SFGAM 2003 Construction Photo's

I dont think that there will be a new theamed area. I think that if anyhing there will just be some new flats added.

Hasn't Chitown said in a previous thread that ERC will be back?

I was thinking that a new themed area this year may be a bit much, but next year is a different story. I guess we will find out on the 4th.

Why does everyone think (hope) we're getting a new themed area? Think about it, people: Great America went 19 years on the original six, and the expansion was something that had been planned since before the park opened. There's two reasons right there why an expansion (at this time, at least) is extremely unlikely.

Next, take into acount that any small, modest themed area that could be built in a year with minimum fuss (like we're talking about) in that area would be a dead-end. That's not a good thing. Not at all. And if you're still talking about totally re-theming Orleans Place... All I have to say is: not that same year they get a B&M. Those things cost serious money.

Just face it: At most, you'll get a Metropolis as extensive as that area of Yankeee Harbour they used to try to pass off as "Gotham City." But, frankly, I doubt you'll get even that.

Has anyone seen the progress of this week yet? I'm assuming they have alot of the lift hill done.

Like I posted yesterday no updates since the weekend. I drove past the park today at noon. I believe the sub zero temperatures may be hindering the progress I mean hell it's -3 out right now. Throw in the wind chill and yikes!!

ERC will indeed be back.

Chill someone will probably have some pics this weekend. There is plenty of time for this coaster to be built, they dont have to rush. Its January, and they have untill May to finish. I think they will be done by then.

I went by SFGAm today not much has happend. Not much if any of the Lift hill is up. I didnt get any pics sorry.Not much has happend sience last weekend.Maybe they are working on other stuff now cause they still have alot of time till May.

ya and tomorrow theres supposed to be a high of i think 10 degrees so building might not progress for a while

Why would they move ERC over by S:UF? It fits perfectly in the New Orleans themed area. If they were ever to get a "metropolis" themed area, that ride would never go with the theme.

It looks like they added more track and lift track after the station and maybe the brake track.
