Oh. Mr. Shapiro. Are you reading what I'm reading? Their is a small amusement park in Maryland that could use the same retrofit of electronics?
A day at the park is what you make it!
X-Flight and Batwing are far superior design-wise and technological-wise as compared to BORG, the ride formerly known as Stealth.
BORG reclines up and down in the station with the help of an elevator beside the train (in the station) and is then locked into place. X-Flight and Batwing have motors on each car to raise and lower the cars. I'm not sure how BORG operated as Stealth, but from how I see BORG running now I don't see it as much of an improvement over X-Flight and Batwing.
Don't get me started on those awful seats!
EDIT: Doh! Jeffrey beat me to it!

Me, I'm personally hoping for Metallica, Audioslave, Guns N' Roses, or Van Halen. Aerosmith was already taken :)
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
BigJim - I'll take the drum kit only if Neil Peart is sitting behind it! :) and yes Gator that 's what I'm getting at. ;)

but another idea came to me. what if the park doesnt have the operating budget to run three LIM powered coasters? i mean, Volcano and FoF together, i would think, take a whole lot of juice to run. and i dont count Hypersonic, because really, its nothing more than a big, fancy air compressor, which i wouldnt think would be a huge drain on power. now with Italian Job (it is LIM powered right?), that would be even more electricity being used, AND from what i can tell, in the same general area of the park, which means the three LIM coasters would be all on the same power grid. energy costs here in Virginia have gone up considerbly, as i am sure they have everywhere else. high oil prices, the recent deaths in West Virginia bringing a virtual hault to coal exportation from the Appalachians, all add up to whats sure to be a record quarter regarding energy costs. and with Paramount Parks heading into a sale, its possible that the park may want to cut down expenses as much as possible.
so they might have sat down, and decided of the two standing LIM coasters, Volcano was the bigger expenditure and more popular/visible attraction, so keep it and 86 FoF. just my two cents. mind you, this is only my opinion, i didnt get this rumour from somewhere else, so dont take it to the bank, lol...feel free to comment
stinks though, if indeed FoF is gone for good, i really did like that coaster. after the restaint change, it became a really fun ride. still doesnt beat Jokers Jinx (its all about no MCBR friends lol), but a fun ride nonetheless...

still trying to think of a good signature...
If electrical demands are the prime concern for closing FOF then don't you think the park would've taken that into consideration before they even requested that a clone of IJ:TS< or whatever they'll call it next> be designed & built?
The facts remain though. Bids were placed by contractors back in early Dec. for relocating the ride. *** Edited 2/5/2006 2:17:32 AM UTC by swampfoxer***

Someone asked about Flight of Fear today at Eastcoaster and the answer was "It won't open for 2006." The followup question about 2007 was left open ended with no answer.
Not to nitpick, but I believe the answer to that question was also, "Flight of Fear will not open in 2006." ;)
Could it be<...& I know I'm going out on a limb here> that they may be in the initial planning stages to add something like a hyper in that section of the park?it's always a possibility but one that at this point doesn't seem likely but I just thought I'd throw that in to see what everyone thinks.
