Louis without a 180 degree turn before the First Drop! (Did you all ever notice that about SFStL's coasters - full circuit that is)
That design would work great on the east side of the park. I just hope that if it is installed, it doesn't have horrible capacity(although it shouldn't)
BTW, would the Acme Gravity-Powered Roller Ride's layout count towards the "StL 180 Syndrome"? lol

Well, the 180 turn would still be there, just out of the station instead of the top of the lift hill. It is weird that most of their coasters do have that feature.. I dont think it was on purpose though :)
Yes, the lift was the elvator style cable lift. The colors were Goliath green and red. At the time, the location was not on that side of the park, but it seems logical now. The height was 255 feet with a 247 foot first drop. The total length was around 4,800ft I think.

Yeah, it does seem rather short... But I remember seeing the number 4,800 on the plans somewhere.. The height numbers were in meters though.. Dang Swiss :P but, I doubt the ride would be 4,800 meters though..hehehe When I did it in NL, it was around 5,600 feet I think.

Hey chris are there more initials than TR, as in S:TR?
The only thing I could come up with those exact initials would be The Riddler, which to me makes sense for the Gotham area.

If there were to be an installation of a hyper coaster this off-season, wouldn't there already have to be something on site? It seems as though we would have to see at least a minor detail by now.
Just curious, does anyone know what we would start seeing if we were getting a drop tower next year?
My guess is that whatever SFStl was supposed to get this year has been pretty much cancelled indefinately due to the parent company's financial woes. They stated in their press release the parks that would be getting major additions for 2003 and SFStl was unfortunately not on that list. I would love to see them get that hyper myself but I am starting to doubt seriously that it will happen and that is a shame.
I loved SFStl when I visited it this year for the first time and regardless if they get the hyper or not I am commited to visiting the park once a year now as it has left that much of a positive impression on me. I think that the level of customer service, cleanliness, and some damn fine coasters make it well worth the seven hour drive to get there.
