SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Don't count on it.

Maybe if AB took over, they would probably fix the fountain in the Batman queue... The "nice" part of Gotham looks almost as bad as the "bad" part... However, I wouldn't hold my breath.

As far as the park being down in attendance, that is probably correct. The weather early in the year was terrible, which kept people away. Also, Labor Day Monday (the last "big" day of summer) was rained out - the park closed at 3:00 when it was supposed to be open until 8:00.

I just want to say now that most things i hear bosstl say are completly and wrong and are his own speculation. From what he has said about his affiliation with the park he has no access at all to any real information ESPECIALLY ones that deal with rides. Information like that is only kept for those that need to know, and not many people need to know other than the full time staff. Once things are official then the news travels down line and eventually gets out to the public. I first learned of Xcalibur in january, and i believe it didn't go public until late Feb. or march. Also all of this talk of six Flags doign poorly and being sold. Thats just people making up crap. I have seen no indications AT ALL to belive any of those stupid rumors.
Wow 11 posts and he already has the right to talk trash about people. One thing that you seemed to have overlook is the word "rumor" that has been attached to ALL posts that have had anything about SFStL being sold. Also you may have known about Xcalibur in Janurary, but a few us knew before you. One good indication was when Evolution was being taken down up at SFGAdv.

Well first of all, 11 posts doesn't mean anything, ive been posting here for over a year now. Just because i don't post alot doesn't mean im new here. Second, just because Evolution was taken down doesn't mean anything. Everyone knew that ride was very troubled in New Jersey. For all you knew it was being taken down to be scrapped. No one except the high ups that made the decision knew that it was destined for SFSL.

Now im not trying to start anything, i like the park as much as most. Ive been going there all my life and ive worked there for 6 years now and have moved up pretty high. I spend ALL summer at that place. All im saying is that when people make stupid accusations, especially the selling the park to AB, annoys me, because all of these statements are crap with absolutly no proof at all.

wow, this thread is back. Seems like so long ago. I have since changed my cbuzz name (formerly Mr. Freeze979, look back a few pages) and I no longer call SFSl home (that title goes to SFGAm)

Anyway, i would like to see something new in sfsl, they need it but I would only expect to see a flat or two (they are desperately needed but..). Hopefully they get something big but just like every other park that is highly unlikely.

Wow that one left a mark, i dont think I have ever been attacked that harsly. I would like to say in my own defence that most of the things I say I do not pass along as fact, rather as just mere speculation. Most of the things I post are only rumers and hear say that goes around the park.

In the past the only things I have ever been right on is some pittally $%#^, the scooby transformation (hey i was right on that a year before it opened.) and the Mr dreeze lap bars (I was only ahead of the game by like 3 months on that.). That "source" is now gone.

Next off I would like to clear up once and for all I DO NOT WORK FOR SFSTL I just merely work there as a supervisor for Observ. So we wont ever have too worry about me making any important desisions.

And who are you to yell at me, at least I add positivly into the discussion instead of attacking people. And besdies who are you. No names need to be said, jsut share with us your department and your job title.

Welp that is all. SFSL I have a slight feeling you know who I am, so that is probly why you went after me. After all it is a small park. And I am hated by a few (hundred) people out there

Im not mad at you or anyone, nor do i know you or you know me. My intentions were not to attack, although looking back, i said some things that probably could have been left out. I never intended this to become so heated. Its just with all ive experienced at the park through the time ive worked there ive found that just about all things are kept secret until the very last minute.

Now i like hearing rumors as much as the next person, thats why ive been reading and posting here for some time now. True i don't post alot, But i do read every single post that has to do with this topic.

As for me, my department and my job title, well id rather not say. you've probably seen me at one time or another. Im all over the park, mostly in the top half. I will be at the park working this weekend, ya might even see me. I never meant to offend anyone.

Well getting back on track. On the latest update over at screamscape.com (9/29), they mentioned the idea of SFSTL getting SFGAM old Shockwave. What are all of your thoughts on this. I think its not very probable, but yet still possible. It almost feels as if SFSTL is gonna turn into another SFAW.

SFStL already has a crappy arrow looper.

Edit: Ninja is Vekoma. It is still crappy, though, and very similar to the arrows. Sorry for the mistake.

Are you sure about that?

Sure about it being an Arrow (which it is not), or sure about it being crappy (which, even though I ride it alot, it is).

As far as Shockwave comming to SFStL... If they do as nice of a job as they did with Xcalibur / Evolution it would be all right. The only bad part of Shockwave was the transition into the MCBR - fix that and you have a pretty good ride.

However, I see two big downsides to Shockwave comming here... 1) It would probably kill any hope of something good comming for the next several years, and 2) it would probably mean the Ninja would be gone. Considering that Ninja never has a line now, if there was a "bigger and better" version of it then no one would ever ride it.

You know I think we are going to have to face the 3 N's and a Y: Nothing New Next Year. I mean look at what we have gotten in the last 4 years though. The Boss in 2000. Sling Shot in 2001 (I think), Scooby Doo 2002: great popularity and top notch ride, Q-bot fast lane 2002, Excalibur in 2003. Yes they wernt all HUGE investments and not record breaking rides. But it still is something new or rehabed. I just think it is a shame that there arent using that east side of the park. I mean the park has had good attendance this year although it is down from last year, and its the small things that count. The park is clean, very nicely themed compared to other parks, lots of trees and landscaping, and right now at night during fright fest this park is pretty neat to be in. The only thing I dont know is the actual finance situation. They probably just dont have that kind of money for a bran new ride.

------------------

The Slingshot came around Memorial Day last year (2002). The only things that were "new" in 2001 were Turbo Bungy and the VR Theater thing in front of Batman. So really there were no new rides in 2001.
Ok i thought it was tiem to beat a dead horse (this fourm). Almost every other park has been talked about thus far on message boards and Screamscape except SFSTL. So any body got any ideas or thoughts on to whats going on at the park for the 04 season. So far all i know is that they are doign some general improvements.

I should know more in Feb. Which is when I am probly gonna be back in the park for the first time this year.

PS the sfstl website has been updated.

I do know that I plan on doing a blast from the past roadtrip down to St. Louis this summer.

From Chicago, I will take on the mother road from the windy city to St. Louis. That mother road being the historic Rte 66.

Obviously once I get there, SFSTl will be on the agenda along with other St. Louis attractions.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Make sure to ask any questions you might have about St. Louis, I am sure you will get plenty of help.

If anything, I would ask questions on how to navigate Rte. 66 as it is not on any road atlas's anymore.

I have been to St. Louis and SFSTl before but did it via the highway.

I thought that Hurricane Harbor was getting a new slide tower structure, much like Hurricane Mountain complex that was added to SFWoA this past season. Or has that changed?

The only thing that I know the park is getting for sure is a new restaurant to replace McDonald's (probably a Mooseburger Lodge). As of last week there was nothing going on at the park.
