SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Why wouldn't it? Just because SFoT's Mr. Freeze is having problems, doesn't mean our's is. It just wasn't open during ERT last week - so what, several rides were not open!

I just went today to apply for a job, (yay I am on a waiting list) but i didn't go into the park, saw the outside of the Boss and the Top Hat of Mr. Freeze, I asked the person at the human resources center wether or not MF would be open tommorow. She called up someone and said that it will be. Hopefully I will go tommorow, but prob not cause I haven't started to get benfits (free pass and tickets) but if anyone goes, I prob will most likely be wearing my Millenium Force T-Shirt.

What GP wears MF shirts?

Well, I'll probably be there on Saturday. I'm not so sure on how good of an idea it is to release your name when you work at a park. I know it's strictly forbidden when you work at WOF to post on boards. I thought it was with SFStL as well - might want to "edit" that out.

FYI there will be a openign of the new ride at 11:00 PM. And yes Mr. Freeze will probly open it was testing today. And BTW if you see someone (employee) in a dark blue or red uniform with a red name tag, stairing at you while you wait for the new ride to open its probly me.

Wow! I got to ride Xcalibur today, and it was awesome! And it didn't make me barf, which was wonderful! I even got to ride on the "Last ride of the first day"!!! It was cool! But that time it was making some scary noises, but oh well. :-) Just thought I'd say that!

Alright Aaron, I'll bite, what scary noises was it making? My wife and I were also on the last ride of the first day, as well as another ride about 4:30 friday afternoon and there was nothing different at 8:01 than there was at 4:30? Just curious. And BTW Bossstl were you the delenquents who held up the ride for close to 5 minutes so they could make that the last ride of the day? :)

lol...Well, the noises I kept hearing were just little clicking noises every once in a while when we were spinning. I think it was mainly just the car I was riding in. But it wasn't a big deal. :-)

Also I wonder what all of your guys opinion is,. hows the veiw that over looks the back are were those vendign carts are? And could someone please tell me why there was a satilite truck in the park on Friday. I mean seriously who are they going to broadcast the grande opening (which was delayed 45 mins. due to techinal difficulties).

I was there Friday and Saturday working and man that thing is neat to watch. It is so much bigger in person than it looks. From the looks of it you would never know it came from another park. Also that picture was in the Post Dispatch today (Saturday) in travel and liesure. They have a whole 2 pages dedicated to amusement park stuff. Including CP and Xcalibur. I was in the parking lot watching them take that picture on Wednesday. I know because it was cloudy that day and there was 2 guys and a camera on a cherry picker in the employee parking lot filming.

If practice makes perfect but noone is perfect, then why practice.

I finally rode Xcalibur on Saturday. It's a fun ride and all, but there are a lot better rides out there. I think the one thing that I do not like about the ride is how long they think they need to spin you before the boom starts turning. That can make you nauseated. The part at the top is really fun, and I wish you were up there longer. I just don't like the beginning and this is one ride that I can assume will be a "take it or leave it."

In other news Eagle was a whole lot smoother than last year. Boss was just as rough and IMHO one of the worst woodies out there. Ninja still is boring and B:TR crew proved just how long it takes to clean up puke on an inverted (yep around 45 minutes). Mr. Freeze was running great and of course Scooby was just as much fun as it always is. Te red targets are getting so much easier to hit with practice. :)

The satelite truck was probably Fox 2... That Tim Ezell guy was there to ride. They strapped him in and spun the wheel up, the boom moved maybe 10 feet, then a warning light went off and they stopped the ride...

I dont know a satlite truck is a little extreme for a local crew to use for a local shoot. Not to mention the thing showed up after the shoot and they already had a broad cast van on site. I am not sayign your wrong, jsut sayign the peices dont fit. Also Thanks for the warnign light thing, I was wandering why in durnign the 7:45 broadcast, it moved only partially up.

I cant say for certain, but there are 2 slightly different Xcaliber commercials in St. Louis and part of one had to be filmed on Friday evening because twice you can see my wifes' back in the commercial and that is when the cameras were there. Could have been uplinking to whoever does the commercials for Six Flags.

On saturday 5/10/03 a lady was almost struck by a rather large flying object that resembled a large Nut. The Nut was said to be slightly bigger then a fist and appeared to have flown off of the new ride at the park. I did not see this peice but moments after it took place I talked to the lady it almost hit and the employee who saw it happen. He was also the one who retreived the nut. The ride closed for about 15 mins, before reopening.

Xcalibur looks cool and you guys make it sound awesome. I can't wait until I can ride it. (That is if its operating and all nuts are tightened).

Well heres a small update. Durning the week two new construction veichles showed up, they look to be rented. Ones a standard Skidsteer (bob cat) and the other I am not sure of the name but its best discribed as a mini front in loader, with a scope about the size of a back hoes scope.
