SFGAM 2003 Construction Photo's

It would be nice if Power Dive was reinstaled over by Superman. I miss that ride so much! I know this is off the subject but I was thinking that it would have been cool if Deja vu had taken the spot of Power Dive and CCH and that stupid grill, that way it would have fit perfectly along with the New Orleans theming being a french word, and Sky Whirl would have stayed with us. Oh well just a thought.

I know this is off topic, but does any one know the status on East River Crawler? Since they have some land where ShockWave was maybe they could put it there?

It isnt going anywhere and it will be in the exact same place it was last season. If you dont believe me , no problem. Take it for what its worth.

good photos and all... but damn...shouldnt you get arrested or evicted or somthing now from the park? because some of those pics were taken in off limits areas? wouldnt a gate like this: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/gallery/Dec22/DSCF0004edited2 stop you? that area is blocked off for a reason... and you proved to the masses that you were in places where you shouldnt of been... by what you said and the pics you took... but whatever floats your boat... its yourself you are puttin at risk... jive

Well there are not any "no trespassing" signs and there were in fact some security guards that were there that didn't care if we took some pictures.

Looking at the west support and the superman Georgia pics. Notice that there is *no* support designed like that one at all in the georgia layout. I'm not referring to position, I'm referring to the actual design. its a main pole with 2 side poles coming off of it and thats not in georgias at all.
First off, I hope its not a clone but I'm guessing it is. What I am about to say may not be possible but do we know for sure the lone support is secured to the ground with a footer? I am sure it is but maybe they preassembled it and stood it straight up and secured it to the ground another way temporarily. Also we know for sure this ride will not be over 125 feet because they never requested a variance from the Gurnee village board. So if it isn't a clone don't expect a huge ride like Shockwave was because it isn't going to happen.

I think this ride will be a clone, but maybe, it will have something extra, like a helix or somethin.

Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you.

There are other supports in the pictures that are pre-assembled and laying on the ground in front of the station. I don't know why they would stand one up and just leave it there unless they had it attached to footers.

Wood Rules!

Maybe they changed the design of the supports to work better?

"These Hardy Boy's books aren't too bad either. This one's about smugglers! They're all about smugglers dad. No, not this one, The Smugglers of Pirate's Cove, it's about pirates" This summer - SFOG, SFGAM, BGW, Las Vegas, SFMM, and KBF!!!

Could this have anything to do with the rumored modified pretzel loop? I highly doubt it, of course.

It doesn't have anything to do with the pretzel loop. I have no clue what the support is for. Looking at S:UF's layout, every is to the right of the station. On SFGAm's version, the station is on the parking lot edge of the former Shock Wave site with the lift heading in towards the park. This 'mystery' support is out to the left from the ride's perspective.
I'm not sure either... ;) But I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything too grand.

try again ooh great one...this is the picture i posted earlier http://www.thrillnetwork.com/gallery/Dec22/DSCF0004edited2 those gates are at the very park property line... and if we just use the magic of internet searchability and pan off to the right a tad and zoom in we get walla: http://www.thrillnetwork.com/gallery/Dec22/DSCF0003?full=1 so try that statement of the no "no tresspassing" signs... see it there on the fence? so once you passed those big gates you were tresspassing... and ever if you are telling the truth about the security guards... i think those were just construction workers or somthing... cause what you did wasnt right... so now i dunno... but there may be people from the park reading this board... and now they see people that are tresspassing... and it may screw up posiable future events and whatnot... but whatever... if your boat is still floating i dunno how much longer it will be staying afloat... party on brothers...and sisters... if there are any

Funkytones,

While there is a sign saying no trespassing, I am giving Katana the "benefit of the doubt" that he could tell the difference between a construction worker and a uniformed security guard.

Trespass is defined as: "Entry to another's property without right or permission.

And that being the case, if a security guard allowed access past the gates then LEGALLY it is not trespassing as he would have been given de facto permission to be on the property.

Its almost most more progress than SFGADV.

Where have you been? I'd rather say the opposite!

SFGADV started construction a few weeks before SFGAm!!!

Hey Frank, can we see some pictures of SFGAdv then? I want some proof.

Who cares? It's not like the first one completed will be rideable right away. There's no claim to fame for being done first and it's just childish. Who really cares who's farther along? I know I certainly do not. So drop it. Also this is a sfgam construction thread not a sfgadv thread, I don't want to see it closed because some of you people don't have the common sense to leave that dumb issue alone.

'out the 100Base-T, through the router, down the OC3, over the leased line, off the bridge, past the firewall......nothin' but Net.

I don't care who finishes first, I just want to see proof instead of seeing someone starting a fight over something as stupid as which ride is going to be finished first.

Could it be a mirror reflection version?

no- the turn to the lift is to the right, just like SFoG's and SFGAdv's.

everything points to exact clone except that solo support....

i'm guessing they'll be similar with a few exceptions, kinda like Viper @ SFMM and Shockwave @ SFGAm

probably same elements, very similar length, height, speed, just a little different layout

The other thing that may be possible is where the ride is built in each park. Each location may require different supports to hold up the same elements of track. I know nothing about the Georgia location and whether it is flat like the parking lot location in Illinois but that could account for some of the difference. Can anyone give info to that possibility?
