Maybe Paramount knows exactly what they are doing, their priorities just happen to be different than ours in the coaster-enthusiast world.
Yeah, that's what the enthusiast community thinks, but they don't have access to the books, the research or the financial goals of the company. Moving the flyers, Stealth, whatever, isn't something they'd do without some strategic goal in mind.

I am not familiar with such things, but I believe there are tax liabilities and logistical issues that a company faces when transferring product from one division to another. That coupled with actual dismantling, moving and re-assembly costs can raise the cost of relocation higher than a new install.

I know why they're removing FOF. PKD only has enough power to operate 3 launching coasters at once so in comes Italian Job and out goes FOF. (/sarcasm)

It was probably the most popular choice in one of the latest what would you like to see online polls the parks put out. A rock and roll themed lauched coaster.
Now lets face it. The whole ALIEN thing kinda died about 2001. But back in 1996-97 when the ride was being built, Little green men were everywhere. Bumper stickers, Puppets ect.
Thing Im wondering is who or what band it will be themed too, Who's music?
Chuck, who could see Paramount going generic and just comming up with something themselves that nobody knows.
Oh, And VIVE LE FLYER BOYCOTT!
You brought it up!
Dave Dragon, go Dave Dragon, and the Star Force Five!
The inner Q could have a soundstage with a warm up band. Maybe even sometimes having live entertainment of local bands *Heck, Sometimes your in the inner Q for 45 minutes)
The ride would be you taking the stage, with onboard music on the trains and a, And-ah one and ah two and ah three countdown to a rock and roll ride.
I've never been on Disneys but If they do it right, It could be really good. FOF always bothered me because it had al this themeing that basically most of it never worked. I think it was down to one strobe light out of 15 on the ship. The music in the Bowl was almost never on (Not that you could hear it well anyhow) and the entrance and exit sayings weren't on or working most of the time. The total package working was pretty darn neat.
We enjoyed our visit to your charming world, Now welcome to ours!

Hire Oompa Loompas....?
Haven't we been through this over and over again? How is removing a ride that at best pushed a couple hundred people an hour short sighted? I think you're not looking at the bigger corporate picture, which matters more for the company than what a bunch of disgruntled enthusiasts who account for .001% of attendance think. I miss the ride too, but to say that PKI is worse off for it is something that I find totally ridiculous.

It's still a big deal because it shows how short-sighted some business people can be.

I honestly don't think FOF is going anywhere,if paramount wanted another LIM launcher they'd order it from Premier rides rather than relocate a ten year old model...besides if you look at an older map from just a few years before volcano was added you'll see how it reads "future attraction" & of course that's what was added just two or three years later.
Stealth was relocated after only three years of operation,it was a maintenance nightmare & Carowinds seemed to benefit more from it while PGA got a new waterpark out of the deal.Relocating PKI's eagles was much different & easier than attempting to relocate a multi million dollar coaster so my verdict & interperetation of things is that PKD simply doesn't have the ride listed on their site right now for the same reason that SF doesn't list all major rides in any given park on it's respective site.
Now if FOF doesn't operate & they appear to be removing it then I'll start to worry but until then I'm not all that concerned about it going anywhere....then again after the late announcement for IJ:TC & it's subsequent name changes over the past few months nothing would be too suprising about this park anymore.
I'm betting that shockwave will go first before any other coaster is removed from the park & I'd rather see that piece of firewood known as hurler get the axe first.
Sorry!
Premier totally did the electronics on Stealth in the move from PGA to PCAR and the ride runs much more reliably.
FOF is a pretty reliable ride now. It had it's problems years 1-3 but they've pretty much got it worked out.
