Photos from closing weekend show Impulse likely for Cedar Point beach

If you weren't convinced last time around, check out the photos from the photos from Cedar Point on closing weekend. The footers being poured suggest a series of supports and a tower support consistant with an Intamin Impulse design.

ForceAddiction what you said was true CP will make it a cut above the rest super-size it!  That is the CP way of doing things!
This might sound crazy but I feel this is going to a be a roller coaster unlike ever seen before.  Its going to make the MF look small.  This coaster is going to be bigger and go upside down.  Its going to go out over the lake to add that extra feeling of something new.  It will make the park area around the big wheel thrive once again.  I'm looking forward to shorter lines for the MF.
It's really quite simple. Dig down deep enough anywhere and there's rock-solid bedrock. You don't think they'd acctually pour the footers on the sand do you?

I think Jeff is right, if you don't like it go home.  I know that I will go to Cedar Point early next year regardless of what they get.  I will be sastitfied with an Impulse.
I don't buy Jeff for a minute. Think what you want. He's no more in the know than the rest of us. One visit to the Intamin factory and you would say this could be one of 4 or 5 rides they have available. When they announce it we'll know. *** This post was edited by Buzz Head on 11/1/2001. ***
Admittedly, I didn't even go near the construction area the last time I was there. What I did notice is that, as someone said previously, there wasn't much traffic in that area of the park. I was too busy enjoying the Hallow-Weekends attractions with my son to even notice that there WAS construction going on over there. We spent every other weekend all summer riding coasters and splashing water at CP/SC. I will be going there sometime in spring to get an early peek at what is going on and seeing "what's up" for 2002. I may even go in the next week or two and see if I can get close enough for a few pics......I'll tell you this, though. When I left CP on October 20th at 11:30PM, I stood in the parking lot for a minute or two, stared at the lights in the park on that warm October night, and felt as though I was parting with an old friend. Sentimental, huh? What was great about it was that I had already bought my 2002 season passes for my son and myself and am now looking forward to wearing them out as I did this year. I figure that by this time next year, my son will be posting here, too, and maybe even guessing about what CP will have in store for the next season. Eventually I will tell him that there is life beyond CP yet to be explored. And to reiterate my previous statements, my bet would have to be on a bigger, badder, TALLER impulse......and somehow different and unique. It's the CP way.
