SFGAM 6/23..never again. NEVER!

Associated parks:
None

Yeah... and also many lawyers and political types also drive big expensive cars. Who would want to hang out with those types of people?

Which celebrities have you heard relate tales of dressing down to visit a park? Just curious.

I went the same day as MPG did, and arrived at around 2:30. I'll honestly say that the lines were small, Deja Vu featured a 35 minute wait. Not too shabby... I had a fun day, one of the better trips to the park this year. I noticed "hoochies" and "gangbangers" as well, but I've noticed them at *every* other park I've been too. This does include small, non-corporate parks too. Hell, CP recently had that fiasco with a crossdresser. You can't stop people from wearing what they want. I'll admit the bikini tops roam free in the park, but that's about it. If there's an offensive shirt if someone cusses, and an employee is there to see it/hear it, it WILL be dealt with. As for the feces, I'll guarantee that they employee walking past it as you later claimed didn't see it. There's no way somthing like that would be left to sit in the sun with people around it. Ever think it could've been somthing that fell from a diaper? I can't see someone grab their own turd and just leave it in front of the bathroom. In all seriousness, maybe the person was mentally challenged... I'm sure as soon as an employee was notified, it was taken care of. *GASP* Even SF employees have standards too. SFGAm is most definately one of the best, if not the best SF park. Their employees are always courteous, capacity is great (especially this year) etc. Don't let the clientele bring your visit down, because if you expect this is the worst, you're in for a major bummer when you encounter the same at a park where you would not expect this to be. Tell me, What is stopping these people from going to CP or IB? You can't run from pricks, they're everywhere, and they enjoy being a thorn in societies side, but their homepark is not just SFGAm.

Time to check in at home. Now comes the "NEVER AGAIN" part...go to phone by bathrooms next to Funnel Cake Foundry. Look on ground. Pile of HUMAN EXCREMENT on ground in middle of path to bathrooms!! EWWWWW does not even BEGIN to describe it. Find other phones and make call. Will report this to park later.

You later said

The excrement had actually been STEPPED IN, so it obviously was there for a while, not brand new. The person I was with saw an employee walk past it at LEAST three times without cleaning it up. So tell me how much SFGAm cares about health hazards again.

So what was stopping your partner from reporting it? I'm sure if you had the decency to report it, since you're so much better than the rest of the clientele who *didn't* report it, it would have been taken care of.

I'm not flaming you, but why complain about other people ruining your day, if you're not going out of your way to make the day more enjoyable for others. I'm sure other people would be spared the sight of human feces, and thus their day would improve, if you went up and politley informed the employee. Please don't take it personally but I think you're way too critical of this park. :) (smiley face to lighten the mood)

The most recent "big" stars being Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Then you have Jani Lane of Warrent (she's my Cherry Pie) (if you'd afford him celeb status:)). Little Bow Wow. Many politicians throughout the years including President JFK (before he was president, but while still a public official). Moreover, many "millionaries" are people that you'd never recognize anyway.

On to Splashwater Falls as it is right there and we are dry by now. Hardly get wet at all, even on bridge. People are walking up the exit ramp to stand on bridge. NO EMPLOYEE stationed there to stop them. Some people have been there the whole time we were in line!! I guess that sign about being on bridge for ONE SPLASH only really does the job. Another one in the "never again" column. If you want to get wet, wait in line!!!

There is absolutly nothing wrong with this, why complain about that???? If People wish to stand on the bridge to a ride to get wet, then whats wrong with that, Its quite obvious people wanted to stand on the bridge and get wet because it was a hot day, I would have done the same thing if I was there, I mean why queue up a long time when you can simply stand on the bridge and get wet in seconds.

Because it is not right to do so!! Plain and simple. Why should others have to wait in line to get wet and some just do their own thing?? Not right. And people who have the attitude of "entitlement" to do so are wrong too.

No one is "entitled" to anything...you have to EARN it!!

I would like to point out that for a time (mid to late 80s methinks) standing on the bridge was actually encouraged. I very much recall a sign with to messages, one pointing to the entrance to the ride, one pointing to where you could access the bridge. I stood on that bridge many a time (it was so great to be young and insane...)

Yes, there WAS a time when you could do that, and were encouraged to. But those times are gone now. Maybe I'm just too much of a stickler for respecting others and following the rules.

I'm one for kinda sticking to the rules too, but c'mon, it has been soo damn hot. I stood in that line for an hour. They had a 2 boat operation going, with one of the boats that noone could get into one of the rows because the lap bar would not come down. We had my fiance's little nine year old daughter who when she 1st saw the bridge was jumping up and down happy as heck and wanting very badly to go on that bridge and get wet. We rode the stupid ride and got soaked to our liking and we stood on the bridge for maybe 15 minutes. Woooo we broke the rules of standing on the bridge for more than one splash. Am I going to let my fiance's little one go up the exit and get wet? Why of course I did. Why? Because I wanted to make her happy. She could not get on most of the coasters becuase she was scared of them. She was not having fun at all, but you should have seen her cute little face light up when I took her onto that bridge. It was worth more than all the money in the world to me to make her happy and to see her smile. I think you need to reevaluate your own life MagnificentPaganGoddess and stay out of other peoples bussiness. The rent-a-cops are there to do their jobs, geez get a life and let them do it. Some people just are not happy no matter what. Yes, I agree about the human waste being gross, if in deed it did happen .

2Hostyl: I guess the thing about SF and CF parks is that the appeal of the attractions does not discriminate until one hits a certain age. Therefore, the CEO of Quaker Oats (assuming he's 45 or under) who lives in Lake Forest and makes 1 million a year feels and enjoys the G-forces on V2 just like the guy working across the street at Burger King. So there is definitely a mix, but I think upper-class clientele tend to view any entertainment with mixed classes as somewhat "beneath them" because they are used to enjoying entertainment that discriminates against the less affluent, i.e. playing golf at expensive golf courses, viewing operas, etc. Also, even though more well-off adults might enjoy a spin on the Eagle, I do strongly believe that they are turned off by the mix of people. If the Great America admission price was raised by, say, 50 dollars, you might see more middle-upper class adults. But people like my folks don't want to hang out at a teenybopper place all day, even if they might enjoy some of the rides.

Funny... I try to avoid vast amounts of people most of the time, but tolerate it at parks. It's all I can do sometimes not to clothesline people walking 10 abreast in parks. It's not about class/race/money.. people like to stop walking right in front of me. But we deal with it cause we LOVE coasters/rides/parks. But I digress. I was thinking if we could move the coasters to a more isolated location... yeah.. anyone see Six Flags Antarctica?

-----------------
Sorrrrrrrry folks! Parks closed. The moose out front should have told you.

It did happen. I wish I had taken a picture of it to prove it to the park and to you folks.

And as far as money goes, I bring home about 12 grand a year. I guess that makes me "lower class" in terms of income but I have more class, dignity and decency than some of the dregs I saw at the park on Sunday.

Sorry if you folks don't agree with my opinion of this park.

Sorry if you don't agree with my feelings about following the rules. Deal with it.

And I DO have a life. Too bad I'm stuck with a crappy homepark that doesn't give a rat's azz about cleanliness, unruly behavior and general quality.

-----------------
Just call me MPG...

You don't have a crappy homepark. I think Six Flags Great America is awesome and very clean. About Splash Waterfalls, how could people be breaking rules when they can't even see the sign saying the rule? The sign was covered up by a bush, and you had to really look for it to see it. I went up on the bridge because I was hot, I did not think of myself as wrong for not waiting 2 hours to get cooled off.

You wouldnt happen to be the lady I saw wearing a CP shirt at the park, would you? Just curious.

""To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!, You got to beat the man""!!!

OK. If anyone who is "in the mix" with the SF CEO is reading this, please, do relay this... Your park isn't good! With 11 great coasters, friendly employees, and a nice atmosphere, how could you even consider going on. Your park is sub-par. Your friendly employees are unacceptable. Please, consider calling it quits and just get rid of Great America. You let people stand on the bridge over Splashwater Falls on a 100 degree day. How could you?! Don't you know that those guests appreciated it? How could you be so damn kind? I'll see your asses in court. ***END SARCASM***

Woa! Now wait a minute! They DO give a rat's butt about the park. SFGAm is my homepark too and it is run a heck of alot better than other Six Flags properties. Give Jim some credit! The park is a world class park as far as thrills go. Do you know how dang hard it is to keep a park this big clean and orderly? It takes an army! And as far as the co-called "gangbangers" go, who cares what someone looks like? It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round! My god. The park is run great from what I can see. I saw no crime, no violence, heard no foul language and I saw noone defacating anywhere. SFGAm WILL always be my home park, becuase it is a GREAT park! The atmosphere is fantastic, the music great and the shows, especially the Radioactive show, ( those people put on a fantastic show!). I for one love my home park very very much! Times change, get with the program. If you don't like the park then stay away from it. Maybe you would be more comfy in in a locked room? The security guys at SFGAm value your security more than you can imagine with metal detectors and cameras, plain clothes cops, ( yes I have seen them). There are times that things get alittle out of hand. Why I bet that right after you saw the waste pile, someone came by and cleaned it up. They have to call in a special park team to deal with that kind of mess. when we were there on the 19th and the 20th, I saw park paramedics all over the grounds walking around with a wheel chair in case someone needed one. I saw them about 16 times just on Thursday alone. Sure the park might have some flaws, but you have to take the good with the bad, when it happens. But let me thank you for not being any of the ride lines from now on. It puts everyone of us that love this park just that much closer to getting on the rides and cutting our wait time. I feel sorry for your kids if you have any because I bet their home is run like a boot camp.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The inappropriate personal flame season is now open. Thank you for your patience.

MPG...........If by your name you are proclaiming yourself as part of the Pagan religion, I must say that Paganism means being free-spirited and not judging others. It's a "live and let live" philosophy. That is part of the reason I started getting into Paganism myself. You are much too much judgemental and critical of others to truly be Pagan at heart.

In other words.......Lighten up and don't stress out about what other people do! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff!

Of course, the philosophy of not passing judgements on others doesn't apply to lallen and stoogemanmoe, only to MPG.
