Renting the Puyallup Fair Coaster Thrill Ride

I called the Puyallup Fair today to confirm if the Puyallup Fair coaster is available to rent. They told me that it is,but they could not confirm a price and they would be contacting me in a few weeks with a figure. They did tell me that it would be less expensive to rent close to when the fair is running due to the amount of work to get the coaster up and running,as they would already be doing this work for the fair.I was thinking a good time to do this would be during the time of CAC and the ACE day at the PNE,as some of you would be already in the area. Also,I think we should specifically ask for the yellow Prior & Church train for this event(Ole Yeller). The more people that come, the lower the cost per person.I think this would be good event for Coasterbuzzers who are not able to attend the fair and who would like to add a special credit to their track record.Who is interested? What do you you think of this?Click on www.thefair.com for more information. Also the Spring Puyallup dates are April 10-13,2003.

Wow, that would just be TOO cool. Silverwoodies, WW/EV, PNE (is the ACE day pre-scheduled already?), then add on Puyallup AND the long-since SBNO *thriller* M:TR...the Pacific Northwest has just SO much to offer...:)

Don't forget the Windstorm!

I'd be down for the C:TR rental if it's not *too* expensive.

I officially nominate nasai to be in charge of this. :)

Chis,I second that nomination! All in favor say Aye!C,mon 'Moosh you need to jump in here.I know your goons are lurking! Anders,Coaster Thrill Ride is 1935 John Miller woodie that has one Prior and Church train and two 1950 Prior & Church reproduction trains. Not very portable and completely safe:)-----------------

I know that Rob has lots of free time to organize such an event, so he's the perfect candidate. ;)

Anders, The Coaster Thrill Ride is a historic 1930s wooden coaster that operates only during a short period when the ajacent fair is operating. It is not portable. Here is more info for you:

If it could be done around CAC time next year, myself and 2 others would definitely be interested!

Hey now, Chris!;) ...free time....? ....me....?

I don't know about being in charge of this, BUT I would join in the fray if the cost of doing this was REASONABLE. We could arrange this on the Friday or Sunday of CAC. I would vote for Friday, personally. Is CAC already planned in full, and if so, is it hitting with the ACE event at PNE? If not, can the ACE day or CAC day be moved so we can hit it all? I don't know about you guys, but this is a hell of a weekend of fun (and torture for the drive), and it would be worth it to have as many as possible out for this. For those of you who don't know, Coaster: Thrill Ride is a gem of a ride with smooth and perfectly tracking Prior & Church type trains (the Yellow car is indeed a real P&C), and some wonderful floaty air at all hill tops and corners. Some sweet laterals too. Besides, you will need a break before the legendary Coaster at PNE gets ahold of you. Coaster will have you begging for knee braces, and shin guards...:)

Hey Ron!!!! You handle this, eh??? LOL!

CAC is set for August 23rd this year. When is the ACE day at Playland?

Is Chitown really "North" of Washington....my geography must be off... We will be "over" or even "out" for the happenings, but I haven't been able to be *down* since 'Playa confiscated my "official blackitude pass"...;).

Cost is certainly a factor, but shouldn't be too outrageous if we can get a contingent together...

...but, to reiterate chris question: WHEN is ACE day?

I'm not only 'down,' I'm 'all good.'

I've even got a card in my wallet that proves it. :)

All THAT thing proves is that some kind-hearted Sista took pity on you...;) But on a pleasant aside, you ARE all good chris....

bill, tearing up again....I get so sentimental....some call it "moosh-y"....;)

Ron and everyone - It is my mission to be at CAC next August, along with some friends of mine. In addition to Silverwood we plan PNE and EV as well. I think I can speak for them that we'd all be interested in renting Coaster *if* its financially feasible.

Count us in!

Thanks for the plug, Ron!

As I am NOT an ACE member (gasp!!!), I don't have an idea, but I believe the event is supposedly pencilled in for the 2nd to last Saturday of August?

3 others ;)

Count me in as "interested if it's reasonable". Although there's a good chance I'd go to the Puyallup next year anyway -- there's other credits to be had there... ;)

I'll go if the cost isn't to much. I wish I would have made it up to the fair this year but I was to busy.

Hunter, you are in Portland, correct? Just hop in the car with Ron!

I hear M:TR is a great terrain woodie. Is this true?
