Of course, I should note that it's much, much harder to get perfects in the arcade, due to a smaller perfect "window," so probably very few of my home AA's would be AA's in the arcade.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
New 9-footer passed: Lupin' the 3rd. I believe that leaves Leading Cyber as the only 5th mix song I haven't passed.
New arcade AA's: Follow Me and Highs Off U, which I managed to get despite one miss. Also, I got a 5th mix AA (much easier to do) on Boom Boom Dollar K.O.G. Mix. It's worth noting, however, that it was my first time ever playing it.
Also played some doubles and I'm getting better. I can do a few 7-footer heavy songs. .59 is great fun.
p.s. Without Kel, this thread (and forum) are kinda dying. Come back, dude! o_0

First I got play on a MAX machine for the first time. It was at a food court we stopped at on the way to California, I only played one game so I tried all the songs I'd never played before.
Follow Me: The song is catchy although it borders on being annoying. Steps were decent, nothing much to say about it.
Bye Bye Baby Balloon: I've read that this is generally accepted as 9.. seemed more like an 8 to me. I liked the song a lot though, and the steps were pretty cool, although those tiny freeze arrows were kind of annoying. I liked this one the best out of the bunch, definitely would like to see it on future mixes, if there are any. Has anyone else noticed this song sounds a lot like Dam Dariram?
Flash in the Night: Ugh.. most songs have a good 6 or 7 seconds before the steps show up, not this one. I was caught off guard by the slew of arrows that shot up the screen as soon as the song started, so yeah I failed it. I didn't even get a chance, I want a rematch!
My feet are FINALLY getting faster too, to the point where I can nail the 16th's in V Oni and Grad. Cyber, but I'm still having trouble with passing Max 300 consistently, it's probably stamina more than anything though. I'm also passing Unlimited pretty much every time, but I've never gotten higher than a D. Also passed Paranoia Survivor twice, once with a D and later on with a C. I got Bag in my nonstop (I was on x1) and it wasn't bad at all. I got halfway through but still failed because I'm not familiar with it. I know I can pass it, but playing it is just torture for my ears. :(
Haven't AA'ed anything new, but got really close to AA'ing Trip Machine Climax. I used to despise that song but I have a new liking for it now that I'm a bit better.
Wow, that was long and boring.
AB! Dude, are you in cali right now?! If so, lI hope it's So Cali, so we can meet up. I haven't tried flash in the night yet on a machine, but yeah i know how it is. >_> keep trying on V (oni), it's exactly the same as MAX because of the 16th notes and the 150 bpm. You can do iiiiiiiit!
I need to go to James' Games soon (this arcade in Cali that has a 5th, 7th, and 8th mix) and try out basically a whole new world of 9ers. Soon i'll go, maybe later this week.
Keep up the good work, Den. :) Doubles is a pain. >_>
Ok, now for some updates from yours truly:
300, Para Surv: These are my 2 favorite 10's right now. I've almost full comboed them both thanx to a new technique i use that requires less energy from me. I'm getting more greats though, but the more i get used to this new stepping the more i can perfects i can get on these monstrosities.
Spin the disc: 2 freakin' Greats...
That's about all the note worthy stuf right now. I'm putting alot of my DDR into the 10's right now. I'll get back to AAAing soon.
I have no problem with the machine-gun steps in any song (more in Ska a Go Go, My Sweet Darlin', Ghosts, Witch Doctor, Across the Nightmare Oni, etc.). But I still can't pass Max 300 because of those... grrr.
Flash in the Night is growing on me in a big way. It's not so hard once you know the rhythm at the beginning and end, but definitely a 9-footer (unlike Baby Balloon).
My sister's b-day party earlier today was at a Laser Tag place with DDR. For my last song I tried Den's favorite, Can't Stop Fallin' In Love (Speed Mix). Shows how much I've gotten better at DDR. I still failed it, but I got to the last set of 1/8th note repeating steps (don't know how to express that, but you know what I'm talking about).
In comparison, I tried that song probably a year ago, and more-or-less failed after the initial L-R jump.
I've gotta try that again sometime... must... beat... song...

I fulled comboed Burnin' the Floor Momo Mix, no AA. I passed one Japanese song under the "D"s that gradually gets faster with an A. And on Max 300 (standard) I finally nailed the final spurt of 8th notes at the end.
By the way Den I forgot to say thanks, your thread about getting a new metal pad inspired me to get my own, they are great pads. I got one with a bar though. *** Edited 4/24/2004 4:32:57 PM UTC by Rich_Johnson***
Congrats goes out to you too, Mil. Rider. You're getting better. =) Unfortunately, i'm not, heh.
I haven't done any new AA's but i have gotten my MAX300 'great' count down to 77. =D Which qualifies for a AA but i missed too many steps so i didn't get it. :(
Oh well, maybe next time. And that 'D' would be Daikenkai, Rich. :)
I ventured out to Aladin's Castle today to find that our former DDR Max 2 was upgraded to DDR Extreme. I had mixed emotions about this at first but the became satisfied...it's hard to get used to at first. But for accomplishments, A on Spin the Disc on Heavy, as well as an A on Healing Vision Remix on Heavy, gotta love that song. Capitain Jack, Insertion, Kind Lady, and Healing Vision I got A's on w/ doubles. Some heavy, but most standard.
But anyways, still moving along....
I know it's been done before many times, but this is a huge accomplishment for me:
I BEAT MAX 300 HEAVY!!!!@!!@!111
Ended up with a C and 47 non-combo steps, but I don't care. After playing DDR for 20 months, I've finally beaten my first "real" 10-footer. (I don't really count Sakura and Bag).
Begin heaping kudos on me now. :)
The only thing I've done lately is pass Bag on 1x with a B. It isn't really that hard, it's just hard to time it right, so I had a whole lot of good and greats but blah who cares. Bag can go and die now.
