yeah, I saw that pic. I was wondering if anyone was planning on going up like this coming week or something. I don't mean to sound pushy or anything, I was just wondering if anyone was planning on updating.

Does anyone know why they still have the one piece of track from SW sitting there???

Are you ready to fly in '03 SFGAm??? :)

There's probably no real reason. The whole coaster is on-site anyway, they just probably haven't bothered to move it yet.

but they will move the shockwave pieces by opening day
I hope

I hope they won't, actually. I'd like to see the "remains," if you will, once before the ride gets melted down.

Whoever said it was going to get "Drachen Fired"?

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

No one, I'll admit. But what other conclusion can be drawn from what we know? When SW was coming down, and when that press release was issued, the coaster was slated for SFAW. However, they begged and pleaded not to be saddled with this ride (yeah, think about that the next time you're about to complain that SF never gives your park anything, SFAW fans!), so it's currently homeless. No one on this site has been able to come up with a SF park that has both the room for this behemoth, and could use an Arrow mega-looper, so it'll probably stay homeless. With SF financial troubles, I doubt they'll want a potential cash source to just sit around, collecting rust. So, how can Shock Wave make them money, if they can't install it? Fire up the furnaces!

:( :(

Did you ever think they have a plan "B"?

If they arent going to install it in a Six Flags park, they could make the attempt to sell it.

With a few modifications and some money invested, another park chain might be interested.

As our webmaster would say, "stay tuned". :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

They may very well have a plan B, but two things would go against it, in my mind: One, the circumstances of its removal were somewhat sudden. Two, I can't think of another SF park where they could put it. (Also, a plan B suggests some sort of devotion to the ride: SF doesn't care, I would venture to say, whether the money SW makes them comes from tickets or scrap. And don't tell me it'll keep bringing in people for more than a season or two. It won't). Now, I admit that I could be totally wrong. But that's what it looks like to me.

As for selling it... Now, don't get me wrong: I loved Shock Wave. But who on earth would buy it? It's not a very good ride, by modern standards (aethestics aside). And as for modifications... okay, so just how much would buying and erecting this ride cost, now? Not to mention that nobody's talking to what's left of Arrow at the moment, and Morgan hasn't done anything in a while.

Again, I could be wrong. But I just can't personally see any other fate for the ride. However, I will certainly stay tuned, and celebrate if I am proven wrong.

So, since most of the snow is melted, how is station construction going?

"Hey, that looks like Princess Diana. Oh wait, it's just a pile of rags."

Hopefully they have made some progress the last few days since there has been no rain.
From what I saw today it looked like the frame for the station is beginning to take shape.
