Alpengeist is probably my least favorite. It's kinda boring because the elements are all so enormous.

I think that's why it's my favorite invert. I love the speed and the enormity of it, especially the first half. I wonder if the fact that it was my first invert has something to do with why I think inverts don't absolutely need to be smaller and super intense with tight, quick transitions. Could explain why the Batmen are among my least favorite.
Haven't met a B&M invert I didn't like...come to think of it, I haven't met an inverted coaster I didn't like (even the invertigos, deja vus and SLCs)
Certain victory.
@KGC
OK, didn't thinks so, and you're two inverts up on me.
For me, it's not any coaster I rode, but ones I haven't. TTD and KK. It's not that I intend never to ride them. But I just don't "get" spending a really large portion of my time in a park waiting for a ride that lasts only a few seconds.
RGB, those particular coasters are the kind that you have to actually experience before "getting."
TTD amazes me after each and every ride, no matter how short/simple the ride cycle is. It may not be my favorite, but the rush it provides can't be found on many other coasters.

I'm definitely a "bigger is better" guy when it comes to loopers. Riddler's and Alpie rank very high for me. I guess I'd rather have speed than quick transitions and intensity.

Steel: 1)MF, 2)Goliath, 3)Magnum
Wood: 1)Villain, 2)Beast, 3)Roar(SFMW)
I LOVED (SFMM) Riddlers Revenge-it is my fav stand up EVER! :)
I just dont get all the MF fans here-after the 1st hill this coaster is NOTHING but a bunch of fast turns and a couple mini airtimes :(
I would rather ride Goliath, Phantoms Revenge or California Screamin ANY day!! :)

It's funny you mention Cali Screamin' after saying that Millennium Force is bland after the first hill. I found California Screamin' to be bland after the launch except for the run-of-the-mill loop.

I'm with RGB, except that I have rode TTD. The first few times I rode it, I felt the excitement, but I just don't care for it. I skip it when I can.
I really dig other launch coasters that have more to it than just the launch, like Storm Runner or Flight of Fear.

I too was fairly unimpressed with California Screamin'. As I believe I mentioned at the time, if it had been built in Sandusky, it wouldn't even break my top ten in the park.

Its The Georgia Cyclone for me. It was wonderful during its first 10 years, but way to painful now. My 2nd coaster on this poll is The Phoenix. Everyone raves about it, but I did not see the appeal.

It isn't a very interesting layout, although the on-ride audio makes it fun enough for me. I assume it was mostly built to have a wall of classic white "wooden" roller coaster supports as a backdrop for Paradise Pier, along with being a moderate thrill ride for the young and slightly-misguided theme park.
"Thank the Phoneticians!"
As far as Raptor goes, I like it, but I think Afterburn is much better. I actually like Silver Bullet, and probably Talon better too. And maybe one of the Dragons.
Just rode Boulder Dash this weekend, AV Matt said it was running at about an 8/10. I loved it! Great first drop, the out portion was wonderful, and non-stop Voyage-esq airtime all the way back.
As far as coasters I don't get, did I mention Riddlers? Boring, at lest to me. Love me some Scorcher, though. And I liked Chang.
I didn't get Riddler, either. Never have, and probably never will. It's OK, but nothing special.
Then again, I enjoy Iron Wolf. :)
The best parts of Riddlers, Patriot, Talon, Dominator, etc....basically "all of the B&M inverting coasters"....are the longer sections of non-inverting track.
Oops, almost forgot Fire Dragon...Chinese Fireball or whatever it is these days.
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
Yesterday, I finally got Viper at SFGAm. Last year it was just plain boring. This year we got some serious air.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
I love reading everyone's opinions of coasters they get and don't get and it really just hammers home the sentiment "to each his own." I have to laugh seeing all the people not liking MF or TTD as those two coasters are pretty much the only reason I flew from Atlanta to Ohio a couple of weeks ago.
Coasters I (personally) don't get:
Anything that is unnecessarily rough - Raptor, Maverick, Georgia Cyclone, etc.
Personally i am one that really hasn't got the B&M Hypers/Mega Coaster. I really think that the height of the hills especially on Diamondback really kill the sensation of speed. Now dont get me wrong the floater air on the hills is great, but it just feels like there is no momentum going for those rides after they reach the top of the hills.
With that being said i really thought that Intimidator at Carowinds was actually the first of the three that I have rode that actually made me think that there is hope for these rides.
As for rides such as the B&M inverts, I tend to still think of Raptor as the best in my book as well. Although not nearly as smooth as the 16 years past that it has been open, its definately about the pacing of that ride that really keeps me holding it as my favorite. Although as i mentioned in my trip report a while back to Carowinds, the total package of these rides is Afterburn, smooth and just element after element. Alpengeist is the one i didn't get. Although i may have set myself up for that, being that the ending was what really killed that ride to be honest, it just kind of weaves its way to the breaks after the MCBR, maybe besides the wing-over section that is all it really has.
