Scream So Far= Medusa east Mirror

Scream appears to be an exact mirror of medusa east so far. If it turns out to be that is evil cause clones are bad but even if it is californians be happy cause it is an awesome ride and your colors are better. :-P
Dude, its not a mirror. It has some of Medusa East's elements, but in a different order and layout.

but dude it looks just like it so far even the bank in the drop and into the diving loop
Who really gives a rat's you-know-what if it is a clone of Medusa east? It's a new B&M coaster, it's an awesome design... who wouldn't want this at their park? I mean, come on people! Give it a rest with the "It's just a clone" crap. It's getting REALLY old...

"DUH"! Some of us explained a long time ago that this coaster was a mirror. Why do you think SFMM was so coy in their announcement of the ride? And why do you think they're putting so little into the theming and landscaping of the ride? This ride reeks of a last minute decision to add a quality ride at low cost, in the quickest way possible.

I personally would have perferred a mirror of Nitro, but then we already have Goliath. And yes, the colors are wonderful.

Wow. And the whole bunch of you just figured it out? It's like you're just realizing Bush is the new president, HELLO old news.

Scream IS a clone :P of medusa, so? it wouldnt be a bit better if they scrambled the elements, *sigh* we all know this will be a very good coaster ya?

Actually, if that was the order of elements it wouldn't be a clone of Medusa. The MCBR needs to come before the 270-degree helix.

Now I'm not all that familiar with the inner workings of the industry, but I'm pretty sure that multi-million dollar "last minute decisions" don't happen.

If it is a mirror, you people shouldnt complain at all. The Zero G roll is great, as are the interlocking corkscrews. Just another high quality coaster for all you lucky californians!!

In the world of Six Flags, yes it does. Thought you knew...

any1 know a website for good pics of medusa?

This would ruin the point of putting in a clone. A clone saves time and money not having to draw up plans, etc. If they used a different layout and order of elements, it would be it's own unique coaster.

Since Six Flags is in debt. I can see why they would go for the clone. Although I don't like clones. But I can see the reasons, and totally understand in SF state. If I was running the Co. I would do the exact same thing. The GP doesn't know the difference! Only hardcore enthusiasts, who do not make up all of the parks income.

So THAT'S why we were able to pick up stock in PKS for 3.50/share. I just *knew* there had to be a reason...;). Seriously though, the decisions SFI has made in the past 6 months or so speak VOLUMES...I suspect this recent fiscal restraint can only help them in the long run...
who cares if it's a clone. I wish Six Flags Darien Lake would atleast have one B&M clone or not
My point exactly jwhoogs. My point exactly.

Who cares if it's a clone? It's still a brand-spankin'-new B&M coaster for 2003. It's a crowd-pleaser, and that's exactly what SFMM needs after their patrons wait in a 4 hour long line for X. A TON of parks in the country or the world for that matter would love to have a brand-new B&M coaster, regardless of it's layout. Plus, it still helps the count! :)

I, as well, have never understood the whole 'clone' complaint.

Park guests don't skip ferris wheels, tilt-o-whirls, log rides, or other rides that have clones in just about every single park...*why* would any of us think they'd treat coasters any differently.

Why do people see movies they enjoyed more than once or even buy the DVD? Because they enjoyed it enough the first time and know they'll get enjoyment from it on further viewings. So if someone enjoyed their ride on Medusa East and came to SFMM they'd complain that "this is just like the one back home" and skip it?

Get real, people!

The only people who complain about clones are *enthusiasses.*

The *clone complaint* is valid only under very SPECIFIC circumstances...the first and foremost is that it has to be a clone of a crappy ride. Vekoma Boomerangs fit this case. Beemers just don't....this coming from someone who *does* complain about the preponderance of Beemers here in the "showroom"...think about it....

...much as it pains me to admit it, 'Moosh is "spot on"...;)

alrite... arlok can u please not make these pointless topics. It is a roller coaster, it is a B&M, so i don't see how anyone could be dissing it already (unless you have vertigo, well maybe a mild case). Enjoy, and don't make these stupid posts.
