Overated/ Underated coasters.

This site makes me wonder, sometimes.

How is that 12 year olds get to travel all over the country and ride these rides?

I still haven't ridden X and that is *so* last year.

Underrated: Wild Beast, Iron Wolf, Chiller, Viper, Cornball, Cyclops, Bid Dipper (WoA), Blue Streaks(s), Arrow Megaloopers

Overrated: Kraken, Superman: Ultimate Flight. I don't know which one is worse. On one hand we have the aqua-colored goldfish (since when are sea monsters quiet as hell anyway?) and on the other hand we have forcelessness galore, aside from the pretzel, of course. Zzzzzzz...

I just read all 107 posts and it's amazing how directly opposed opinons for the same ride can be. Too much politics and not enough evidence I think. Opinions:

Maybe every brake was stuck the day I was there, but Nessie was the biggest nothing, for a coaster that everybody seems to love. Stop, drop, stop, roll, stop, drop, stop, etc...

Never hear much about Wildfire. It is way too short, but it has the same great intensity from begining to end. And how many loopers have a hyper-like first drop?

Actually, I wouldn't say politics OR evidence, just personal TASTE....some that people hate, I love....the reverse is also true. The best part about that is that sometimes I get SHORT waits on rides I absolutely *adore*...:)

Of course, I'm told I like *everything*, so there ya have it...;)

bill, yet to find a floorless with HALF the foot-chopping action of Great Nor'Easter...

P.S. Of course, bASS also got the best ride EVER given on Wild One, so maybe I just need to ride with him more...;)

For me I don't know if you can say overrated or underated, I think, You have to ride a certain coaster in just about every seat during the day and at night before you can form an honest opinion, also I would think the line would have a factor, because if you stand in line for hrs and hrs you can either be way to overanxious or in a bad mood which can inhibit the ride itself, along with that everyone has diffrent expectations as wells as preferences, thats can factor into it, as long as humans have been alive they have been arguing over whats better, from beer to cars and so on. I also think that over all popularity can rank in this one, As for me my all time favorite coaster is The Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park, not big not fast but its just a simple out and back and in the right seats you can get great air time along with some back breaking dips, also the trains have no locking lap bar just a leather strap and a fixed bar to hold onto if you wish which adds to the thrill, also you can ride this coaster all day long and never wait more that 5-10 minutes in line. As for the overrated coasters I really dont like anything at WOA except the Villian which I wouldnt put in the top 20 and the Big Dipper, I'm not much of a fan of the B&M floorless coasters yet, I would also say the wicked twister is a bit underrated, it is ten times better than superman at WOA, As for Millenium and Magnum they may be over hyped but I wouldnt say there overrated. The mean streak and mantis are absolute just if you ask me, unless your in the front of the mantis, or its raining at night then the mean streak can be quite enjoyable.

bASS...and to think Togo *could* make a stand-up as good as KC, which I've waited almost hour for....Shockwave, that coaster is SO bad I could only ride it once a day....that must just be a cursed name...;)

Thanks, SFNE Dude. Until i got to the third page of this thread I was utterly surprised to see that Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce had received no mention of being the most underrated coaster. It is one of my favorite coasters of all time and second only to The Beast among woodies. Still, Boulder Dash has yet to receive the honorable mention that it deserves. What is the meaning of this?

how can you say M:TR is over rated? I've never even seen a review of the ride, let alone seen it ranked on any of the polls. Wasn't it SBNO(that may be the wrong term?) for a long time, shouldn't the CPO(or is it CPC?) have it in their posession by now?

What is R:UE? Or should Bill's response give me a clue?

Phantom's Revenge is definitely underrated. That thing just spits out airtime, and floater air in the front seat all the way over the second hill. And I thought Montu was overrated, Raptor would kick it's ass any day.

Well, I personally think this way....

Underrated-invertigos, Love them. SLCs-liked it too! Great layout and when I rode, not too rough. I like Swamp Fox and Hurricane @ myrtle beach, I think they are both underrated, though Hurricane could use some TLC. Swamp Fox is just classic, and gives me a great ride every time. I actually have to agree with nate on page one that Iron Wolf is underrated. I liked it. I also think Runaway Reptar deserves more credit, though it's pretty well liked around here I think.

Overrated- Batman: The Ride. Yes, its good, but it was my second invert(after TopGun @ PCar), and I thought it would be mind blowing after talking to people(wasn't on here then, though). It was good, but not Infreakincreadible!

Raging Bull-Though it's in my top 10(love hypers), I still think people that think it is the End all Be all of hypers need to relax. Yes, I've ridden only 2, but I think this is a good ride, but again, not so mind blowing!
