Poll: Line Skipping

Never

Yes

Yes, then it would stop. The rules are clearly posted. If you are with someone and they are not in line with you and then decide to get in line, it is up the the people waiting to go back.

No, Yes, Yes.

It's not like it's not apparent from the signage that you'll get kicked out. Heck, if they put a sign up that said we'll chop off your pinky if you line jump, and you jump the line, I'd be all about chopping off your pinky.

If I'm going to skip ahead of people to fill a train, I always ask first, and I've never been turned down.

How do people feel about poaching/skanking/"maximizing capacity"? i.e. coming on again *after* a ride into an empty seat? I do it all the time unless the op tells me not to, but obviously if everyone did it, the exit platform would be a mess. I've also had my seat poached when I was coming on (went across the ride to put my stuff down) and I had to hold up the train for a minute or two to get the restraints released and the guy out (and the recheck).

The only reason I don't like the "saving a spot in line for a friend" is because it's against park policy. I don't do it, even when it would help me out a lot just because it's against park policy. I have enough respect for the other guests who waited in line to not do this. Thus, I hate it when other people cut in front of me using that method.

Should it be against park policy? I don't know. Probably not. A well implemented fastpass would accomplish the same thing (but better) and would benefit park and guests. Would there be any way to verify that you had a friend/family member up front waiting for you? No.

Yes

I was in line for MF last month, and some teachers were in line just ahead of me. I was amazed to see at least a dozen of their students vault over the railings and join the teachers - who had signalled to them to join them. What role models they proved to be! Even more annoying was the fact that there was a member of the CP Police Force less than 5 metres away, who did nothing.

I hate the fact that it always seems to be the responsibility of guests to stop others cutting in line. I want to see a park employee watching each line to make sure that I, as a paying guest, am never put in the position of having to enforce park rules.

Another concern is that you could complain to a member of staff, only to have your complaint ignored and find a group of angry teens waiting for you at the ride exit...

Line jumping is theft - theft of time. The park is open for all people for the same time, and those that cut in line are stealing my riding time. Melodramatic, possibly, but it is the truth.

No( I don't consider a ride op asking for a single or double riders to come up line jumping because a-the people in line who can't be skipped up don't care that you are, and b-it dosen't make waiting any longer, and your not going ahead of more than a couple of people, cause this happens in the front of the line. If a ride op wants to max capacity on a train this way, hey, that's really making less of a wait on people in back of the line, since there are less empty seats dispatching)

Yes, dishonest, greedy, and self rightous(sp?)

Yes, kick em out! Zero Tolerance would stop this as well as other oft broken rules, anywhere.

I'm one of the people that, no matter who you are, if you're bigger than me or not, I just won't let you pass. I usually grab onto the railing with both hands casually, and stand facing forwards, ignoring the person trying to skip. If they're bigger than me, hey, bullying me stopped when I realized that I could sue or press charges on anybody that touched me in an inappropriate way. Bigger dosen't always mean stronger, or more able to kick my hiney. If they do touch me, or push me, or whatever, I just start yelling at them, and when security or a ride op comes(yelling always gets their attention;)), I tell them what happened. I have and will continue to do this. I usually go to parks by myself, or with enthusiast friends so that I don't embarrass my friends when I do this, but thankfully, it dosen't happen often.

I'm also one that will let people in front of me just so my friends can catch up, have done it often.

I see park employees watching the line, but generally the y yell out the same thing, "Do NOT sit on the handrails. Please remove your fat rear from the handrails. HANDrails are not made for sitting or standing."

Gaps in lines...I am guilty of standing, watching the ride, then being prodded by those behind me to move up. And when those in front of me take a little longer than usual, I just say "Excuse me" and point to them that the line has advanced.

I know where I work a lot of people don't consider what they do line jumping. We follow a strict line jumping policy. You can NOT save a place in line for ANYONE nor can you leave and return to the line for any reason. It's all considered line jumping even though a lot of line jumpers I encounter seem to think they can save a place in line, or it's ok if a friend leaves to go get food/drinks.
