SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Well yeah, but wasn't that already public knowledge?

-Dho

Well, on January 29th, I am going to be down at SFSTL all day from 9AM to 3PM doing a career shadow of the head mechanical engineer there. I will get to walk the tracks of the coasters, and ask tons of questions, and I will be sure to ask him something about expansion plans....

Thats cool. What school are you doing this through?

(sigh) Why do I have a feeling we wont see anything new for this park till 2006. Gosh this park only needs 5 things. A Hyper or giga coaster, a good B&M Floorless, A Wild Mouse, Tons of new flat rides, and a really good wood coaster! Not that the Boss is all bad! Infact I quite like it but it just needs PTC's. O Well such is life, and even so, I continue to get a season pass every year! (SIGH)

THE SCARIEST PART OF THE RIDE IS THE LIFT HILL!
Dude, you're kidding right? 5 things ... at $30 + $20 + $5 + $20 + $10 = $85 million?!? Listen, I'm sorry you're so deprived as to have a park that doesn't have everything and isn't *the* destination park, but get real! I've never been to this park, but I'm sure its a decent little place, if nothing else then for Freeze and Boss. We can't all have the best park as our homepark. If we did, someone's would still suck cause you need a worst and a middle to even know what the best is! Just be happy with what you got and dream within bounds. End of rant.

Will this isht ever die???

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Probably not ...
So how far has Magnum sunk this year?

LOL! Impulse-ive I guess you didn't catch my sarcasm and I guess this should be expected because it seems nobody ever gets it unless you say you are being sarcastic right after your comment. Anyway of the things I listed I only think one of them we are truly in need of and that is Flat Rides! The park seriously lacks in that department. I'm am extremely thankful for Excalibur so keep em coming. We have a great park! With a wonderful coaster line up. I'm not complaining mearly making fun so please forgive me.

O and BTW Magnum has sunk a total of 3.2 inches in 2003! LoL

/\ Just incase you don't know that was sarcasm

[sarcasm] Well you know the people on here don't always "get it" that's why you need to be blunt when you are being sarcastic [/sarcasm]

(insert rolling eyes here)

Wow wildfire, you are incredibly funny. I am here howling with laughter for fear of ****ting myself!

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Bossstl, I am doing it through Lafayette High School. I am also going to be doing an internship with PGAV this summer, for those of you who have no idea what PGAV is, they are the ones who theme most of the Busch Gardens parks, such as SeaWorld, BGT, BGW and they also did part of Port Adventura.

GO LANCERS! :)
LHS kicks butt.

the word on the "street" is that hurricane harbor's attraction throughput will be monitored closely this year to determine if waterpark expansion in '05 would be advantageous or not.

-later

i think sfsl will take this year to dump their capitol improvement funds into giving the park a much needed face lift but nothing major until '05.

At this point I would be jsut happy with some new paint, and maybe a new marketing dept.

Nothing big coming to SFSTL this year, they are taking out McDonalds (near the Ninja) and putting in a "themed burger-place" as one of the engineers called it. Also I noticed that they are reprofiling the second hill on Screamin Eagle (all the track stripped off), which could hint that SFSTL is slowly working on Screamin Eagle since they redid the drop last year....

Also some random reprofiles are being done on the Boss, one spot where it turns out of the double-drop and into the first turnaround. And a second one on the third turnaround before the run past the station. Other than that its the normal winter rehabilitaion of stripping down all the cars (they are almost done with the second Mr. Freeze train) and replacing parts. Also to note, a Premier rides representive came by the park today, just to check up on Mr. Freeze and clear up some orders for small parts on the Ninja trains. She also had said that Premier is working on creating a new bumper for the river rapids, so that it is a lot cheaper (since the current bumpers are manufactored in Europe).

The themed burer joint is a MooseBurger Lodge like the one in SF Great America.

You say Screamin Eagle and The Boss are getting reprofiles -- do you mean retracking? Or are they actually making the hills (supports) different?

There's a difference, and from how you explained Screamin Eagle, it sounded like it was a simple retracking (to smooth out rough sections of track).

So is it a reprofile or retracking? :) Thanks.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
Its a retracking, if you contact me on AIM, I can show you the hill where there is no track right now. All of it is gone from the top of the hill down to the bottom.
I was at the park today for about three hours. Had to move stuff around with a truck, so need less to say i got to see whats going on in the park. And I would like to say this: "There is nothing goign on". Well there are a few things like possums roaming and birds chripping but other then that there aint much going on.

Like Tyrant says they are retrackign the second hill on eagle. As of today there was no track on that hill. Also looks like they had finished the extra bracing on the double down on boss.

Another thing to note, SFSTL doesnt snow plow the park in the winter very well, so it makes drivign kind a hazerd. Also the "new" resturant, has a long way to go it looks so far as if all they have done is gutted it and done some welding.

P.S. You wouldn't think it would be very hard to find a make shift slede in the grave yard would ya?
