SFGAdv Invitation Scan, DEFINITELY WORLD RECORD

So as a CP Fanboy are you expecting something like:

"It doesn't matter because TTD will always be better and all of you at SFGADv know it! You guys don't deserve anything, nada...... Stupid SFGAdv!!!!!"

;) But seriously I am a little mad and nothing will change that. I'm just not going to blame it on anyone, no one deserves the blame.

Don't Fight It, Ride It, RAGING BULL!!!!!!- Six Flags Great America

Mad about what? SFGAdv's new ride doesn't mean that TTD is no longer a good ride!
Well, think of Great Adventure building this ride in a good way. The next time Cedar Point builds a height breaking record coaster, its gonna be HUGE!!! Just think about having a Millineium Force 500 FEET TALL!!!!

beastly isnt it?? *** Edited 9/23/2004 9:17:19 PM UTC by SFSL_Guy07***

The number one reason you know you are an engineer: The world revolves around you because YOU chose the coordinate system.
OR maybe CP will stop going for the "highest" coasters in the world and will go for another kind of record?

Maybe they'll stop building record-breakers and get back to building rides that stand on their own because they are GREAT RIDES and not just the biggest, fastest or tallest?

Has any coaster at GAdv ever held a world-record? (jokes welcome)

are you saying MF isn't an awesome ride?
Kinda.

I'll admit that it's an awesome ride in some ways- height, first drop, speed... but I rode it and couldn't help but feel it had the potential to be so much more. Nitro and the Superman ROS coasters were all more satifying coaster experiences IMO.

SFGAdv has held "b.s." records before... tallest East Coast coaster, tallest twin-tracked launched coaster, only "heartline twist" coaster in North America, etc. :)

Don't forget about the Great American Scream Machine which held the record for world's tallest roller coaster for all of a week or so. :-) *** Edited 9/23/2004 9:30:20 PM UTC by coasterdevils30***
BUT it was the tallest LOOPING coaster for a year until SFMM's Viper debuted ;)

Yeah, they took that record from Shockwave by a whopping three feet. Maybe a sign of things to come? ;)

I'm looking forward to this coaster no matter how tall it is. From what I remember, every rocket coaster has opened to rave reviews. Why should this one be any different?

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

And Viper took the record with another three feet!
I am a Cedar point fanboy but will say this. Even if the new ride is 421 feet tall it will seem much bigger than TTD. WHY because the next tallest rollercoaster in the park is nitro 230 feet. No MF, Power tower ECT.

I have been to CP twice once in 01 and in 03 and MF looked taller in 01 than TTD looked in 03. Because MF was atleast 1/3 taller than any other ride in 01, while in 03 TTD was only a 1/4 taller than MF. They cancel out each other out.

This thing will look like a monster next to all those other small rides!

-Eric: Major Parks: SFNE(homepark), SFA,SFGADV,CP,BGE,BGA,Kennywood, and Sea World: Track record 65 different coasters ridden #1 is Millennium Force #2 is El Toro and than there are all the others

According to RCDB, SFMM does... check it out.

I always thought it was SFGAdv because people generally count the inversions on shuttles only once (like The Chiller) but then I remembered that SFMM has Deja Vu, which "evens" the number of shuttle inversions.

Sorry, I deleted my post minutes after posting it because I realized I forgot SFMM added Scream! last year. SFGAdv did hold that particular "record" for years, however (which was more of a "fun fact" than anything).

Then the solution is to get better ops, not to drop another $1M on a station.

So could we just say that this is a fight between the parks to see who has the biggest...er...phallic symbol?

^^Funniest post in this thread

LOL@ KTS. I guess Hershey and Knotts are feeling a little "small" now. But does it help that Great Adventure has two symbols. That has to count for something.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Yeah, but 'Tuan, only one of them actually works. Most parks would fix the problem at hand, not just replace it with one twice as big. ;)

For a ride like this, i.e. dragster, I've always thought the excitement/anticipation/fear one feels while queing and boarding would be very different and possibly a lot better if the que and boarding area were indoors, like a 'theme' park coaster.

They could do some kick ass interior theming to make the que all the more exciting, a la space mountain or RnR. Then once boarding, they would roll outdoors to the launch position, so there is at least some time to have clear view of the structure before launching.

There's probably no way that would happen but I think it would be extremely cool.

Knowing SFGA, the queues will be outdoor with no shade of any kind - Making for an enjoyable 10 hour wait in a line when it's 90 degrees out with the crew dispatching at their classic 3-7 minute interval.

^^ Jack's Coaster: I actually feel that I wouldn't have been as scared to go on Dragster my first time as I was had I been in an inside queue. Watching the ride is enough intimidation for most people to be practically shaking when they board the ride. Throw in a roll back or two and people are REALLY nervous. Much better to wait outside, IMHO.

Certain victory.
