PKI in 2003

Oh...I'm sorry pki fanatic.. I must have missed the part where you say..."you were right pkifanatic...i was wrong and you did prove me wrong." 2 times.
Actually I was at Cedar Point and I would rather go to PKI, sure the park is a little cleaner, but you can't be dirty with a garbage can every 5 feet. Also, the rides are either good or bad now medium. Sure PKI doesn't have all of the coasters they have, but it's quality over quanitity and every coaster at PKI is quality material. By the way if you owned a park would you add a coaster every year and nothing else. I bet if you did a park like PKI or Knoebles would kill you in attendance, and by the way I 'm still not proven wrong.

Umm if you would've driven past PKI last winter, you could see parts standing wide in the open for TRTR. Which if you knew anything about Top Spins, you would've known that they were for Top Spins. But because you only care about coasters, it's not likely you would've known this!

The only thing CP has for me was MF. Maggie hurt, Raptor was boring, and Mantis was slow. No flats, nothing. And their newest ride, WT was closed for most of the season!

Now c'mon how retarded is that.... you took what I said and turned it into something different... something new? What turning their park into a park for ages 6 and below?

I'm proving you wrong by saying that PKI has added/improved at least 8 "adult/teen" rides between 2000 and 2003. I can only think of 3 "family" additions/improvements in that time none of which were exclusive to the kiddies. So, please stop the absurd comments.

edit: Just a little reminder if you forgot, PKI is a business and I think they may know a little more about running one than you think they do. Otherwise, they wouldn't be the highest attended (2001) park in Ohio and one of the highest in the entire US.

Note: SFMM is a year-round park with 15 coasters and has a lower attendance yearly (in 2001) than PKI.

I hate teenager punk arse kids who think they know everything. pkifanatic, take your business elsewhere if you hate PKI so much now. I will state this simply, without the sugar coating everyone puts on. pkifanatic...you are simply a kid who knows absolutely nothing about business. Family's spend money...punk teenagers don't. Flats are more family oriented...flat's are more econimical...flats are a whole lot cheaper than coasters...and flats brign in just as many people if advertised right. What's the better business move bud? I for one can tell that you will never have a job in business...
Good points pki-goer and Koaster King.... He just doesn't understand somethings.

PKI could learn a lot of things from other parks.... My friend said in Florida, they put signs up saying what rides are closed. Thus you don't have to walk to the other end of the park to see if a ride is open or closed.

By the way...PKI would only kill in attendance because of other paramount parks....i know it doesn't make much sense now but I will wait till you post to make sense of my comment.

by the way I 'm still not proven wrong.

Again...get out your bifocals and take a look around. I proved one fellow wrong...heck I even reposted it...shall I do it again?

"PKI is not known for getting a new coaster every year, or every two years anyways. Wasn't the improvement to action done in '99? That's three years between FOF and those. FOF was built in '96 right, can't seem to rememeber. Not getting a coaster doesn't mean they are "dishing out crap.""

I replied

In the last few years they have been "known" to do so...

1996: Flight Of Fear

1998: Scooby's Goster Coaster

1999: Face/Off

2000: Son Of Beast

2001: Runaway Reptar

If that isn't enough proof to show that Kings Island has grown a reputation for building coasters every two years then I dunno what is. Prooved wrong.....there ya go....choke on that slappy.

Well, I have better things to do with my time then ride up to PKI in the off season and get aroused by a couple of top spin seats...and besides I just turned 16 last year..wasn't old enough to drive and my parents would have looked at me funny if I said to them..."Mom. Dad. Lets take a 45 minute stroll to PKI so we can see some seats and parts for PKI's new attraction that is set to take place next year." No I think I'll pass. I got all the info I needed from this site right here. I didn't just register yesterday, ya know.

The only thing CP has for me was MF. Maggie hurt, Raptor was boring, and Mantis was slow. No flats, nothing. And their newest ride, WT was closed for most of the season!

Maggie hurt? One out of what....14 roller coasters hurt you? Thats it....LOL! The only ride up at PKI that doesn't hurt is Face/Off. The Beast kills you...SOB kills you...Vortex is horrible on the necks....FOF is decent but can get rough at times...Top Gun is fine. The Racers can kill ya... But, yeah, most of the rides at PKI do hurt. Raptor was boring? WoW. What an enthusiast.

PKI does have signs up to tell you what rides are closed. There have been TRTR signs up all season that say that the ride may be closed off and on, so I really have no clue what you're talking about here.

BTW, at CP, Mantis, Mean Streak, and Corkscrew all hurt some to me, but that doesn't mean I won't ride them. Same goes for The Beast (brutally intense fun) and Vortex (my favorite steelie at the park) at PKI. There's usually a couple at every park that may be a little painful, but I don't think I've ever been on something that I might need serious medical treatment on after I got off. ;)

Oh wow you proved one whole guy wrong good for you. They do tell you what rides are closed on the sign out front, but since you don't pay attention to things you wouldn't see that. PKI being Paramount has nothing to do with anything, they have always been a very popular park. Hate to say it, but YOU are the wrong one

Koaster King , I'll have to get back to you on your comments.... I have to do some research.

And I hate prejudice people... See the thing you are missing is this...if King's Island cared about business, they wouldn't have the GREAT, and it is great, that great deal where if you buy one paramount park pass you get in free to the rest of the paramount parks. You wanna know why PKI murders the compatition on attendance....that is why people. That is why.

PKI does have signs up to tell you what rides are closed. There have been TRTR signs up all season that say that the ride may be closed off and on, so I really have no clue what you're talking about here.

No they don't. On cold days...they might. When you go in and park they will give you a flyer that says what rides are open and what arn't. You are talking about signs that sit infront of the entrances. The way it sounded from a friend. They put signs around the whole park. So say if Vortex would shut down...they would have signs over at SOB saying that, that ride is shut down for the day. They don't have that at PKI.

Where is Shaggy...I like to here his opinions.

Dude, all you have to do is look out front when you walk in and it says what's closed why don't you pay attention. Plus how many people do you know that complain about walking, it was their choice to come and they knew they'd have to walk.

What? I never said PKI being a Paramount park has anything to do with anything but it does. You buy one pass to a paramount park then you can get in to the others for free.....it has plenty to do with it. Wrong again...

Too bad Six Flags does that to every park too. Too bad that Cedar Fair does that. Sorry YOUR WRONG.

You have to be slow... What are you gonna do when a ride breaks down in mid-day..."Sorry I have to run all the way to the entrance...get my hand stamped. See if the posted it or not..then run back in the park.." Plus.... I don't sit and investigate every single aspect of the park. Also, I never said anyone complained but there have been people who have complained before... And I am sure people would rather be on a coaster or dare I even say it...a flat ride, than walking to the other end of the park, only to discover the ride they wanted to get on was closed. It has happend and will continue to happen.

WTF are you talking about?! All the chain parks like CF, Busch, and SF do this as far as I know (I don't think Universal and Disney directly do this) and you would think they would get the big attendances if it was exactly like you're saying.

And if so, why aren't the attendances greater at PC, PCW, PGA, or PKD? Sure, they all do good business, but not close to what PKI does which probably draws most of their visits from locals/season pass people. Sean or Shaggy could enlighten me on that, but that's my guess and I don't think your PP season pass theory is right at all.

Teenage Ninja(Info) (Edit) (Quote)9/2/2002, 2:46:48 PMToo bad Six Flags does that to every park too. Too bad that Cedar Fair does that. Sorry YOUR WRONG

Seeing that I don't have a Six Flags pass nore a Ceder Fair pass... I want some proof...

Why would someone go all the way across the park just to ride one ride? Sure, I've done it before with FOF, SOB, and TRTR, but I don't think I was pissed about it. I just asked if it may reopen soon and would just go on to Vortex or Beast or Top Gun. There's so much to do that you're not just left in this situation "ok, I'm at Congo Falls, but I want to go to Reptar. Oh no, I'm at Reptar and its closed. Now we have to go all the way back to Action Zone. This park sucks!" Get my point? You're just not making a whole lot of sense here.

How about you CTF out... I only have one chain park pass.... so I wouldn't know...I was wrong.. I'll admit it... unlike you people...

Why aren't the attendances greater....because your are looking at a biased attendance chart?
