The Sandusky Register is reporting that Space Spiral and Disaster Transport will be removed for a Bolliger & Mabillard wing coaster to open in 2013 at Cedar Point.

Tech, I gave you a Vote Up for your prize! Also, next time you pay a visit to Camden Park, I will buy you a Pronto Pup. :D
I forgot about Batwing at SFA. I guess I ignore the Vekoma flying coasters, subconsciously, for some reason. Maybe it's because they have long lines due to the loading situation, and that they are more terrifying than thrilling. I am always afraid of what would happen if it malfunctioned while I am riding. I just don't like them. lol
I've rode all three, The one presently at KI, I have experienced at both of it's locations. It's strange how I can forget that they exist.

It is a real handy feature when you are walking around the park looking for a particular food item.

Avalanche Run - Opening at Dorney Park in 2013!
I know you're kidding, but wouldn't it be funny if after years of Knoebels' trial and error with Flying Turns, Dorney just turned around and put in their own?

I didn't know you ever could tell, Gonch (smiley face). Now I'm confused.

I just can't wait to see you on the midway so I can point at you and tell you how wrong you are about Firehawk.
Then I'm going to score with a lot of hot chicks because of my badassery.

I would love to see Avalanche Run come to Dorney, but I doubt if they have room for anything like that unless they do some major land clearing.
As for Space Spiral...I didn't know it was a Von Rol ride...always thought all the Observation Towers were Intamin. Is Hershey's Kissing Tower any different from Space Spiral besides the different cabin?
I wonder if Hershey's is anywhere near needing major rehab or removal...anyone know much about it's condition? It looks to be in great shape, windows are clear and a/c always works too.

I wish they could put it where the Dinos are, but I doubt it. I'm guessing that area hasn't been developed until now for a reason. I assume that because of zoning they can't really do much with that land.
New at Michigan's Adventure for 2013 "Wolverine Wild Alien Space Coaster". Completely redesigned with a newly installed pole barn to enclose the entire coaster. The ride previously known as "disaster transport" at Cedar Point will be dismantled this year. The bobsled coaster inside will be moved to Dorney Park. The warehouse structure with its immense theming will be moved to Michigans Adenture and will be rebuilt around the Wolverine Wildcat. Cedar Fair hopes to increase attendance at their most profitable park in 2013 and this upgrade goes a long way to impress Michiganders.
Had to look up winged coasters on Google, not even on RCDB that I saw. Not surprising CP is getting in on the new style, and even if it is easy to build the biggest and fastest because there are so few, I read somewhere it's supposed to have a 170-foot first hill. I'll definitely be in line next year.
I agree though CP should put in some more family rides. Hoping the Wildcat stage replacement is only temporary, they could use that space for an updated mouse-style coaster or a few family rides. I've ridden a few small but really run rides at other parks.
One ride I will be devestated if they ever remove is Cedar Downs.

Don't count on it. Especially since they poured a lot of concrete to frame in the area. That stage isn't going anywhere.
And they are using the stage for things other than just Garden Variety Luminosity...

(Whose bright idea was it to do this on a July Saturday?)
I find it amusingly ironic that 2 years ago there was a huge marketing build up to announce a log flume. Yet, a removal of 2 major attractions and addition of a coaster is announced via a board memo.
I'm not sure how that's ironic, but it's obviously not intentional.

Yeah, it seems pretty clear to me that this was not how they planned to unveil the news.

If you want to be technical, they still haven't unveiled anything. The coaster we thought they'd build? Going to Knott's now. :)
