Yes thats true, but SFGAm had to first dismantle Shockwave in order to start construction on the new coaster.

i wouldnt say that Dejavu opened a lot later than all the other the ones
Yeah, i have some theories on that. No proof, but see if this looks reasonable: Okay, everyone but DRNK agrees that the problems on the GIBs were pretty much due to Vekoma. Therefore, I think it's reasonable to assume that actual Vekoma personel were on-site to get them all up and running. However, they only had enough people to get one done at a time. For obvious reasons, Six Flags sent them to their (more or less) flagship park first. For less obvious reasons, they then went to Georgia, and finally Illinois. Sound reasonable to anyone else? Anyone got information that proves/disproves this?

In addition to the fact that SFGAm had to dismantle Shockwave, they are constructing the coaster in a different manner than SFGadv. If you take a look at the const. pics you can see that GAm is working more on supports, then track; where as Gadv is doing both at the same time. IMHO GAm is not too far behind.

Is it May 3rd yet? SFGAm
*If* the Vekoma engineers were required to get the rides up and running, then it makes sense they were sent to SFMM and SFoG before SFGAm for more reasons than "flagship" status; SFoG's and SFMM's were finished first! Additionally, notice that all the parks that built a GIB built other major attractions that year (SFGAm built V2, SFoG built Acrophobia, and SFMM built X). It was important for SFMM to get Deja Vu open as soon as possible because X had not opened yet. SFGAm came after SFoG, probably because SFGAm had V2 running well and SFoG had not yet opened a coaster, and coasters usually have more drawing power than anything else.

True, but long before any of the coasters opened, the one at SFGAm was up to the standards of the other two.
This is going to sound very weird, and I'm not sure whose side I'm helping, but did SFGAm originally build their Deja Vu backwards? Don't laugh: I could be totally wrong on this, and would not mind if someone told me I'm flat out wrong. But, I remember going past Great America in march of 2001, and seeing Deja Vu in the opposite direction it is now (like they have it in the park map), with the cobra roll done, the loop half-way finished, and both towers well on there way. Am I the victim of an optical illusion, a really bad memory, or was there even more to this ride's construction than is generally known?

And no, SFGAm's ride was never built backwards. I'd blame a bad memory for that one. :-)
