PKI in 2003

And........? And.........? And.........? And........?

Those two have only been named about a million times by a million posters. What is more interesting is the things that have not been cropping up on rumor boards.

I think folks will be pleasantly surprised at the changes in store at PKI next season. Not necessarily all rides, but none the less they are all "changes."

That doesnt mean a thing, at the beginning of this season before Tomb Raider opened it kept showing Stealth in a PKI commercial.
Aren't they getting a Tomb Raider?

Reagarding the mouse -- I'm a little surprised that PKI hasn't added one yet. All of the other Paramount Parks have them, and they seem to be "family-friendly" rides. Sure wouldn't mind seeing rollergator's theory come true...an inverted mouse, especially an ArrowBATic, would be a unique (and welcome) addition.

Still, I'm not complaining about next year's additions. I love wild mice, but I would actually rather have the Giant Frisbee. Can't wait to try that bad boy for the first time!

Aaron, wondering what these other "changes" are that Shaggy is talking about...

chris, you're living in the past, man....Tomb Raider is up and running....;)
Damn, I thought I was finally ''in the know."

You mean they finally took my suggestion and there'll be free beer for all patrons 45 and older? Hot dog, I'm there!

BogeyMon....that's 35 and older.....35....:)
So, then, Paramount's Great America IS getting a coaster for next year?

It only stands to reason from the info we have....

Shaggy, will the "changes" you mentioned be announced, or will we have to find out for ourselves when we go to the park? And if they aren't announced, are they something that even the General Public would notice, or just us enthusiasts?

I guarentee you PKI is getting a Huss Frisbee and not a wild mouse!

In my opinion, the Scooby announcement is probably the only formal annouce we will see until next year. That, again IMO, came early to help drive season pass sales and also because removal of PT dictated it.

There is hardly any esteem inflicted on those that have been "guaranteeing" a certain ride addition. I mean c'mon, everybody and their brother knows what potential two attractions were surveyed on Coney Mall this season, and what the overwhelming choice was. Add with that the "success" with recent manufacturers at PKI... it hardly takes a brain surgeon to see where they are headed with at least one 2003 addition.

Hehe...looks like I'll be getting a pass to the Beach next year... To bad too....Oh and Shaggy didn't you say their were changes to River Town last year? I don't recall seeing any "changes". I think you are jut giving us false info again. King's Island gets a coaster in 2004...then I will get a pass. But like I said. Beach Waterpark.

You know me, that tricky Shaggy sure likes to lead people down the wrong PKI path. I cannot wait to spread more false PKI rumors. OIY VEY!

To clarify, although I am not sure why I am having to do so... I said there were changes in various parts of the park, which there were.... significant ones that included Rivertown.

If you did not notice them then you are not very observant. The food stands (one was new) and games (one was new) and shop near TR:TR each received "changes" and extra themeing.

However I would predict things on a bit bigger scale for next season. With at least one visible even from across the interstate at the Beach, which it appears you'll just be waving to. ;-)

Possibly more theming on Tomb Raider.....perhaps the outside of the building?

"So, then, Paramount's Great America IS getting a coaster for next year"?

With all the smack talked about how great the moves Cedar Fair and Six Flags make year after year, it's Paramount who really looks like they're working with a plan that makes sense for everyone, families and thrill seekers alike.

After some serious blunders a few years ago, they seem to be back on track, slowly rebuilding each of their parks one step at a time, not trying to do it all in one year, but strategically.

Let's take a look real quick at Paramount's Great America. After the dubious attempt to join the coasters wars(Stealth) and years of stripping the park of all it's charm, PGA has once again become a park I can take anyone to without a second thought.

There are those who will always lamblast the park for removing most of Merriott's original theming, to me these people are living in the past. What the park has done the last few years is finally begin to add their own personality, their own touch. It's NOT a Merriott anymore or Six Flags park, it's distinctly Paramount, like it or not.

2001: Psycho Mouse, Celebration swings and other general improvements.

2002: Flying Scooters, Delerium and other general improvements.

2003? You see where I'm headed...it's not just about big coasters and bragging that your the best. Sometimes the best changes are the ones that don't grab for the headlines. Unfortunately, enthusiasts aren't very patient, and some don't have any foresight what-so-ever. If it's not 400ft, don't give them a call.

Sorry for the longwinded response, and you will be VERY happy with PGA's choices for 2003. But don't forget to look at the big picture.

Outkast,

Although I enjoyed reading your post, isn't this thread about PKI? I am glad to here what you said about PGA though!

Sorry PKI fanatic, your right. But ultimately, I'm a Paramount fan as if you couldn't tell.

The fact that I recently began working for Paramount Parks, and realized that it IS possible to be treated great by a large chain, I'm sure has nothing to do with my opinion. ;)
