I can think of a lot of other rides (coasters included) that have been tamed down. But we still ride them......

The most snappable flyer I have been on is the one we imitated this past weekend. ;-)
Now THAT was snapping! (as in mentally)....lol.
Thanks for talking me into it. I have my flyer hat hanging from my ceiling (away from the cats of course...lol.) Good times!

All I'm saying is why can't the corporate people who made the decision tell us why? It's not like they are removing a ride that has only been in the park for 10 years. That ride has been in the Cincy area for decades!quote]Sadly, Paramount has no sense of history when it comes to rides or ride removals. To them, it's just another ride that was in the way. And since Carowinds isn't getting anything worthwhile for 2005, I guess they thought it would make a fit to please the Charlotte crowd.
I was gravely upset over the removal of the Sternwheeler paddleboat at Carowinds but I was even more upset over getting a used Vekoma Flyer piece of crap. The park made no effort whatsoever to retain the paddleboat. It was one of the original rides that opened in 1973 and a very unique attraction outside of Disney Parks. My opinion of Paramount really dropped after that incident.
I don't always agree with Paramount's decisions. In fact, they have butchered Carowinds to the point where I don't even get excited about going anymore and I live 4 miles from the place. They've removed popular flat rides here too. Yes, I am looking forward to having the historical Eagles here at Carowinds, but I can't honestly say I agree with their decision to move them.

Pulling a proven ride out of a major park, particularly a ride that could easily be moved, a ride with a service history that predates the park...
It would make more sense if the ride were simply going away. That would suggest, for example, problems with the ride. But the ride isn't going away, it's moving. It doesn't make sense to move problems around (Flashback and Zonga notwithstanding).
I have a theory, but I am not sure I like it...and if it...well, perhaps it's best not to say just yet. Seriously, I know nothing, so I won't speculate here.

Well, they moved Stealth to Carowinds. That's a problem!
Rode it media day and rode it in July. Bumpy, jerky, unreliable. It's no secret that Paramount moved that coaster because it was losing riders in CA. The same will eventually happen at Carowinds. So, yes Paramount is capable of moving problems around. I hope that's not the case with the flyers though. *** Edited 10/15/2004 3:17:57 AM UTC by swampfoxer***

Meh, David never did e-mail me...LOL. Seriously, I don't mind speculating, just be ASSURED that I know *zero* about Paramount corporate decision-making.
But I have stated that I fully expect PCar to strictly enforce PKD's *no bumping* policy, and I think it would've been really difficult to try and enforce that if the ride had remained at PKI. That's really all I need to say, the rest should be pretty clear....

<---who accidently "snapped" at Knoebels not knowing what the heck I was doing.
Contraire my friend! The day of the IJ announcement I frightened onlookers with J-Pizzie style, back-breakin', bird-stallin' mayhem. Once I stopped to think about the physics of it all, it was easy.

That's just because you don't know how to snap, Jeff.
It figures that they'd yank it out now that I get it, but I expect I'll have a lot more fun on the new ride.

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
Why is it so hard to believe that they simply want to bolster the lineup at Carowinds and PKI still has a great collection of rides without it?
Because that isn't exactly true. Apart from the coasters, PKI has a pretty anemic ride line-up to begin with, and of the few flat rides the park does have, this one is arguably the best of the bunch.
The problem isn't that Carowinds doesn't need a Flying Scooter, the problem is that Kings Island needs one just as much!

Borg has minor problems compared to what It use to have. Sure its not as smooth as glass but the lines prove alot of things wrong. Its always a line and thats w/ 2 trains running and min. stackingYeh, Vortex was the same way when it opened. Give it a year or 2 and you'll see the lines for BORG diminish to walk-on status.
