SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

I wish chance would update this ride with open cars and higher capacity. It is one of my favorate carnaval rides, but it's not perfect for big parks. A larger version would solve one of it's problems and make it more attractive for parks to purchase.

Is my math correct in that it can only hold 24 riders at a time? Just think of the Zippers line if it goes in at SFStL, especially the first year or two.

Yeah, the Great Escape seems like an odd spot for a ride, but I agree with Steve in that it would be a good place in the park, since there isn't a whole lot around it, unlike the AXIS area. Also, I'm kinda hoping that it's not a Zipper because of what Matt said. If we do get a Zipper, we can probably expect SLOW queue lines to form. Doesn't it seem odd that they would put in a Zipper at SFSTL, when there isn't one at any other Six Flags? (that I'm aware of) Oh well. I'm really exciting about getting a new ride, even if it is a flat ride. But, I'm still really wanting some sort of drop ride! I love those! A ride like Acrophobia @ SFOG would be great! Oh well. :-)

If its a zipper then its huge, there was more than 10 ride vechiles in the parking lot. But i will agree the veichels kinda looked like those on a zipper. And if any thing the ride would be put at axis games.

1. The building Axis game is in is run down.

2. The parts are on that side of the park and if a ride were to go in there than the HH parking lot would make sense to be a holding area.

3. They have pretty much guted it durning FF.

4. Noone ever goes to that building any more sense they moved the exit to HH.

5.The exit to HH was moved (probly not real a factor.)

6. That end of the park is probly the slowest corner of the park, and Gene he probly wanted to increase foot traffic in that corner.

7. The Great escape along with the palce and britina arcade are operated by a leese.

To the person who keeps deleteing my account: This is really starting to become annyoieing.(sp?)
P.s For those of you that dont understand my humor I misspelled the word above on purpose. The reason for doing this was to A. Hopefully Annoyie And B.It was

Oh, I didn't think about that one...That arcade IS owned b a lessee. And yes i do like number six Bossstl....If Gene could have his way he would have stepping stone to every section in the park. ;-) I think it would be more productive to put the ride by Axis and the Joker...or in Old Chicago. Those seem to be the two areas that are *less traveled*. Probably because there are less food places...fat Americans. ;-)

Not to mention the fact that people are too lazy to travel up the "gigantic" hill in Old Chicago while they're sucking on turkey legs, IHateFaceClocks :-) Anyhoot, I agree with Bossstl on where this so called "Zipper" would be placed...I couldn't imagine the Great Escape being ripped apart just so a crappy carnival ride with bad capacity could be placed in its footprint, which by the way doesn't exactly have much room for a queue as large as the Zipper would demand(there's a lot of traffic through the tight corridor leading to The Boss, past Friar Tuck's). If the ride was placed where Axis games is now, that would be the Backlot section right? So what kind of theme could they use?

Thanks EagleGuy for the pic. *IF* these alleged supports are indeed for a new ride, it most certainly isn't a Chance Zipper. Even if SFStL was installing one (which, btw happens to still be my favorite carny ride after all these years) it would most likely be shipped to the park via a single semi trailer that would include the entire ride. There are no round coaster-like steel poles involved. Of course, there could be a brand new theme park version of the Zipper available but I'm sure that we would have known about it by now. It would have made a big splash at IAAPA, IMHO. Also, as mentioned by others I cannot imagine even Six Flags installing this low capacity ride. The lines would be horrific!

Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see. It's probably yet another ride that will sit in our graveyard never to be put in use. Anyone remember the Vekoma "Time Warp" type ride that sat on the grass in pieces before the 2001 season? C'mon Six Flags, USE what you have! Goodness knows that SFStL could use it!

Happy New Year!

Jeff

But what about the orange track? Where did it vanish to?

Could it possibly be an impulse? It wouldnt take long to build, the colors would almost match up with Great Americas V2, i think sfsl will get an impulse
I would be really happy with an impulse, but would Six Flags put 2 impulses so close together? I mean, there is one in Chicago. Actually, Six Flags probably WOULD do this, I mean, they did it with Batman. (even though the one at SFSTL is a little different, you still get the drift)

Yep

Six Flags wouldn't second guess an impulse if they knew it was reliable and cheap they'd do it. Will this be a chance morgan zipper? Zipper's scare the crap out of me ever since I was 8 and I got a nasty gash from banging my head on one of the "padded" grip bars.

After reading my post above and all that followed, I just realized I got the Axis and the Great Escape Arcades mixed-up. To clarify, I thought the rumored area was up by the entrance to Thunder River, but it appears that it is indeed by the Hannibarrel section / HH exit. Sorry.

Steve

Anything new happening?
I also want to know if the intamin track was made up or it actually existed.

So many claim they are going to get pics but never do. I wonder why.
The track was seen in Kansas City. The track never surfaced at SFSL. There are supports in the parking lot that appear to be for a large flat ride. There were no pictures promised for the track, but there IS a picture of the supports. Click Here
I was actually out there today and decided to drive on the outter road to take a look. There are indeed no doubt blue large yet sort of short supports in the parking lot. And now to the left of those are what look to be the cars or cages for this thing. Im sorry I dont have pics but you can take my word for it.

People...as much fun as a Zipper is, put that rumor to rest. It ain't gonna happen.

Sig under construction!

So then where is all this stuff going?

Those supports look awful thick for a flat ride.... Definitely not Zipper supports. Take a look at this website and tell me if you see any thick supports like the photo shows??

Man, the suspense builds, eh moosh.... ;)
