Screamscape: PKD FOF Not Reopening?

http://www.screamscape.com/html/paramount_s_kings_dominion.htm

I've seen this spread several places today already... Surely they wouldn't be removing a ride that is very popular, and only nine (Almost Ten) years old?

I figure at most it's a retheming. But wouldn't that be an offseason project?

I think it's a retheming thing that will be done next off season. The park recently updated their website and FoF is still listed as a coaster. I think this is the boomerang of the park survey done a season or two ago where they were talking about turning it into a VH1 or MTV themed soundstage. Ala Rock 'N Roller at Disney MGM.

I rode FoF last summer and thought it was running exceptionally well. I can't see this coaster leaving before Shockwave.

A day at the park is what you make it!

YAY I hope its an Addams Family Re-theme it could be done VERY easily!

When at Kings Island Ride The Beast.

I hope it doesn't get those horrible OTSR's back!

^I agree, John! :-O

Wow.

Flight of Fear has just been removed from the rides listing on KingsDominion.com

That is odd. It is still listed on pki.com however so it is not like it is being "removed" from both parks... or will it be? I would have figured that it would have been done to both rides at the same time. Very interesting indeed.

Sorry guys, but I'm personally hoping it's moving out West!!!
Back on Dec. 8th you will find a short-lived thread that I started about the relocation of both FOFs. As expected, no one believed me and Jeff locked the thread. But facts are facts.

Looks like I may have the last laugh after all!
:)

If Paramount removes this coaster, it will rank right up there with the stupidest idea ever conceived and willn't be to far behind, if not tie, the SF No Reentry Policy

A day at the park is what you make it!

Remember, this is the same company that jerked the Flying Scooter out of Kings Island last year and replaced it with GRASS.

Stupid decisions are not beyond their capacity, not by a long shot.

Coasterguts, I agree with you completely. This is one of the best coasters in the park, and they would be making a HUGE mistake removing it. It's not like the coaster is 30 yrs old and falling apart, so I have to wonder what they are thinking.
This is so stupid if they remove this ride, it's probably the park's best and with the lapbars, everyone I have ridden with seemed to love it. What is that other POS still doing there (ehum Togo)?
Avalanche has been removed from the PKD site too!

WTF is this?!

I really hope they don't get rid of Avalanche. It's the only one of its kind in the US so it would be a huge loss, at least if FOF left, there is Joker's Jinx at SFA (I know the experience is different indoors but it's close)
With Great America as my "home park," I rub my hands greedily with anticipation. :)

^ Exactly. That Mack sled is an awesome ride, and if I wasn't such an absolute sucker for that one-trick pony H:XLC, it'd be my favorite steelie in the park.

I really hope something's gone wrong with their website or something, the steel *is* the reason to go to PKD... ;)

Since their wood just doesn't cut it, LOL... :)

edited in order to prevent any misunderstandings: The wood at PKD just needs better *maintenance* IMO, it's not bad by design, LOL...as always, YMMV...

edited again after 'Tuan's post...only way I'd be HAPPY about going back to PGA... ;)

Whoa Whoa no, won't belive it till I see it. Flight of Fear has the some of the longest lines in the park. It usually always has a full Q, AND is flooding out.

That's because the capacity is so low. ;)
