Other than that, I AAed Can't Stop Falling in Love and Think Ya Better D. Easy songs, but something new to me.
BTW how hard is Bag? I think I can do it, but I have never tried. Same with Sakura. Its going to be a while until I can get to my arcade again, so maybe i can mentally focus, if that's even possible with DDR...
Rich, you too!! *does the same* 300 is nooooo joke. The first time i passed it was um, about a week shy of my 1st anniversary playing DDR. And man, was i proud of that 'D'. :) Good stuff, you two. Good stuff indeedy.
Bag on 1x owns me. plain and simple, it owns me. I'm getting better at it, but on 1x, i can only get to about half the song. Nice work, AB.
Rich, Bag isn't a hard song, unless you leave it on 1x, because it's so slow. Sakura isn't that hard compared to other 10ers because there's hardly ANY 8th note streams, despite the fact that the song starts off at 300bpm, then eventually gets up to 320 (a hard song to PA though).
Let's see, what did i do today?
Just a few noteable accomplishments from me(nothing as big as passing 300 for the first time =D):
FC R&P with 29 greats, not bad if i do say so myself.
FC Afronova (!) with 19 or so greats (another '!')
9 greats on Irresistiblement
6 on Do you remember me
some other SDG's that i don't remember, thus making them not important. :D
I tried the oni course Trick. I didn't make it far at all, but it was too much fun. I'm definitely gonna work on this. :)
I think that's it from Kel, and again, a major congrats to the both a' yaz. =)
I played a bit at the arcade today, and bit the bullet and tried some Oni's! I didn't pass any of course, but I got a good way into a few of them. I got to Luv to Me Disco Mix in Club Ver., through DXY and almost through V Oni on the IIDX one and into Memories on some Naoki one.
And also full-comboed Random All Nonstop Heavy! The songs weren't difficult at all, Living in America, Look to the Sky True Color Mix, Silent Hill Oni and Love Shine, all 7-footers, but still..
Speaking of Nonstop, does any get the same songs over and over? Living in America, Witch Doctor, Love Love Sugar, Do It Right, Healing Vision Angelic Mix and End of the Century all haunt my Nonstops. I'm especially sick of Love Love Sugar, I've honestly gotten that one about 8 times.
About Bag - The first time I tried it, I did it on x1 and failed in a matter of seconds. So I tried it on x1.5 - failed. x2 - failed. x3 - passed. Since then, I've played it many, many times on x3 and gotten really good at it. But I haven't tried it on x1 since then. I need to do that.
About Sakura - What little 8th-note runs it has are very easy ones.. nothing even as hard as the runs in Max 300 standard. The tricky thing about it is learning to anticipate the speed changes and to read the gallops in the slow part, IMO. Study the step chart before you play it.
Kel - FC AFRONOVA? Holy crap. Even if I could make it through those beginning crossovers without missing two or three steps, there's NO WAY I could hit all the jumps at the end. I usually hit three of seven at the most. Nice work!
Ramona - I would guess that most people here don't have Xbox, but the song Matsuri Japan is also on two Playstation versions. It's a great song.
AB - I've just recently gotten to the point where I feel confident enough to try Onis in the arcade. Next time I go, I'ma work on them. As for Nonstop, yes, I haven't noticed certain songs repeating, but sometimes it seems to give you songs in themes (like Christmas/winter songs, or really old/1st mix songs), or it will alternate ridiculously hard songs with lame ones (once I got Remember You followed by Paranoia Survivor).
On friday my school is getting a rented DDR machine(how wierd is that?) for our spring carnival. I don't know what mix it is, but me and my friend Alex are going to be on it all day.
Oh, and some crap. My PS2 Deleted all of my unlocks on Max2, so I don't have access to End of the Century, Burning heat, etc. Boo!
I don't touch any buttons on the system as long as the card is inserted...
As for new accomplishments, I passed Max 300 again, so I didn't get lucky like I thought. Missed FCing Paranoia Evolution by one good... ruined my AA as well.
Kel, FC on Afronova is insane! For me, the jumps wear me out, and when the end comes I'm exhausted.
Pinkdoomofmonkeys my dream is to have a DDR machine at school. Make the most of it. :D (My nearest machine is an hour away, so thats why it is a dream to me.) *** Edited 4/28/2004 7:45:07 PM UTC by Rich_Johnson***
I'm 10 years out of high school, but I never heard of video games in school before. But what do I care, I've got six machines within a 20-minute drive. ;)
About schools and DDR machines, I have a recreation class where we went to a bowling alley with an Extreme every day for a month, then we went to a Mini Golf with a 2nd Mix for the next month. Is that good enough? :)
About memory cards, yeah, yeah, mine have been corrupted a few times. Funny thing is, I never even thought once about taking the memory card out. Den, you're a genious. And if your card keeps getting corrupted, make sure you erase ALL the data. My friend's card kept getting corrupted because she forgot to erase her workout data.
I wish I had that many machines around me... All I have is my metal pad... I like the attention. :)
Rythm & Police-Heavy-A
Era-Heavy-A
Tsugaru-Heavy-A
Twlight Zone-Heavy-A
Not to mention, if you're an attention whore (as most DDR players seem to be), you're not going to be satisfied, because you'll either be a) playing with a bunch of people who are all insanely good and hardly blink at AAA's; or b) playing by yourself with no one around, because all the players tend to go to one location at a time.
Not that I'm complaining - I play on Saturday mornings. :)
I live in So. Cali so there's at least 20 or so machines within a 30 minute drive. It's just that some of them are in craptastic condition because of the arcade managers who either don't know about DDR machines, or don't appreciate them like we do. ^^ And i don't mind the lines, only because some of the best DDRers in So Cal come to this arcade where i play alot (besides Cal Poly Pomona) and i watch them AAA a mess of songs or SDG some stuff that starts or ends with 'Max' =D.
Wow, all of a sudden we have an influx of new people here. Welcome to all of you. :)
Oh and 7 greats on Genom Screams. =D (sorry, i had to throw that in)
All my recent AA's have been 6th mix songs... that's because of that convenient new DDRMAX machine that appeared about two miles from my front door, and practically between me and my workplace. w00t.
Other than that, nothing new, I'm on a slump. :(
Nothing!
Yeah, we got a rain out, so I guess I'll just have to wait until Monday's rescheduling.
Another thing though, yesterday I dove deep into R&P's crossovers with the miracle of training mode, and learned how to do the crossovers on the third set of 8th notes. Yay for me!
Den, a Solo 2K was one of my first machines. Of course now that i look back on it, i think Solo was one of the worse mixes (along with USA). You've never seen a Solo? Well you haven't missed a thing. ;)
Hey Rich, don't worry about the slump, man. I have them from time to time. I just seem to play my way out of them i guess.
I'm sure you'll dazzle your classmates on monday PD. =) Good things come to those who wait. Plus unlike many of us, you'll have something to look forward to on Monday. =)
Tonight i'm gonna go to James' Games in Upland where they have a 5th 7th, and EX mix. So i'll be able to play all the 9ers i've missed. I can't waaait. :D
