Obligatory Beer Post

Ever heard of "balance"? "control"? "Everything within moderation". Anything can be lethal if abused. Unfornunatly, some things are illegal, there is no way around that whether you like it or not. I prefer not to go to jail myself. Alcohol is legal, but that's doen't mean it's healthy. But moderation is the key. In low amounts, I'm willing to take the risk. It's MY choice and it's LEGAL, end of story.

............your milage may vary. ;)

Perhaps the legality of a substance wasn't the right aspect to make my point. Rather, the medical risk associated with these items that make the difference.

Moderation is certainly something to consider as well, seeing as how too much water can actually kill you, but again there are those substances that can cause a lot of damage in a little time.

For the record, I can see practical uses for certain drugs, and don't take the governments word for anything. After all, they're the reason we have nuclear waste from power plants (because their paranoia dictates that we can't recycle the fuel until it doesn't exist).

Thrillseekers... some ride rollercoasters, some take drugs, many do both.

Alton Towers is near Stoke and Manchester, where the rave scene as we know it began. Hundreds of 'daytrippers' used to go on Sundays, after the Saturday all nighters... we'd then gather around the letter E in the car park as it emptied! wicked days!

Personally, I find beer can leave you feeling bloated, which aint gonna be much fun on the negative G's, Mary Jane however, she's a saviour for passing Q time...!

So more than a few of you would get the joke shirt me and a few friends wanted to make a couple of years back?

"I love rolling on coasters"

or alternatively:

"I was rolling on the coasters at (insert park name)"

At the time many people had no idea what we meant, but it seems there's quite a few here who'd get the double meaning.

I've always wanted to roll on a coaster. Have'nt tried it yet though.
From what I have heard women have a very fun time while "rolling on coasters".

Chitown. A few points.

1. High fat foods are not illegal.

2. People do not drive their cars into a school bus after eating at McDonalds.

3. Eating too many hamburgers at CP does not cause a person to behave like an a$$.

That wasnt my point jimster. I was making this point based on what others have said about the health problems of prolonged use of drugs.

Everything you mentioned I already know , but thanks for playing. :)

If I got to parks more often and just lounged around, I'd probably have a few more beers at parks... And James, didnt you have a couple @ SFWOA before BuzzCon? Or was that just me and Jake?

Okay, when did this topic get so serious? Can't we just have a fun beer post without all the political rhetoric? I come here for an escape from that crap.

I love going to Chicago Cubs games and putting back either the OS or the Rum Runners while chillin in the bleachers. SFGAM has crap for bear plus it's not cheap. CP I could spend all day in the Saloon over be MF and sip a couple of LaBatt's all day long.

People who suck & are obnoxious, suck & are obnoxious wether they're "on something" or not.

Plus, thinking your 'X' is safe because you live in Europe or Holland, HA! They may list the "ingredients", but do you know what that stuff's made from? The same cancer-potential mess of fumes that people cook the stuff up with wordlwide. Just because it came from Holland, hey wait, lots of the stuff here comes from there! Worldwide, it's the same thing! It all comes from the same crap.

'X' causes very distinct changes in the individual personalities of the users. It makes them DIFFERENT. I'm talking longterm. I have two friends here, man I tell you they're different people now, it's actually kinda creepy. You'll never know what it does to you until IT'S done with YOU. Remember, the opposite of happy IS depressed.

Anyways, I don't appreciate reading all this drug talk here, & maybe I'm even a user, it doesn't matter. It makes NO SENSE, it's nobody's business. "Look at the monkey!!!!" POP!!!!!

~why people want to discuss things that wouldn't exist if they didn't talk about them IS beyond this one........

I thought this was a beer thread? Guess I am too late to post about that. I don't want to get in a heated debate about the effects of various drugs either. I read so many different opinions that it made me want to go and do some bong hits. After all it is that time of year for those Christmas greens to be floating around. ;)

Annnnyway....back to the topic...

You guys all complain about how horrible it is to your system to drink while at the park. I'd argue it can be just as bad, or even worse, to drink a lot the night before and then try to visit the park the next day. Just ask anyone who saw me at CBCon about that one ;oP

ok, let's make this a beer thread again. I have this question: why is Budweiser so popular in the US? Drank it a couple of times, but to me it's just like beer-flavored water. What makes it so special?

2 parks
28 rides

I'd agree. It's damn hard to get up early on Saturday mornings to go travel to a park with a massive hangover from partying too hard that Friday. Ugh, I should know....I've done it waaay too much this season...

i think maybe under 10 people have died solely from Ecstacy, ever. at least 2 people in my family have died from liver problems associated with drinking. and a few have died from cigarette smoking.

i'm not preaching - do what you want to do. but a drug is a drug, whether "legal" or not, and they'll all shorten your life span. just be aware of that, have fun, and keep yourself under control.

(btw - this has been a really interesting post. it went places i never expected, but i'm glad we can have intellegent conversations about social issues here on coasterbuzz - i like to know all of your opinions.)

BACK to the BEER part.

Helios, my husband is half German and he says the beer here in the US doesn't compare to the beer found in Europe. All US beer is "watered down" as far as he's concerned.

I'm not a fan of any of the bottled "heavy" beers, but there are some micro-brewed beers that I've enjoyed. As for bottled, I tend to stick with Corona with lime.

Guess I'm a pretty wimpy beer drinker.
